We ate at Jaspa's in Sai Kung last night and had a very good meal, dining outdoors al fresco. The atmosphere was nice since it is not yet too hot to dine this way in Hong Kong, the tables were spaced far enough apart that we didn't feel cramped. Also, due to the more quite nature of life in Sai Kung, we didn't have to shout to hear one another, making the meal quite pleasant. We arrived as walk-in patrons around 8pm, the restaurant was already quite full so reservations might be advisable.
We ordered two main dishes which were a bit pricey but served in very large portions, preventing us from trying a dessert. We can happily say that the food was quite good. We ordered the Veggie Burrito (HK$135 +$20 for chicken) that we rated a 3.5 out of 5. Being an old school Mexican food seeker from Texas, hubby, felt this was a very good effort at making an authentic burrito. We also ordered the Baked Pumpkin & Spinach Risotto (HK$135) which was spot on delicious, cooked very well, as good an Italian style risotto as we have found in Hong Kong, we rated it 4.5 of 5. Pint of Beer (HK$50) and glass of Cab (HK$60).
We felt very happy with our meal at Jaspa's and will make a follow-up trip later this year based on our experience last night. Further, we offer our recommendation for Jaspa's if you are in Sai Kung during the evening and want a very good fresco dining experience and a nice meal.
