“Good location, clean, but staff can't speak English”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

I stayed for 4 days in april 2012, and this is my second hostel during my visit to Hong Kong. Compared to other two, Yue Fai has a better room, it's clean, big, and beautifully designed. The Wifi is fast and great.

The location is great, you won't find a problem with line in the lift as you'll find in Chungking Mansion (Yue Fai located in Sincere House). It's close to restaurants and shopping center, MTR station, and the harbor.

The only problem is that not all of its staff can speak english. They're actually nice but you'll find difficulties when you want or need something (like if you want to extend your stay).

Location is very strategic. Near to almost everything.
Rooms were clean. Nice staff and fast wireless internet.

Room Tip: Room E123 is nice and the bathroom is spacious.

We stayed here for 4 days. The location is pretty nice (Nathan Road) because of it's accessibility to the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station which is very near the building also to some malls (I-Square, SOGO) as well as a few minutes walk going to the Avenue of the Stars. There are just a lot of Indian nationals who'd bug you to buy "fake" watches outside.

The rooms are okay. Not really big but good enough. It's clean and they do regular housekeeping. The bathrooms are also nice and clean with all the essentials. WiFi in the rooms was good.

The staff are nice. Very accommodating.

Downside:
We just didn't like how the smell was like in the corridors because of some guests. It was horrible during the first few days but after talking to the staff I believe they did something about it or we just got used to the smell.

Hao’s Inn was actually not the Guesthouse which we had booked, but the lady on the reception told us or better tried to make us clear, that the Guesthouse from the 5th and 6th floor belong together. It was very hard to understand what she wanted to tell us, because she couldn’t speak English at all. We actually wanted to stay for 5 nights (we booked the room three weeks in advance) and then she told us, that we had to stay two nights in the guesthouse on the 5th floor and then three nights in the guesthouse on the 6th floor, so we told her that we don’t want to move the room, because we booked the room so early in advance, that we expected to have no problem. So all in all it was a big chaos and the lady even got a little bit unfriendly in the end. Nevertheless we have to say that the room was okay, clean and the location was just perfect.

Reviewed 3 February 2011

I booked a room from Yiu Fai guesthouse for 2 nights and for 350 HKD per night just beofre the Chinese New Year. However, after check in I was taken downstairs to a room that belonged to Hao's Inn. After seeing the room I do not complain! The room I got was very spacious for Hong Kong standards for 350 HKD per night. It seems that the room was just renovated with everything clean and in great condition. The bed was huge and the bathroom was an actual bathroom with separate enclosed shower space. Very fast Wifi also in the room. The only downside was that the walls seemed to be pretty thin so that quite a lot of noise came from the hallway and from upstairs. A double room such as this for 350 HKD per night is – at least as I see it – superb value for such a location in Hong Kong. Recommended!
