I'd been here 4 month and I want warn you to don't stay there.
Is just for Chinese toursit (low manners) stay a few days but if you need stay here longer there are no menaing except the cheaper rate (sea view rate 17.000 hk$ monthly).
The management is "against" you, not there to help you (for example you forget something in your apartment and you ask them to leave a few minute you luggage in the lobby they say no !).
They aren't flexible for any you would need, just want money and they don't accept Amex, IPS.
There's not air condition in the elevator and floors so in hot season you can't brace.
The cleaning service is something obscene.
There's not any free internet connection except in the lobby but if you need privacy and get internet service into your apartment you have to pay 200 HK$ per month to get only 10Mb with the most worst HK telecomunications company and always the service will be fully down or extremely low. If you want use a router to have wi fi in your apt you'll have to buy in your own and when connected the phone into your apt will not work.
Forget to ask any help to the management cause they are able to make you only silly questions and say you have to use the cable provided by hotel but any way the phone will not work than they'll stop to answer you.
Laundry service is expensive and always shirts and paints are ironed extremely bad.
No one will help you if you have to move luggage or if you're in trouble.
Typically style of locals: they only care your money than after you had payed you can gonna die.

Very poor hotel management. The staff is very rigid, very inconsiderate. They are not there to help the tenants. They are there to enforce the hotel rule which is set to protect the landlord, and to ensure their profit at a minimum service. When you check out, rememory to bring the original key, not a duplicate, - or else they will charge you HKD 200 for each key which they just collect to dispose. The out dated Hitachi TV is a joke considering the very high rent. Nevermind asking the front desk for any help - as said earlier, they are not there to help you.

Horizon Suite is located in HK suburbs (Ma On Shan, New Territories), about 40-min drive from downtown Kowloon/HK island. That being said, the hotel is well connected by public transport, with the Ma On Shan MTR station just 10 min away on foot, and a bus terminal near the station with a variety of buses and minivans which could bring you to literally anywhere in town. The hotel provides free hourly shuttles to Shatin and Diamond Hill, and a fee charging one (HK$10) to Tsim Sha Tsui. However, tickets are only sold in a book of 10. A totally unreasonable arrangement. There is no refund for unused tickets. So plan your trips wisely.

Apartment size is decent by HK standard. The seaview is magnificent, with a jogging trail right in front. Clubhouse facilities include outdoor swimming pool, sauna, and a gym. There is a small supermarket and a Chinese restaurant attached to the hotel. A good choice for those who would prefer to enjoy a relaxing stay in a very busy city.

At first sight, you may like it - grand reception hall, relatively big hotel rooms, beautiful sea view.
However, if you stay there longer, you'll find it quite annoying, in particular, it's unbearable poor hotel management. just a few examples:
1, false alarms. Not once or twice, but too many false alarms happened these past few months - so many times that now even fire brigade would refuse to come to the hotel for rescue! Each time, you'd hear the shrieking alarms, red light beaming, and panic residents including many panting pregnants (a popular choice for them nowadays!) fleeing to the reception. Invariably each time, you'd get none explanation from the hotel - securities claiming none of their business, while frontdesk innocently and helplessly saying they didnot know what was happening. Again it's the same that none notice/explanation/apology from the hotel management afterwards!
2, Room maintenance: as a hotel with some years, it's understandable that the falicilities need frequent renovations. However, their way of handling hotel residents's inquiry/complaints is extremely discouraging. If you called the frontdesk to report sth., say the drainage is blocked or there's no water in the room, the standard answer you'd get is "I don't know", followed by either "Can I have your phone number so that to call you back?" -- then there's a half half chance that no one would call you at all, or "how about I pass you onto the maintenance colleagues?" -- then again a half chance that no one answers you. Much patience is really needed of you.
3, Untransparant fees for utilities: the hotel would charge you the so-called utility management fee (actually under HK stipulation, the hotel has no right to charge any guests electricity bill at first place- only utility company can), however you'd never know why the bill is so high. So this month they charge you HKD200, next month it could be HKD600 or HKD800. Wanna an eletricity meter readings? No way! The best explanation from the hotel is that they have a system automatically calculating the volumes -- sometimes it's under upgrading, thus unable to give the readings, sometimes simply we don't have it! Requiring the guest to pay a bill without any detail but a grand total - just simply a normal practice here.
4, Noises: it's kind of ever noisy, if you happen to stay in rooms facing the road - more and more vehicles tend to use it. If you say OK the hotel can't control the traffic, but how about the tourist buses stationing outside the hotel (btw, it's also a popular tour-group designated hotel), with motors running noisely even in early Saturday mornings? What would you say if the hotel suggests "why don't you close the window"?
....... .......
In all, it might be a good choice for tourists planning to stay for a few days, while for longer-term residents, just think about it.

Room Tip: Not for long-stay

This is under a hotels and resorts group which belonged to tycoon Lee Ka Shing Cheung Kong Group in Hong Kong.
Address is 29 On Chun Street, Ma On Shan, Shatin, Hong Kong.
The only good things about it are tight security and fresh waterfront air so valuable in a busy city.
This is a "furnished" flat, not a hotel; you have to pay for housekeeping service, you have to pay for your own utility (electricity, water, TV set and phone rental), and they name it utility management and charge you expensive. Can you imagine that you are viewing an old-fashioned small Hitachi TV set !
Shuttle buses are smelly.
This "hotel" is wearing off; staff might knocked at your door in mid of the night to check smoke detector as they were warned by their old malfunctioned panel, and fire alarm on individual floors went off anytime during the day or night (even in mid of night), and there was never any management apology for these false alarms. People tend to dis-regard these alarms and if there is a real one in the future, it will be a fatal one. This "hotel" is getting old !
Better beware every time you hear the alarm as in April 21, another sister hotel named Harbor Grand Luxury Hotel was on hazardous big fire, it was under same group and same old !
You'd be prepared to find tiny cockroaches in the sewage in the bath room.
You inquired the front desk staff for responsible department head; they subtlely gave you only a supervisor name. It seems they do not welcome comments and suggestions.

Room Tip: Very poor management, and rate is not cheap !

We used to live in Horizon Suites hotel in Ma On Shan. At that time, there were shorter term lease arrangements that could be made.

However it seems, after recently inquiring for a guest, that they only offer 1 month minimum stays now. These days, it seems Horizon Suites Hotel is more or less exclusively for long-term (+1 month) stays and the bus loads of mainland Chinese tourists that come each week/weekend for travel packages to Hong Kong. During our visit last week we saw two bus loads of mainland tourists unload and file into Horizon as we talked to the front desk attendant.

You can sign up for up to 12 mth. stays here, making it a good option for short-term expats more interested in suburban community instead of the hustle and bustle of the city, 30-40 min. away by MTR (Ma On Shan - MTR) while the live/work in HK.

Because you can get very nice hotel rooms in HK, including the Hyatt-Shatin, just across the harbour, it is difficult to recommend Horizon Suite Hotel in Ma On Shan for hotel stay, even if you are coming for 1-2 mths.

However, if you have longer-term stay in Hong Kong for perhaps 6+ months and want a more suburban serviced apartment, Horizon in Ma On Shan isn't a bad option.

Rooms are well maintained and functional (a bit of an IKEA fill to them). Bath and showers worked well, there is a small Park-n-shop, a very nice outdoor pool overlooking Tolo harbour. They offer transport service to Central, TST, Diamond Hill and Shatin, also only 10-12 minute walk to the Ma On Shan MTR.

For this type of stay in Hong Kong, we recommend looking into the Horizon Suite in Ma On Shan as well as their Harbourview and Harbourfront facilities near Hung Hom. These two are more expensive due to their location close to Victoria Harbour.
