“For Luxury business purpose”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

enjoyed my stay in Hyatt regency , it's quiet and luxury , the reception's employees are meticulously accurate , friendly and professional , rooms are clean, tidy and have an amazing view which overlook Sha Tin bay and the main freeway ,the limo service is very good , i recommend it mainly for business trips in Hong Kong , but it is far away the downtown and the main attractions in Hong Kong island , Lantau island and the airport , we had to take subway from Sha Tin ( University station) to downtown ( Central or Admiralty Station ) and it takes 45 min. duration one way trip , but overall it deserves a five stars ,

Room Tip: Choose a room in higher floor , better view and away from the freeway noise ,,,

Stayed at this hotel as part of a conference and in that regard it was excellent. Rooms were very big with great desk/business facilities. Gym was one of the best I've seen (great aircon too!) and breakfast had an amazing selection too.

Other than that, location is quite far from central HK with very few dining options in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (other than the hotel itself, which isn't cheap as you can imagine). Probably more of a business rather than holiday hotel if that's what you're after. Awesome for business though.

If you want to be in Sha Tin, this is your best option. It is located right outside or the MTR station and there are lots of transportation options from the hotel. Rooms have a simple design and have a decent size relative to most more centrally located hotels in Hong Kong. I wish the staff was a little nicer and more generous with the room upgrades. If you want to be in Hong Kong and get a good priced hotel in a quiet area, this should be your choice.

On my last trip to Sha Tin in November 2013, I stayed at the Regal Riverside and was not impressed. This time I decided to pay a bit more and stayed at the Hyatt, which was actually better placed for my needs as I needed to be at the Chinese University and it was almost on campus. The MTR station (and all of Hong Kong by extension!) was just a few minutes walk away.
I upgraded my booking to a superior room and included breakfast. The room was spotless and roomy, had a pleasant view and a very nice bathroom with separate bath and shower. WiFi was included in the room rate both in my room and the lobby. Breakfast was exactly what you would expect from a good quality hotel, very acceptable and plenty of choice.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, upgrade

stayed here recently for prior to a family holiday. the physical facilities are OK - nice pool, room was OK; but the F&B prices were eye-wateringly expensive (even for HK!); and the service, in the pool bar and breakfast buffet were atrocious. normally i would just let it be, but i think it is best to know what to expect. was OK as a one-off, but doubt we will return.

Hyatt Regency has always been my top choice whenever I visit Hong Kong. The hotel may be a little out of the city, but the spacious room and impeccable service make this place truly special. For those who enjoy shopping, New Town Shopping Mall is just two MTR stops away.

My recent stay was exceptionally memorable thanks to a room upgrade surprise. Thank you for making my birthday special.

We stayed here for 4 nights and was great for us, just 3 minute walk to MRT station and access to all areas we wanted for the first part of our stay. Will stay again. Service was great from all areas of hotel, especially the comp transfers

Room Tip: Ask if you could have room overlooking harbour
