“Great curry, great prices”
Reviewed 14 January 2014

You need to seek this little Indian restaurant out if you yearn for a curry in Kowloon. It's tucked away at the rear of the 3rd floor of Chungking Mansions. Nothing fancy, but what more do you need? I had Chicken Madras, Basmati Rice, Onion Naan and 3 beers for HK $157. I only just managed to eat the lot (and I like my food) and waddled out very satisfied.

“Average place with average food.”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

The ambiance of this place is not the one which you would like to visit with family for a nice decent eat out. I went to this place because someone told me about it and i was pretty close to this place. The food was not very good as i had expected and read it in the reviews. The chicken curry i ordered was very oily and the chicken itself was not tender. Price wise this place is on the lower side and that is the only plus point it has.

“Very good”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

Best in the world???... Having curried my lower intestine to oblivion in India and with Leeds/Bradford on our doorstep this IMHO is possibly a BIT of a generous accolade, however...

The food is indeed tasty and inexpensive with good flavours and not too much salt and oil in the mains :). Not the most glamorous of locations, but fun to dig out (see other reviews), you are served in a basic cafe style restaurant interior with wipe down furniture (seats wrapped in cling film!), school dinner tableware, beer by the neck and as previously mentioned not the most attentive service. Bhaji's were a bit of a cheat (onion rings) but a suitable nibble never-the-less. Certainly worth a visit if you've been missing a curry on your travels.

“Excellent Indian in Hong Kong”
Reviewed 9 June 2013

While it's not the fanciest restaurant and it's certainly not the cleanest, the Delhi Club Mess in Chunking Mansion is some of the best Indian we've eaten anywhere and certainly the best in Hong Kong. It is also reasonably priced - not something to take for granted in Hong Kong. Certainly the quality is higher and the prices are lower than the Indian restaurants in Central on Hong Kong Island. We take almost every guest we have in Hong Kong here and they always love it.
The mixed grill is a must-order if you eat meat but it is hard to go wrong with everything else on the menu. The staff is friendly and will suggest dishes if you're not sure what to get.
Like other restaurants in Chunking Mansion, it can be a bit disconcerting to plunge through the crowd at the door to the building and make your way to the right elevator bank. It's a bit easier if you grab the Delhi Club tout - he'll take you to the elevator and keep the other touts out of your way.
If you ask, the restaurant staff will make you a "member," which mostly entails the staff giving you a membership card.

“Best curry in Hong Kong”
Reviewed 8 April 2013

I've been here several times over 3 years, and every time the food and service have been excellent. Its location in Chung King Mansions might put some people off, but it is one of the cleanest restaurants I've been in this year despite the budget decor. Ask the staff for recommendations and they will help pick your perfect meal. Just don't order too much to start with - the portions are bigger than they look!!!!
