First of, I am a very long time repeat customer of this hostel, staying at this place about 6-8x/year. Under the old management, it was done right. The very same staffs were very courteous, and they were honest bunch. The location is excellent too.

In the past year or so, things went south very quickly. They increased rate 3 times, and the senior staff developed a bad attitude. They even tried to charge for power plug adaptor at 3x the typical price just down the street.

During my current trip, the boss gave me one rate during reservation, when checked in the staff wrote the same rate in the book, but then things went horribly wrong. When I tried to pay for the room, the senior staff said that this kind of rate is no longer valid per the boss' instruction. I tried to clear things up with her, but the talk was simply unpleasant. It was more of the "find some other place" treatment.

I tried contacting the boss without success.

The straw that broke the camel's back was that later I found out that the same staff gave the rate her boss gave to me to the other guests!

So, beware of this establishment until they get their act together again.

My family and I have been staying at Jetvan whenever we go to HK because of its great location - right in the middle of busy but fashionable Causeway Bay. Food stalls, boutiques, fashion walk - all within your reach from the budget hostel literally! It's just 5mins walk to MTR station, around 8 mins walk to Sogo and Wellcome supermarket is just across the street. Since it is just a budget hostel, don't expect too much about the room. I inquired and reserved in email through Paypal and got a nice rate from the owner because I booked 1 month advance. Lillian, the cheerful Pinay housekeeper was very helpful. She accommodated us to our double bed room and cleaned our room everyday. Our room is pretty average and very small. I got a double bed for my mom and I during our October trip. Bathroom is very small too - you can literally sit on the toilet bowl while taking a shower (talk about multitasking! lol). Add a small cabinet, cable TV and airconditioning and that just sums up the room. Hot and cold shower and wifi is available within the room - just ask Lillian for the password. They have common rooms where you can use their appliances - microwave to reheat your food, refrigerator to keep your drinks, water dispenser to refill your water bottles. The hostel building is equipped with automatic doors with pass codes that will be provided to you by Lillian along with your room key. Getting to Jetvan can be done in 3 ways - by MTR (get off in Causeway Bay station), by bus (not sure what number) or by airport shuttle (My mom and I availed the 3-day tourist MTR pass that comes with free ride in airport shuttle that goes around major hotels in the area. We got off in Parklane Hotel and walked 8 mins to Jetvan.) Best value for money budget hostel there is because of its location. I always had a great time in HK trips because of Jetvan. Will recommend to all backpackers and those travelling in a budget and doesn't mind small rooms with no hotel amenities. Who needs them anyway when you can go sightseeing, eat and shop til you drop in HongKong =D

Let me just remind everyone, this is a budget hostel, not a hotel. It's just common sense that room and bathroom are smaller, and it's not as grand as hongkong's hotels' facilities like big lobby or comfy pillows or big beds.

I stayed here 3x, I was satisfied except for my last stay. Location is excellent. Price is higher compare to other hostels in TST or Mongkong, but of course it is because it's in Causeway Bay. Everything in Causeway Bay is more expensive. Bed is just right for my size, I'm only 5'2 and the bed is around 5'5 in height. Yes, bathroom is small but it's the typical size for a budget hostel. They clean the room everyday, and they do it neatly.

For my 3x stay there, I always stayed in the triple room. All rooms has its own cabinet, but not all rooms has a fridge. Although each floor has a common fridge and water dispenser. For my last day, we stayed at the Building C (not sure of the letter, but it's the building right beside its main office). Our room was in 1st floor, and I saw 1 cockroach there. But it was just once.

For reservations, email them and if you're SURE that you'll be staying there, ask for the paypal link for a deposit on your 1st night to make sure you have the right price. There are a lot of guests asking for prices and saying they'll reserve the nights, but they don't actually show up. Try to bargain, it works also. My mom were able to bargain our room, and they gave us hk$20 discount for each night.

The hostel is also near the A11 bus stop, which stops at the airport, which is an advantage.

first we called them and they rated us 3,000 pesos per room. we booked 2 rooms for Oct 16 2011 until Oct 19 2011.. after we arrived first 3hours they told us that they would charge us 4,000 pesos per room.. we talked to the owner but she disrespectfully said to us that we may leave anytime now if we won't pay 3,500 pesos each room.. we had no choice but pay 21,000 pesos for 3 nights instead of 18,000 pesos.. Rooms were clean, pillows were too thin (its like no pillow in your head), comforters were ok, bathroom is too small (can't fit 2 person at the same time), very small isle between two bed. drawer and small cabinet are available. no table for eating, no chair but has stool..

Room Tip: 4th floor of the building. too small if you have kids.. small receiving area.. very small place over...

This was my first trip to Hong Kong but I was delighted with Jetvan. The service prior to arrival was very good, prompt and polite responses to emails.

The rooms are very small but plenty big enough for one person. I was just sleeping and showering in the room and found the room very comfortable. Bed was comfy, two pillows, Air conditioning worked, space under the bed for suitcase, free wi-fi, hot and cold running water and towels (they were pretty thin but they did the job). Room was clean and location was close enough to Causeway Bay to be lively but was at the quiet end of the street and sleeping wasn't a problem.

I'd stay again on my next trip to HK.

I stayed here from December 17-21 2010, and was very happy. Ann and Lilian are very accommodating, and tried their best to help me and my sister out...i used to stay in Kingston place just across Jetvan but since they didn't answer my email i searched for another hostel and came across jetvan.

Rooms are clean, they clean it everyday. The price is great, shower room could be a bit bigger as the toilet area/shower basically shares the same space (i think this is common for hostels in hongkong as i've seen pics of other hostel's bathroom similar to it!) Other than that i enjoyed my stay there.

everyone is very helpful. rooms are cleaned everyday. Location is excellent! Price is excellent. Friendly staff, secured location.
