We stay for couple of nights to celebrate our 1st anniversary, the hotel view from our room, from the swimming pool was awesome! Love it! The location, quite far from the centre however the hotel provide shuttle bus to nearby sightseeing and central part of HK.. We definitely will recommend it to our friends and family also will stay here on our next visit.. Must Try during your tea time! Sha Tin apple pie and homemade honey cake.. :)

Best value in Hong Kong, 5 star accommodations at 3 star prices. It looks far but with the mtr station next door nothing is out of reach with a short train ride. The breakfast was surprisingly good with many western options. The staff was extremely friendly and most had no issues communicating in English. Also there are many popular attractions in sha-tin that a lot of tourists miss such as the Hong Kong heritage museum and 10,000 Buddha temple.

Spent a weekend there with my family. Services were good. All staffs were friendly. No chance to try their Chinese restaurant as it was fully booked even I called then 1 week in advance.

Check-in took 15-20 mins. Acceptable but faster would be better.

I loved my stay at the Sha Tin (May 2014). Everything was perfect – the spacious room, the king size bed, the sumptuous breakfast, the incredibly courteous staff, very quiet for sleeping. Right beside the train station. It is one of the nicest hotel stays I have ever had. Great price too. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Philippa Kelly, Berkeley, CA, USA

This hotel is like a home away from home! It is the 2nd time we have stayed there in 6 mths and would come back every week if we could. Fantastic " Regency Club" Executive Lounge, nothing is ever to much. This hotel maybe be a little out of town but the transport is on tap! Fantastic complimentary shuttle bus service to Tsim Tsa Tsui it stops at downtown Shatin on the way. The KCR ( train) is a 2 min walk away and you can catch the train to any where in HK for hardly anything OR you can go the other way to Shenzen for a bit of shopping get off at Lo Wu then go through the process of getting a visa and have a day of shopping you can be in China within 25 mins. The facilities at the hotel are great. The Chinese restaurant Shatin 18 serve an awesome Peking Duck meal which you have to order in advance 1 1/2 hrs you can have 1 course - 3 courses price differs. The swimming pool is great and they have a Hyatt Club for the little ones. The fitness club is also well equipped and very clean, you can also play tennis and hire bikes at $50 per hour HK. The hotel also has a coffee shop and does A La Carte plus a buffet and also a cake shop where you can get sandwiches and light meals. A special mention must go to Steve, Ken and Lorraine in the Regency Club who have made our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. Godfrey Kan who is the Front Office Director is incredible if you ever have the pleasure of meeting him nothing is too much for him! If you are into horse racing then this is he hotel for you location wise and when the races are at Shatin.

Room Tip: Request a high floor and water view

This is a newish, very comfortable hotel only a few minutes from University railway station.
Good size rooms, clean with a good level of furnishing.
However there is little nearby other than the train station and university buildings. Which means either the hotel restaurant or a trip further afield to eat.

We took advantage of the shuttle between this Hyatt and the one in Tsim Sha Tsui. We will stay again at Sha Tin. This is a cost effective choice in HK - you are a bit out of Kowloon etal but take the shuttle and spend the day downtown and you are set.

We had booked and paid for two rooms (1-King and 1-Twin). At check-in, we were escorted to Regency Club. We were put into a two bedroom suite with these beds. The club offered light beverages late in the evening. At Breakfast, the Club was very nice. A note - the carpet/tile sweat due to the patio doors being left open. A number of people skidded when they stepped on the tile. Maybe a closing mechanism is needed for that door.

The pool sees the sun about 11AM and into the afternoon. Entrance to the pool required walking through water showers intended to wash your feet. Lounge chair pads were left out in the rain so they were all wet.

If you are visiting Hong Kong and don't need to be downtown this is a very good choice. If it were not for the shuttle, this family of 4 wouldn't have stayed in Sha Tin. The University MRT station was quite close to the hotel and would have worked if we didn't have luggage.
