The T Hotel
Ranked #10 of 725 Hotels in Hong Kong
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 8 August 2013

The T hotel was probably the best kept secret in Hong Kong but with all of the terrific reviews it gets the harder it is to book this magnificent valued property in Hong Kong.

It is a "Training Hotel" where students get truly 1st hand experience in all aspects of hotel operation such as, reservations and registration personnel, waiters and waitresses, kitchen staff, housekeeping, laundry, guest services, concierge and the like all under the guidance and supervision of excellent management and trainers who also assist with language translation since most of the students only speak the local language.

The hotel is located about 15 minutes by cab from Central. It is comprised of about 30 rooms on a single floor of a Chinese training facility over looking the South China Sea and Hong Kong harbor.

The rooms are magnificent with only the finest of bedding and linens. Spotless bathrooms that have both a bath (with an in wall TV) and separate shower. the shower has a standard wall mount shower head also and overhead rain shower. Both provide ample water flow and as hot as you like. They even give you little rubber duckies toys for the bath each night. The in room amenities are that of 5 star hotels complete with a fully stocked mini bar, tea kettle, snacks, bath robes, iron, hair dryer etc. yet the cost is only that of local 3 star properties. There is a small desk area complete with docking stations and charging capabilities for most electronics. Flat screen TV's with multiple channels is another valued asset. The view from the room is spectacular at any time of day or night which you can enjoy comfortably while seated by the window.

The restaurant / dining room provides awesome views throughout the day and night while you enjoy wonderfully prepared and presented meals at very reasonable prices. I chose to have the breakfast included in my room rate. The breakfast buffet is one that everyone can enjoy. Fresh eggs and omelette are prepared in moments. Bacon, sausage, baked beans, fried tomatoes along with a varied selection of Asian cuisine. A selection of the finest meats and cheeses fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals and fresh breads and pastries is also there for you to choose from.

" Afternoon High Tea " is also a delightful treat. At dinner time they offer a limited menu as they do not cater to a large number if clients each evening as most guests are also experiencing other eateries in Hong Kong to. The limited menu however is more than adequate for most palates.

There is a fully functional gym, a new spa, with limited services at this time, and a business center for those in need.

The hotel provides a free shuttle service to various locations three times a day. They have cards printed with the local bus service routes, and have a list of distances to various locations, approximate taxi costs and travel times.

Honeymooners, families singles and couples will all like this hotel.

It does not get much better than this in Hong Kong and for the price you pay it is really a very good deal.

Thank you to each and everyone at the T hotel. See you next year, god willing.

No doubt if I return to Hong Kong, this is where I will stay.

The staff at this hotel are what makes it so lovely. From being greeted by name each time (even just the day after checking in!) to their genuine eagerness to help in any way, this hotel offers 5 star service.

Check in was a breeze and the room was gorgeous and spacious for HK standards. I especially loved the delicious plate of cookies and chocolate (which I devoured and eagerly awaited delivery of!) delivered daily with the turn down service.

I dined at the restaurant and was flabbergasted with the beautiful view and the amazingly priced food! I had the lamb cutlets and was blown away by their tenderness and tastiness.

I took advantage of their training spa during my stay and it was brilliant. Exactly what I needed on my holiday. The spa attendant was polite, friendly and an absolute professional. She'll be a great spa profession once she's done training.

On my last day, I ordered room service breakfast and inadvertently requested items not on the menu as a set but was told straight away, "You can have anything you like." My request was promptly delivered. That, is amazing service.

Don't hesitate. Book this place. Some say it's out of the way but it was just a 10 Min drive to Hong Kong station and from there you can get the MTR anywhere. I took the hotel shuttle most days and caught a taxi back (worked out to be about $6AUD).

We stayed at the T Hotel for 4 nights during our first stop on our honeymoon - Hong Kong. Yes, it is a little bit "out" of the way, but that's exactly what we wanted. It's a 20-30 min bus ride into/from Central and there is also a shuttle that takes you into Central every morning for free. We took advantage of this and had no complaints! Taxi to/from airport was the way to go for us. Coming "home" to this hotel every evening was perfect and relaxing, since we were tired from sightseeing all day. Breakfast was amazing - lots of Western food as well as local specialties - something for everyone. We also ordered room service one evening and that was very tasty. Yes, it's a training hotel and they are trying to learn and do their best, so just go along with it. The view from our room was incredible (ocean view) and so was the view from the breakfast room. We slept like kings/queens, the bed was so large and comfortable and the hotel was very silent. Since we were on our honeymoon, they gave us a plate of fruits upon arrival and chocolates as well. Complimentary water bottles were great and the bathroom had a full set of toiletries - from nail file to body wash and combs. I would definitely recommend this hotel for all couples. You get 4/5 star service for half the price!

Room Tip: Ocean View room has an amazing view and is romantic!

Have just stayed for 3 nights at this teaching hotel. Have to say when the students finish their studies they will be ready for any 5 star hotel in the world. The trainers are so professional, the students are so eager to learn and the accommodation, food and assistance given is far better than any 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in. Congratulations to managment on such a great environment.

Room Tip: ask for an ocean view room otherwise every room is exactly the same - beautiful

I just returned from my trip to HK. This is the best hotel I ever stayed in HK with excellent service and huge rooms with beautiful scenic views. Reminds me of Kimpton's in US, but better. Blackout curtains, comfortable beds like Westin, ceiling mount rainfall showerheads were a nice touch. I always looked forward to returning to the hotel in the evening for the chocolates. I also liked the fact that there is a kettle in the room to boil water for tea. It is not a coffee machine like most hotels expect one to boil water in. The bathroom amenities was excellent. They even had slippers, toothbrushes, and combs.
The buffet breakfast was great. It had a nice variety of western and eastern dishes. I asked the chef what was the condiments in the asian dish (looked like pickled vegetables), he disappeared in the kitchen, and when he finally came back, I asked him again, and he disappeared to the kitchen again. I will never find out what kind of vegetable that is pickled. I wished they would be offer HK milk tea as an option rather than just western teas and coffees. One of the students was innovative, and said she will try to make the HK milk tea, and warned me it might not be like the tea at the restaurants but the main thing was she tried making it, and it was great.
Wifi was free. It seems the more expensive the hotel room, the hotel tends to charge for everything like wifi or parking.
The only things I did not like is this hotel is
...it is not great for families who like to share a room. I had to get 2 rooms as the limit is 2 people per room. Despite my early reservation (3 months' advance booking), and request for 2 rooms to be close together, the rooms they gave us was far apart from each other. 10 room numbers apart.
It is far from the city, though the public buses were just outside the hotel, and takes 30 minutes to get to Mongkok by bus. The A10 bus goes to/from the airport which is convient.
Overall, a great hotel to get away from the hustle of the city.

Discovered "T Hotel" here, at Trip Advisor, after almost cancelling my trip do Hong Kong due to hotels high cost in HK! And believe me (us) : "T Hotel" is a 5* category with a 3* cost ! Hiper clean, luxurious, nice atmosphere and views, excellent room with great minibar prices, and a breakfast buffet to indulge yourself.Staff is nice, and not intrusive, all that have been said already by others reviewers. Stayed just one night s (most of the time stood at the Novotel, who slashed prices a few days before my arrival - another review too).Making things shorte : do not miss the "T Hotel" !!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with harbour view (in advance)!

Brilliant place. Although a little distanve outside the centre on Hong Kong island the extra distance is more than compensated by the hotel. With o ly about 30 rooms it is a very small and frinedly place. The staff are all super polite as they are truing to do their best to impress their teachers. The rooms are really large, certainly for the price, with magnificent views out on to the sea. There is a well equiped gym. The breakfast buffet was very complete, including fresh omletes, and from 10am until 10pm there is excellent food available from the a la carte menu. Room service is from the same menu, at no surcharge, and the mini bar price are extremely low (just over a dollar for a can of beer).
All in all and excellent place, really good value for money with great service
