“A convenient stay within Tsim Sha Tsui”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

My and my family have enjoyed our stay in Hotel Benito. It's conveniently located within Tsim Sha Tsui, perfect for navigating within Hong Kong as we are nearby the train station and bus stop to Airport. Too bad they don't have a complimentary breakfast in there, but I don't mind, the service and the amenities compensated for it anyway! Anyway, if we do get hungry, we just need to go out and everything is within reach! Our room is perfect! Clean bathroom, clean beds and love the free wifi!

Will definitely stay again on my next trip to Hong Kong!

This was my first trip to Hong Kong and so I can't make a judgement about the standard of this hotel against any other local ones. Our aim was to spend one night here, one night at Disneyland and then leave on the Ferry to Zhuhai and then on to Macau.

The hotel is on Cameron road just off Nathan road - the main drag in Kowloon so it’s ideally located for shopping, walking, eating, several sights, and in easy walking distance of the ferry to Zhuhai, and so was ideal for us. If you turn off Nathan road into Cameron road, the hotel is on your left just past the Tsim Sha Tsui Metro Station. Its front is in a side alley, between Cameron road and Tom Lee Music (which is definitely worth a visit if you play any sort if musical instrument)

Within ten minutes walking distance is Harbour city shopping centre/mall (with the ferry terminal a few minutes further on) and iCentre shopping centre/mall. Kowloon Park is a hundred metres away almost directly across Nathan road. There are plenty of Western fast food restaurants in a short hop (MacCafe, KFC) and plenty of much better pastry shops. Head to Nathan road, turn right and about 100 m down are some great dim sum restaurants. In fact, you can't really avoid a good place to eat in the whole area.

Entering the hotel lobby, they proudly display a 4-rating trip advisor certificate. Our reception was really great and they were fast, efficient and cheerful in getting our keys for us. In fact as it was Chinese New Year's Eve they even rang around to find us a table for a meal (and unbelievably found us one eventually even at what was incredibly short notice).
The same consideration was repeated later. Some friends stayed in the hotel while we trekked off to Disneyland, and when we returned, the following day the hotel were kind enough to still look after our luggage for the afternoon while we went exploring some more even though we hadn't stayed the night. They also had no issues with us sitting in the lobby for a few hours either (and using their lobby WiFi) before we finally left. Service with a smile.

The room we got had twin beds and was a corner room. It seemed a little smaller than our friend's next door. However, there was no room to swing a cat in either of them. As seems to be typical now in hotels in Asia, it has rather dim energy saving bulbs and no central light. This always makes me worry that this is a way to hide dirt and shabbiness, but in this case the room and bathroom were very clean. My son hit the TV for a while and was happy to find Cartoon Network. I didn't watch at all but there seemed to be a good mix of mainland China, international and local TV stations available.

The ensuite bathroom had a very small shower, but at least it had plenty of hot water. A bathrobe would have been really useful but there were none.

The beds were comfortable and while we were kept up by a flashing neon light for sometime, I realised in the morning that the thin net curtain was hiding a more substantial curtain that would have blacked out the room. My fault in this case.

The room had a British 3-pin adapter (Hong Kong still maintains the bulky and quite honestly ugly power sockets of the UK) already available, but there weren't that many power sockets to put it into so I never unpacked my own adapter. If you have a lot of electronics to charge you may need a good strategy to do so.
WiFi was fast and available in our room using the code they supplied on the room card cover. The signal strength was good and upload and download were speedy.

There didn't seem to be any breakfast or room service available - but then in we didn't want either as there were plenty of cheap alternatives just outside the door. If the hotel rooms were slightly larger, and the decor wasn't a little run down, I would have been happy to give this a five rating.

Stayed there for a few nights with family... room was rather run down, the service basic, no breakfast. Tried to get room next to each other. First advised at booking as being no problem, then didn't work when we checked in. Charged us at check in as well.

If you can take another place to stay at (only positive is its central location).

Check in/out was hassle free; Location is excellent, its very near the restaurants, few steps to convenience stores, 1-2minute walk to TST MTR and shopping.

Free wifi connection.

Complimentary coffee, tea, bottled water, basic toiletries are provided...including adapters for your chargers!

Helpful & efficient staff..

Only setback are the rooms, beds & shower, they are kinda small..but what's important to us is the location..so I guess I would still stay here the next time..

Hotel room is small, clean, two single bed, air con is really cool, price is very reasonable. My friend stay on a one king size bed on a corner. These room is really small, can't move comfortably. But the nice thing about these hotel is the location. Foods and shopping are all just few minute walk. Kowloon Park 2 minute walk. MTR (train) is just 1 minute walk. So very convenient.

Was there from 27 Dec 2013 to 1 Jan 2014. Being a boutique hotel, the reception area was as expected pretty small. Our room was very cramp compared to other hotels that we have stayed in Hong Kong.
Free Wi-Fi available in the room. Location is less than 5 minutes walk to the TST MTR.

Location
The hotel is located near Tsim Sha Tsui Station, about 1 minute walk from there (exit B2). There're lots of restaurant and shops nearby, you can always find yourself some food. Avenue of Stars is about 10 minutes from there (follow the main road - Nathan Road).

Room
We stay in standard queen room, it is basic, clean and tidy, no weird smell, comfortable. Toilet and bathroom size is average. The free WiFi signal is strong and the connection speed is good, we can stream a movie on the iPad without lagging. It seems like each unit has its own WiFi access point.

Service
We didn't really use much of their service apart from check-in and check-out, overall, it is quick (that's probably due to there's no one else at the counter when we check-in and check-out). Luggage can be kept at the reception for free (we put it there on the check-out date, came back to collect it later).
