“Good Value, Great Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Hong Kong hotels are never cheap, however, the Bauhinia was a good value no frills stay for one night. The room was clean and the hotel looks new. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
The location is very handy for the Macau ferry with Sheung Wan ferry terminal right across the road and the MTR is literally about ten steps from the hotel entrance. There are nearby convenience stores and coffee shops and a ten minute walk towards Central will take you into all the shops, bars and restaurants that you'll need.
Free wifi, a few international TV channels and complimentary water in the rooms.
I would recommend this for a budget no frills stay that is in a great location.

We stayed here for 6 nights. The hotel is centrally located, the MTR is just steps away, getting there to and from the airport is easy. Lots of nice restaurants are in walking distance. Rooms are well appointed and clean. Compared to other places in hong kong prices are very reasonable. Did not try the morning refreshments since there are lots of places for breakfast in the immediate vicinity. Would go there again.

Decided to book this hotel for my recent visit to HK. From the website and map. Look pretty convenience. Locations wise, is just 2 mins walk from train station and great thing is that it is has 2 station around both the corner. Just 9 minutes walk to IFC and airport check in counter.

Hotel very tastefully decorated and rooms are pretty spacious comparing to those in Kowloon...I will be back again, for prices paid. Very reasonable.

Great value for money in the city center especially for trips to Macao and outer islands - it's just opposite the ferry terminal.
Light breakfast is provided (though not mentioned in the booking); rooms are clean, quiet and spacious by HK standards. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful; free WiFi available in rooms.
The actual hotel can be a bit tricky to find though 'cos there's another serviced apartment of the same name and management.
Overall, an enjoyable stay; would stay here again if ever in this part of the city.

Well, when I checked in, the receptionist asked me if i wanted a single or a double. Seemed like there was a choice of rooms. I asked for a double and he gave me one on second or third floor that was directly facing the expressway. The noise was so bad that there was no way to sleep. When I went down to tell him about it, he offered no help, no room switch. Nor did he have ear plugs available.

Plus the beds were super soft...maybe too old or something ... just a horrible sleep w/ the noise and the crappy beds.

Not impressed with this hotel at all. Yes, it is affordable compared to most hotels in Hong Kong, but the pictures they show of the room on bookings.com are very misleading. It states that it is a boutique hotel but there is nothing "boutique-y" about this hotel at all. I'd compare the quality with a motel as it does not feel very clean. There are obvious stains on the shower floor as well as the carpet. Even the cover most hotels have across the bed had stains!

The only good points is that it is central and has free wi-fi. Otherwise the rooms are small and also not very clean.

I would not stay here again.

I'm a single female traveler and this was clean and had everything I needed - a couple of running machines, a laundromat, free wifi, an area to hang out in upstairs if waiting for flights etc, coffee and an apple for breakfast. The rooms are nice and modern and I was upgraded to a suite which was a great size and a great room. The bathrooms are modern and clean and it generally feels boutiquey. The carpets give the place away as not being so new as they were quite stained in my room but that wouldn't bother me as all else was very clean. The location is brilliant - 10-15 mins walk into Central/the airport express. Sheung Wan is a great area. The only reason I would not choose to stay here again was that the place smells. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this, so I wonder if it was specific to my room. The foyer area smells quite damp to me, but my bedroom smelled very very damp. To the point where I had to launder my clothes after my stay there again. I did mention it to the staff who are very helpful, but they suggested turning up the A/C - which makes it cold and damp. The windows don't open for security either. And it was full or else I'm sure they may have switched my room. I think they need a dehumidifier in there. Perhaps it was just my room... 309. It's a shame, as otherwise I think this is a great option when staying in Hong Kong because it really ticks a lot of boxes.
