The hotel is nice. However first I got a Deluxe-Habour view room - I was not impressed when I saw it - as it was quit small. I went to the reception and asked if they sure gave me Deluxe and not Standard room. They said that the only diffrence between 2 rooms is the view - Deluxe room has a Habour view, but the size and the rest is the same. As I wanted to have a larger room they proposed me a Premier- room, I had to pay extra, but I liked it. As the room is larger, nicer and has a separate sofa- this room corresponds with a 5* status. But I think if you count all together the price will be the same as 5* hotels in Kowloon or Central, so may be no need to go to North Point if you take Premium room. If you are satisfied with Standard ot Deluxe room (small) then for the price it worth to go to Habour Grand as it will be cheaper then Intercontinental or so.
The swimming pool is nice, as well as sauna.
Breakfast also very goods , also the view from the main restaurant .
Convinient free shuttle to Airport Express - only 10 min.(however in the hotel they said it will take about 40 min. as the bus has to go to other hotels as well - not true)

Would only go back if I would take Premium room or Suite.

Stayed 3 nights as a stop-over on route to the UK. Is slightly out of the way but there is a train/metro station on a minute or two walk up the street that connects with Causeway Bay and the main areas of Hong Kong island. Room was excellent, front of house staff very helpful, the pool was very refreshing after a day in the heat and humidity of Hong Kong, and the view over the water between Hong Kong island and the mainland was superb. Paid the extra to be upgraded to the "club floor" - worth the extra - afternoon tea if about, happy hour every evening, cocktails and canapes that constitiuted a full dinner every night. Excellent breakfast and the view was amazing. Would stay there again.

It's all about the view. It's remote (North Point), surrounded by motor repair shops (hence Oil Street), delapidated vacant buildings and the working part of the harbour.
The general feel is Chinese new money meets ersatz art nouveau - perfectly underlined by the harp played in the evenings in the cavernous, sterile, stone clad lobby.
The deluxe rooms look straight up the harbour (it's all about the v iew!) but are small. The fittings are getting a bit worn and shabby even though the hotel is less than 2 years old. I think they were all made at a B grade mainland factory. Appearance is more important than practical comfort.
The service ranged from great -the Concirege, Daniel, a veteran of many HK 5 star hotels- to incredibly rude - the shuttle bus driver couldn't give a damn (3 trips and always the same rudeness).
Don't bother with the Club. The staff to guest ratio was low and the range of food and drinks merely adequate. Having just stayed at the Westin in Guangzhou, the difference was huge. (no eggs for breakfas tunless specifically ordered, repeated requests for replenishment and a queue for the one, self operated coffee machine). The Harbour Club manager should visit some other real 5 star hotels to see how it's done. The extra US$100 a day is NOT worth it - except for the view, after all, it's what the hotel is all about. Then to top it all of they charge ANOTHER HK130 a day for internet, even in the Club rooms.
This is NOT a 5 star hotel. Stay somewhere else - I'll be at the Langham Place again in future.

I paid around 1400 HKD a night for a Superior Harbour View, which was good value. The room was small but adequate size, with a very comfortable bed, flat screen TV with a reasonable selection of channels. Loads of wardrobe space, and the bathroom was good with a separate bath and shower. The view of the harbour was not towards Kowloon as I'd hoped, but more to the East. Still a nice view though.

The location is okay, if a little far from the main sights. 5 minutes walk to Fortress Hill MTR station, or, for the cheaper option, the nearest tram stop is just a few minutes walk. Tram journey to Admiralty is around 10 or 15 minutes.

The free shuttle from the Airport Express station is efficient, taking around 10 minutes from the station, and about 20-25 mins to get from the Hotel to Hong Kong station on the return. It runs every 20 mins.

I stayed in Harbour Grand for 5 days after Dubai visit. It meets all the requirement a five stars hotel should be. Many visitors might find it in a deprive area, but this part of Hong Kong is older. Revamp of the area is going on. The street is quiet but the streets are well lifted. Is safe to walk around.
I only be to the gym/swimming pool/ sauna, is okay. Apart from that, I didn't try out any rest.
The only thing that disappoint me is the lift. It seems to take quiet long, even tho the hotel have 6 lifts operate in a system that certain lifts only stop on selected floors.
For a five stars hotel, european turnover, none.

Will I go back? To be very honest, this hotel never been my choice. The reason I stay there is because it is close to a relative who is in ill health. But saying so, Harbour Grand is the best hotel in this area. The price is reasonable. The room is bigger than many nearby hotel which might be cheaper but the room is really tiny.

Nice hotel BUT the Reception staff is not well trained, friendly or accomadating.
Breakfast is nice but a bit steep at 210 HKD per adult and 140 HKD for kids. There is pressure from reception staff to upgrade the room for only $45 USD per night - but Superior Room and Deluxe Room are exactly the same square feet!!!.
Internet is $17 USD per connection. So if you have 2 adults with laptops and a kid with an iPad - you pay $51 USD extra for internet!
Nothing too much near hotel, you have to take a taxi or metro everywhere.
Pool is nice, health club is too small. Roof restaurant and bar are nice.
Rollaway bed does not easily fit in Superior or Deluxe Room - so you have to pay for an upgrade - so for 2 adults and 1 child count on $245 USD per night plus breakfast - so over $310 per night incl of breakfast. Many nice hotels in Hong Kong can beat that with better address.

Room Tip: Superior and Deluxe Rooms are same square feet!!!

We travelled with our toddler and needed a babycot, so there was no space to move around with it in the room. But space is a general problem in hk tough ;) Breakfast buffet was pricey for what was being offered. In general customer service sucks i hk, and you are often looked down at if you do not wear the right branded clothes or show off clothes, and this was also the case at this hotel. The male staff at the gym was unfriendly and cold. The pool had a very nice view. This hotel is probably good value for money if you are a business traveller but i would not recommend it for families w small children. The staff knocked on our door, but would immediately storm in uninvited. The purpose of the visit was to check on how we were doing.
