“facilities OK, but F&B prices are crazy”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

stayed here recently for prior to a family holiday. the physical facilities are OK - nice pool, room was OK; but the F&B prices were eye-wateringly expensive (even for HK!); and the service, in the pool bar and breakfast buffet were atrocious. normally i would just let it be, but i think it is best to know what to expect. was OK as a one-off, but doubt we will return.

Hyatt Regency has always been my top choice whenever I visit Hong Kong. The hotel may be a little out of the city, but the spacious room and impeccable service make this place truly special. For those who enjoy shopping, New Town Shopping Mall is just two MTR stops away.

My recent stay was exceptionally memorable thanks to a room upgrade surprise. Thank you for making my birthday special.

We stayed here for 4 nights and was great for us, just 3 minute walk to MRT station and access to all areas we wanted for the first part of our stay. Will stay again. Service was great from all areas of hotel, especially the comp transfers

Room Tip: Ask if you could have room overlooking harbour

Held a regional company meeting here. Very nice hotel and very accommodating. However I found that many people wanted to have fun after the meetings and we weren't close to any downtown area. It was inconvenient for people to access any kind of "night life". This was not the hotel's fault- just due to their location. I would go back here with family or small group.

The hotel is nice and new, with a nice pool, good bar and decent places to eat inside. It is though quite out of the city, so if you want to experience Hong Kong this is not the place to stay, but if you are traveling to China during your stay then its close to the border. Its also right on an MTR stop so it easy easy to get around. My main complaint is that recently they added a for charge wifi service and the free on has become quite poor, so if you will be using the internet for conference calls like I did you can be prepared to be cut off.

Stayed at the hotel with family, experienced courteous and prompt service. A family friendly place with some interesting ideas to keep you engaged. In case you are bored you can always take the hotel shuttle to Tsim Tsa Tsui. The views from the hotel are great. While it gives a resort feel, however you remain connected with the mainland, courtesy the university metro station which is only a one minute walk away.... Also sha tin area offers nearby interesting attractions. A visit to the 10000 Buddhas temple and the IKEA store can be a good idea. In short I loved it. Lastly, the best place to have a quick breakfast is the pastry shop. In short, we loved the hotel.

My family stayed at the Hyatt Shatin for the first time in Nov 2013. I was a bit apprehensive initially as it is not the usual city locations that we used to stay when we are in Hong Kong. But I was pleased with my choice as the rooms were much larger then those in the city and enjoyed the unusual quietness in the night. This is not something you associate Hong Kong with. The nearby shopping centre is also big enough to satisfy my shopping cravings with most brands available there. A nice change for us. Will definitely stay there again.
