Stayed three nights in one of there lowest price rooms without any balcony. Was meant for up to double occupancy but the tight confines of the room and the fact the bed is wedged against the wall and the wall by the door to the room in front means you better be on very familiar terms with whoever you share the room with. Was on the fifth floor and there is no elevator. Getting up the five floors was a chore especially when tired from a day out in the oppressive heat. The room only had small windows in the bathroom that looked out onto the backs of apartment towers nearby - so essentially no view to speak of. A kettle and a fridge were provided in the room and the TV has an acceptable choice of channels for those who speak english.

The Mingle Place was cheaper than other grander hotels in the area, but you get what you pay for and you are definitely giving up space and comfort to come here.

The washroom was very small and the height and condition of the shower nozzle less than ideal. There was not much space to put your toiletries and the electrical outlet in the bathroom did not seem to be functional.

The location can be good especially if you plan to be out late in Wan Chai. An easy 5 minute walk from the bars and clubs in Wan Chai to this hotel. The Wan Chai metro station is also a 5 minute walk away and the famous double decks trams are just a block away.

Nearby are many noodle places and other restaurants including a 24 hour McDonalds. Seven Elevens are everywhere nearby for snacks and drinks and also stock a handy SIM card for your phone. I was able to get at Hong Kong SIM at one of the Seven Eleven's only a block from the hotel after the several other locations including the airport Seven Eleven were out of stock. https://www.pccw-hkt.com/en/Prepaid-Discover-HK-Tourist-SIM-Card/

If you are coming from the Airport instead of taking the Express train and the shuttle bus to get here you can take the E11 bus for only $21HK and be dropped off very near the hotel on Hennessy Road. http://www.nwstbus.com.hk/routesearch.aspx?t=1404068206226&intLangID=1

My title says it mostly. The rooms are small but the location was good, and I had a comfortable 5 nights there. Rooms are clean, everything worked, and check in staff were friendly. I forgot a power supply there, and they kept it at reception for a friend to pick up a couple of weeks later. Good for the price and I already booked it for my next trip in August.

Small room, good for solo traveler. Noiseless surrounding. Walking distance to Expo Promenade, Wan Chai ferry terminal, easy to get food along Hennessy road, walked to the famous horse racing venue, Happy Valley. Clean room. Typical Hong Kong style small room.

This place was overall a good experience. I got the Lite Room with a balcony at a good price relative to all other places in Wan chai area. Location was great for me as I had meetings at the Vine church just round the corner. However, like as mentioned in earlier reviews, this room is small and only fits one person. The bed is only big enough for people under 170cm. A concrete column is beside the bed which makes it less spacious but overall I was fine with the room as it was value for money at around hk400/night. Management has put in effort to ensure cleanliness and it looks newly renovated.

As I was at the balcony room on the second floor it was very noisy at night due to the buses.

Note that there are no lifts at all if you have heavy luggage. But as its only a few floors, it shouldn't be an issue for backpackers etc.

Wifi was fast and easy to connect to in the room. Clean towels and toiletries ever day.
Newspaper also in every room.

Overall, this was a great respite for those on a budget wanting
their own room. Just don't expect to invite people to your room if you plan to stay in the Lite room!

We booked a room through CheapTickets - at 0ver $120 a night, it is definitely overpriced. They gave us a room on the 4th floor (NO ELEVATOR) but did send a couple of maids to carry my big suitcase up the stairs. The site we booked this on did not emphasize the absence of an elevator, so beware - if you have a suitcase larger than a computer backpack, this is gonna be very inconvenient. I did go ballistic after seeing the room - little more than a closet, with an even smaller bathroom and no windows! We of course complained and they moved us to a bigger room facing the street, and it had one window. If you are new to Hong Kong, you should know Wan Chai is the seediest part - though it still feels quite safe, considering the red light district is a few blocks from the hotel. One good thing is it's proximity to the Wan Chai metro station/trams/buses. The hotel is also quite clean. As in most small hotels in the island, it is a challenge to find English-speaking staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Wan Chai Road. They'll have windows and the view won't be too dep...

The location of the hotel is very good! Wan Chai is near the ferry terminals to macau, and the trams transport is most enjoyable and convenient. The room that I requested came with the balcony which has good view of the busy street with hanging neon signs.
The room is generally clean. The bathroom is reasonably big enough to bath. Just that the classic small sink is rather useless other than transporting water from the tap to hot water flash. You can brush you teeth there, and you can't wash anything which is 20cm wide inside. The floor space is rather small too, I need to opened my luggage by putting it on my lap. I am lucky I did not have a big luggage. There is a safe in the cabinet, but it is too light, seemed able to be carried away easily, and that did not prove its safe-ness in anyway. We stayed at level 5, and it was a good workout every day to walk the stairs. The theme of the hotel is nice (a little like Hkg drama where you need to hide in this hotel from your enemy and ready to elope in the night by boat..haha) and I think it is more worth it than those older and more expensive hotel near the MTR station. Oh also, we realised that Public Bus 15 to Peak will pass by wanchai, and we alighted along the way to walk back to the hotel.

Room Tip: For the rate, just be reasonable with the expensive space in HKG, excellent location and interesting...

This place has small rooms but is in an excellent place in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The bathrooms are clean and well equipped Everything in walking distance and really value for money. Having stayed in HK many times, I certainly will come back again.
