A friend and I stayed here in mid-June while we were attending a conference in Hong Kong. We were impressed with the hotel from the very moment we arrived. The exterior is gorgeous, and the interior is so luxe. It was really easy to reach from the Hong Kong airport, especially with the free shuttle from the subway as described on the hotel website.
The room was extraordinary. We were upgraded for free to a harbour view room, and it was stunning! The small details throughout the place were exceptional, from the comfy slippers and bathrobes to the free snacks in the mini-bar. Service was wonderful from every staff member we encountered -- and everyone spoke English very well.
Because the hotel was in the soft opening phase, we got a great discounted rate. That also meant that they was a little bit of work being done in the hotel at times, like retiling certain parts of the lobby floor. But this honestly caused us no inconvenience.
I would strongly recommend the Hotel ICON. Great price, comfortable rooms, lovely service!

The ambiance, the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, the location, the Hotel itself is modern, yet the people and staff are the ones making his hotel a true ICON. They have well trained and knowledgeable staff members that makes this hotel great. The location is close proximity to The Rosary Church and the room....hay.... Is heaven :) Super modern with touch of modern style and the king size bed is super comfy :) Plus with complimentary drinks in house, what else could you ask for? If you would like to stay in a 5 star hotel, this is the place to be... Hotel ICON in Hongkong. Oh and the view from the 21st floor is truly amazing... If i can just stay for another week, i will! So modern yet elegant. A must place to stay in HK.

Stayed at Hotel Icon for 3 nights. Currently, the hotel is having a opening special where you stay for 2 nights and the 3rd night is free.

We enjoyed our entire stay at the hotel, right from the time we checked in till we checked out. The staff were courteous, greeting us in the morning when we leave the hotel and in the evening when we returned to the hotel. When our hands are full of shopping stuff, the helpful staff would help us to press the lift buttons for us. As for the room, it is very clean and spacious considering the standard of Hong Kong hotels.

The highlight of our stay was a birthday cake that was placed in our room the night before we checked out. Although my husband's birthday fell on the following day (the day we checked out), Hotel Icon was very thoughtful to place a cake in our room, complete with a candle. It even prepared a birthday card with signatures from the management staff.

We will return to this hotel for our next visit and we probably consider getting the Club room to pamper ourselves after hearing the good comments from this website.

I stayed here for 4 days with my husband and 2 kids almost 2 weeks ago. We stayed in a Club 36 room with Above and Beyond Club Privileges. It was a fantastic stay.

Location-wise, the hotel is in the city but not actually in the center of the main shopping district. Hence, you have the privilege of being very near the place of action though not necessarily in the middle of it. Yes, you'd have to walk leisurely about 10-15 mins to get to the nearest mall or MRT station but at least, you get a little more peace and quiet and you don't have to deal with crowds and vendors bugging you as soon as you exit the hotel doors. Just be sure to take the hotel card (with the map) with you to show the taxi drivers as they may still not be too familiar with this newly opened hotel.

The hotel itself is very new with ultra-modern and tastefully-designed decor and facilities so it is everything you'd expect from a 21st century hotel...simple but elegant, minimalist yet very artistic...and oh so immaculately clean. The view from our room was breath-taking. We had a partly city and partly harbour view, so we could see the best of both worlds from our 25th floor room. The room was quite spacious compared to HK standards, with hygienic and comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom was unique and a statement in itself...with curved, transparent glass shower rooms drenched by a huge rainshower and a separate deep soaking tub. We also loved the daily semi-buffet breakfast and afternoon tea at the chic and relaxing Above and Beyond Lounge, which my kids really enjoyed. Finally, the friendly and very accomodating attitude of the staff capped this very pleasant and memorable experience.

In summary, if you'd like an ideal combination of good location (at least close to the city center) + five-star ambiance + reasonable rates + clean and ultra-modern facilities + superb customer service, you will finally find it here at the Hotel ICON. Highly recommended!

I have been to Hong Kong more than half a dozen times. This time I decided to stay in Hotel Icon . Its a brand new hotel with good facilities located in a decent place. Not too close to MTR or shopping malls but still the location is good. The hotel is in soft launch phase though the spa alone remains to be opened yet.
The hotel rooms have a Nice harbour view (harbour view option), swimming pool with a pleasing view which I liked. The harbour view is quite good due to the hotel's location. The hotel lobby is not grand like other 4-5 star hotels. But unique. It has a wall hanging garden. i.e. Plants on the vertical wall. The plants are real. Stunning combination of plants. However on the 3rd day I notice the plants were dry & were drooping which took away the splendour.
The bed and the pillows were too good. Nice combination. The chair I felt was an imitation of the famed egg chair.
Must say that the free wi-fi is a welcome option. Quite a few hotels (despite 5 star status) dont provide internet for free. Free mini bar (water, canned drink & buts) is a nice option.
The best part of the hotel I think is the 'Timeless' lounge concept. People who check out but want to relax a while or if check in is delayed, this smart lounge could be used. With a nespresso machine & apples & snack bites this is one of the nicest aspects I have ever come across in a star hotel.
Very good dining options. There are three options. There is a Chinese fine dining restaurant at the 28th floor. Its pricey for that quality of food. However due to their possession of a wine preserver that can store opened wine fresh upto 21 days we can select quite a few wines by the glass. There is a Sommerlier who could suggest the wine combinations. That was nice. Next there is a simple lounge bar near the lobby to chill out. I ordered for couple of cocktails which were not bad & the tapas side dish choices were good. Then there is 'The Market' which has a plethora of dishes to choose from. I went there once and also ordered from them another time through room service. Good choice of food. I liked the Malaysian lamb satay & the Indian chicken curry.
The staff are a little overwhelming but and a little more professional experience is needed. The hotel shuttle bus has a drop at i-SQUARE a mall in Tsim Sha Tsui. This is a better option compared to the 10-12 minute walk to Hung Hom or East Tsim Sha Tsui metro. One could take this shuttle bus and get dropped at iSQUARE & take the metro from Tsim Sha Tsui. The staff cud have recommended this instead. Because its another 10 minute walk (unpaid subway) from East Tsim Sha Tsui to Tsim Sha Tsui metro station. I am not against walking but when it drizzles or too humid I feel the guests would be happier with the smarter option than the walk.

Room Tip: Soft launch 1 night free option.

But if you need more information, here it is:
Location - in East Tsim Tsa Tsui (Kowloon), about 20 minutes walk from Star Ferry. This seems far way, but 2 MTR and Hung Hom trains stations are much closer. The harbour front walkway (Avenue of Stars, I think it's called), which starts on the other side of the road from the hotel is a good excuse to walk to Start Ferry instead of going by MTR. The hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk from Nathan Road.
This is currently the newest hotel in HK (so new that hardly anyone has heard of it) and still in the 'soft opening' phase until September 2011. Designed by a team that includes Terence Conran, this hotel is stylish and technologically state of the art - something you notice as soon as you arrive at the registration desk. The room I stayed in was fabulous and that's not even one of the pricier Marco Polo suites. if you judge a hotel by the quality of its breakfast then this also gets 5 stars: Eastern and Western breakfast items, huge selection, in house bakery that will make many decent french or german bakeries feel inadequate, etc... The rooftop, harbour-view, heated outdoor pool (and it's a decent size too) alone is a reason to stay here.
The overwhelming impression, apart from the design, comfort and tranquility (if you can get tranquil in downtown Kowloon) is the friendliness of the staff and superb service in every part of the hotel. So many reasons to stay here again and again and I'm rather regretting telling other people about it.

Room Tip: Harbour view or pay top whack and stay in a suite.

Despite of the room is indulged with artful and yet full of state of the art, high tech design, it has the sense of green as well. There are 2 greens visitors can find. The green refreshing vertical garden right in front of the front desk, and the light sensors that automatically turn of electricity of the room, when there is no motion in the room for certain minutes.

The harbour view from hotel room was just magnificent and i dont find myself mis-spending my money.

Hotel Icon is a new hotel, but the experience management team will help solve your needs whenever you have any!

Room Tip: Above level 20 should give the best city view.
