“Tacky and run down but fascinating and fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2013

This place is unusual for a Chinese funfair. It is built as a homage to everything foreign, but only the Chinese's perception of foreign. As is usual ongoing maintenance is never high on anyone's list of priorities in China so you will find it fairly run down, but that aside it really is quite a fun place. The big rides are good if a little dear (30rmb per person) but still fun, the water splash is great, you really need the free plastic mac! The snacks and drinks are cheap, the stalls are fun and the booze shop has the best range and best prices in the city!

“Delightfully tacky, but skip the reptile zoo...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

wow, i can't believe foreigner street isn't bold-faced in guidebooks or ranked higher here on tripadvisor. if you're into off-beat places, appreciate odd humor, and want to have an awesome time for virtually pennies, come to foreigner street. to a westerner, it's so horribly tacky and so poorly conceived/constructed that it's ABSOLUTE GENIUS.

while there is most definitely an undertone of sarcasm in this review, foreigner street was such a welcome reprieve from all the fake "ancient" towns selling cheap crap, and temples and pagodas and mausoleums you're likely to visit in china. you need to come here and see it for yourself, words and online photos don't do it justice...

i went here by myself on a grey and rainy day in chongqing and while it was pretty empty, i still had a blast taking in all the absurdity and weird/poorly constructed attractions (the largest public bathroom in the world, the upsidedown house).

as a New Yorker, i was enthralled by their version of the NYC skyline, complete with a little bakery inside. apparently, large loaves of sweet bread that sell for Y2 are baked here, and it is big business.

don't forget to take in all the poor english translations of words of wisdom which are all too hilarious....

oh and a final word of advice -- don't go to the reptile zoo on the periphery of the park near the river... it costs Y10 to see some snakes, turtles and the saddest crocodile in the world. it doesn't seem like these animals are well-cared for. the poor croc, for example was just wallowing in a dirty pool of water not much bigger than itself. the iguana had some brown lettuce to eat.

“Weird, fascinating, and worth visiting for the story”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

This place is weird. There is no other way to explain Foreign Street. It is a Chinese interpretation of different foreign cultures. None of it makes sense to a Westerner but that is what makes this place so fascinating. Everything is just off and that is the beauty of Foreign Street. Appreciate the absurdity and you will your visit. The stories and pictures you will leave with are worth your time.

A couple of reviews have mentioned the toilets. Not only does Foreign Street have the world's largest public toilet but the toilets themselves are just as weird as the park.

“Horrible Theme Park”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2012

Never go there! Unless you want nausia and a massive head ache. This is one of the most poorly conceived theme parks of all time, and it has nothing to do with Foreigners by the way...

The place is loud, dirty, crowded, and tasteless. Skip this.
