“Boutique but comfortable”
Reviewed 31 October 2012

This is a small interesting hotel in a (becoming) trendy part of Hong Kong. Central to all the sights and amenities, the Hotel is well situated. The room is very comfortable and there was little or no street noise. OK breakfast and friendly staff. My room was large with two flat screen tvs. No real view to speak of but you would need to stay elsewhere if this is what you are after. The room is decorated in a style whi8ch is very similiar to the Hospes Group in Spain.

I stayed here for 5 days during a business trip and was really happy with the choice of hotel. The hotel itself was great - located on a quiet street but within walking distance of the business district and main shopping centres. The staff were all very friendly and so helpful. The room was great- spacious with everything I needed. The complimentary mini bar was also a great bonus!

Breakfast was really good each morning as well.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel or stay here again. The only very slight negative is that being quite new, some taxi drivers didn't know where it was but wasn't a major problem as they always found their way there eventually.

We stayed one night at the newly renovated Mercer Boutique in Sheung Wan. It's a comfortable hotel but somewhat pricey.

The hotel's location allows one to get a real experience of Hong Kong life and the hotel is very close to all of Hong Kong's urban night life. Being walking distance of Central and Lan Kwai Fong, one can stay out late and make it back walking or in a short taxi ride.

Our deluxe room was a semi-suite design with complimentary mini-bar which was stocked with beer and soft drinks. There was microwave in the kitchen along with some dishes and a coffee maker. There were two flat screen TVs, a dock for iPod/iPhone, a DVD player and free internet. The bathroom was well laid out. Overall, the room size was good for such a central location.

The hotel is easily accessible by subway but it is difficult to walk the two blocks from the Sheung Wan MTR (exit A2) if one has any large luggage since the streets are narrow and the sidewalks nearly unusable.

The biggest constraint in this hotel is real estate. That limits the size of everything. There is no business centre and the on site gym is quite small. The breakfast buffet is satisfactory but the variety is very limited. With only two elevators, there can be a long wait to get on one, especially in the mid morning hours when housekeepers are moving carts because one cannot get in an elevator with a cart in it.

Overall this hotel is good for someone looking for comfort in a very urban environment. If one discounts the urban experience, there is better value elsewhere.

Room Tip: Higher floors provide a great view since the hotel towers over the neighborhood buildings.

This new boutique hotel is an excellent choice. Close to Central; Soho and Lan Kwai Fong - all within easy walking distance. Nice rooms, rather spacious for Hong Kong standards and with Nespresso machines.

We chose this boutique hotel in HK for something a bit different, having been to HK on 5 previous times.

Location is close to shopping, although we have found Wan Chai more interesting for its shopping.

We stayed in a suite on L27. The room is split into two parts, but for a suite overall it was average. Room was quiet, but the air conditioning was very noisy and the fan couldn't be turned down.

The hotel has a swimming pool, but it is in a space that is hidden between buildings and is unappealing. We didn't use the pool and didn't see anyone else use it either.

Breakfast was included, but I would rate it is "poor", with a limited selection and some food quite stale.

Overall a reasonable hotel, but I'm afraid that for the same price I would prefer to stay at the Novotel in an executive room.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter and more light.

It was my 3rd time stay in this hotel. The room was clean and room lighting good. I like the free WIFI, strong signal. Courteous and helpful front staff. If you have to stay in Hong Kong Island, this is the place to stay; good value.
