very small and cramped, there is only one lift servicing odd numbered floors and one serving even numbered ones. the wait is forever and it is extremely crowded.

the lobby of the lift landing is almost always filled with touts trying to sell you things or people just generally standing in your way you dont feel quite so safe.

it is quite pricey and not fully worth it.

We stayed here for the new year's eve, so everything else was full (talking about cheap places..) and we booked here. What can I say?
I suggest to find another place to sleep..This building was really bad, we felt unsafe and the room was quite small and not clean; the elevator was full all the time and you have to wait.. Something good? Maybe the price, quite cheap because HK is expensive..

They moved us from "Ashoka" to "Delta" on another floor, after demanding 100USD as a deposit, but would not give us 2 keys. Promised in room microwave, refrigerator, desk, seating area and bathtub. They never emptied our trash can or replaced toilet paper. No clean towels. No clean anything. They never changed sheets or swept.

Room Tip: Do not pay until you see...they do NOT give you microwave or refrigerator or bathtub. Staff are bell...

A little surprised by some of the comments of other posters. You are staying in the Chung King Mansion..Did you bother to google it before your booked? Yea its a little high stress downstairs with all the people, and the building seems like a fire trap, but for the price I can't complain. The room I was in was pretty clean, had a small tv, and and ok wifi. I would add that any hostel in the Chung King Mansion is going to be an experience. If you are looking for something else the Four Seasons might be just the place.

Room Tip: Look for exits and stairways

If you are travelling to HK, please choose something else, this hostel is crap in every sense you could imagine, rooms, housekeeping, elevators, everything!!...even the entrance is scary. Hong Kong os great but any place at the Chung King Mansion must be avoided.

Room Tip: Not one choice is good here

Chungking Mansion was like a home of the Bombays and Indians. You can see a lot of them in the hallway. And I guess everywhere. I'm not against them, but they were too many to approach you for a business talk (accommodation). The way up to the rooms was kinda messy, and a little too dirty. The smell was so unpleasant. This apartment-hostel was only good for the strong-willed backpackers who are more flexible than they thought they could be lol! Well, sometimes this could be the price of an affordable accommodation... But I could recommend one hostel within this apartment though, Ashoka Hostel. This was new and cleaner compared with the rest of the rooms during the 3-night stay. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in Hong Kong's central which is near to the train station, to some fast foods, to bargain centers, and will only cost you some hundred pesos only, then this is the place! One tip, just book ahead!

Hong Kong was our first destination on our travels and Chung King Mansions was the first place we stayed.
The lifts are horrible, tiny and constantly packed.
The rooms are like matchboxes and we had no hot water!
If this place ever went on fire you'd have no chance as it's so big, the lifts take forever and the stairwells are disgusting.
Stay clear! :-0
