“Very good veggie food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2013

I was here last month. I got the set menu in the dining room that had several courses. If I went again, I would order from the a la carte menu outside. Seemed like the choices were much better.

“A veggie suprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2013

There´re two types of menus: regular 60 HK (US$ 8) and deluxe 100 HK (US$ 13). The differences are that in the deluxe you´ll get your own table despite the size of your group instead of sharing it with people you don´t know. The deluxe meal is served at the Vip room and starts at 11:30 AM and the regular starts at 1 PM. Service is a bit slow.

I´ve chosen the deluxe. The menu was: mix mushroom soup (yummy!), vegetarian spring rolls, aspargus with mushroom and cashew nut (very nice and exotic), black mushroom with vegetables, deep fried bean curd with lemon sauce and steamed rice. The food was very tasty; top notch.

After climbing all those steps to the Buddha, Po Lin Monastery´s vegetarian restaurant was a fantastic experience; I definitely recommend!

“Disgusting food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2013

I went to Lantau Island and i wanted to go to this vegetarian restaurant which i thought the food was good, because HK is not vegetarian people's paradise at all. I went there.I went to the restaurant and i paid for a set for 2 persons which was not that cheap. Staff was not long to serve. They gave maize(=corn) served with other ingredients and very spicy but it had really not good taste. When i needed a napkin they told me to go to the toilets. There were weird nems, you press it a little , the frying oil flows. There were sort of leafs looking like spinach but really singular taste, eatable because there really were nothing to eat. Soup, rice and vegetables seemed to me the only things really eatable.

“What a delightful surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2013

Many tourist attraction restaurants can be uninspiring; they've got you there, you're hungry, they don't need to try hard to impress. This is not the case at Po Lin Monastery, Hong Kong. We got the VIP package and were so surprised at the fantastic lunch at the monastery's vegetarian restaurant. Delicious! Every dish was truly excellent; fresh, delicately seasoned and very generous in size. If you're including Po Lin on your Hong Kong itinerary make sure to eat at this vegetarian restaurant. Definitely worth a stop.

“Snacks were available”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2012

WE did not use the restaurant, but chose the adjacent snack bar. Good choice of food and all vegetarian. Pleasant shaded garden setting and tables to enjoy the food.
