“Minuscule room”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 October 2013

Basically if I opened my suitcase, I could not walk around the room. The room was clean but obvious traces of a water leak near the window have not been repaired for quite a while.

Location is OK on Lockhart road.

Staff could go on a guest satisfaction course and smile a little more

I stayed here because it was walking distance to the Chinese consulate, and I wanted to be first in line at the visa center (especially on Monday morning). I've actually stayed here twice. It's a bit more expensive than other places in HK but it was in the location I wanted to be.

It's a little difficult to see from the street. The standard room isn't very big (literally only sleeps two on the bed, no floor room), but it's clean. The second time I was upgraded to the deluxe room for free, much bigger! You could put two in the bed, then like 8-10 more on the floor, and 3-4 on the floor of the bathroom if needed! haha, but don't do that it'd be uncomfortable. Upgrade to the deluxe it's well worth the money!!

There's plenty of places to eat around the hotel, and the subway is just a few blocks away. Nice little spot to stay.

The hotel has a good location and has a very good price-quality.
If you look for a clean and efficient hotel at an affordable price, this is your place to stay.
If you are all day out and just come to the hotel, this is an ideal place.

So I need an inexpensive to stay in August but many hotels were >US$150 a night. This place had decent reviews and the rates were reasonable. I didn't require anything fancy......just a clean room in a good location.

Check-in was easy and as noted in the name of the joint, free wi-fi is included. They also have a desktop PC for internet use as well.

It was a short walk to either Wan Chai or Causeway Bay MTR.

The room was small as expected but clean and serviceable. This is a no-frills hotel so don't expect alot.

Room Tip: If taking a taxi, get the name of the hotel and address in Chinese. Many taxi drivers don't know...

Atrocious is the first word that comes to mind. Rip Off, the second and Rude the third.

What turned out to be a late arrival (1 day late) thanks to the Utor typhoon (after being in a flight for 16 hours), we were first greeted with a slim door of an entrance. The reception is on the 2nd floor and the elevator to it is DARK (by which I mean has black upholstery, mirrors and weird lights).
Three ladies manned the reception, and the first shock was that they had charged us for the all the days of our stay including the day we did not make it. It is our policy, we were told. A booking equates to a charge on your card. Period. We suggested that the charge be reversed and we pay by cash, to which they say they would take the cash but cannot promise on the reversal. All this with the family, which has been stuck on an airport in a flight, thanks to a typhoon, with no hint of 'customer service' from the hotel staff.
The ladies of the family were downstairs with the bags and we were told, there is no bell boy, as we are a 'boutique hotel'. They should essentially be rechristening this place as no-frills (rather than boutique, a gross misrepresentation of everything on offer).
We asked to see the rooms first. But instead were told to first pay a deposit to even see the rooms, just incase 'we break something or cause damage to the rooms' ! Unacceptable as a general practise, you generally have an option of seeing which room you were allocated with a choice to change. I was not surprised that the family was split into 2 different floors (as the rooms were not available together). This trump card after we pay the deposit and are given the keys.
The ladies in the all this time, were rude. There is literally no other word to describe it. Sarcastic and snide in their demeanour.
The room are pigeon holes, in terms of size and two people cannot walk into a room together.
The bathroom drains are clogged. The shower cubicles barely allow you to stand and move.
There are bed bugs and mosquitoes on the 1st floor.
The interiors are garish.
Our flight out of Hong Kong was in the evening and the check out time was 12.00pm. We asked for a late check out, and they said it would cost $200 for every hour deducted from the deposit, even if it was a minute more.
The location of the hotel is in the middle of a hardware street and there is NO view to anything.
Its been dubbed as a 3/4 star hotel. I would give it 2 stars at best.
Quite literally and easily the worst hotel, we have stayed in all our years of travelling.

Room Tip: I am positive there are better places than WiFi to stay in HongKong, so do yourself a favour and fin...

We booked this hotel based up to our expectations. Very friendly staff, they delivered on any request we had.
A living museum, sensitively and stylishly restored, beautifully maintained.
Absolutely loved The Park. Impeccable service, lovely rooms, amazing restaurants. Perfection.
Super location within walking distance of several street markets.
Pick up and drop off service from the airport were excellent with good drivers.
The pool was excellent. Breakfast buffet was also very good and we had dinner one night at the hotel and the service and food were also excellent and Wifi service is very good.
The room we had was big, well furnished and was just as nice as the rest of the hotel.
We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed twice at this hotel - one room had a better external view - but not an issue for us”
