Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms well equipped and a little bit larger than average Hong Kong standard (quite a few hotels we looked at had rooms of 11 to 13sq metre). Conveniently close to tram stop and about 10min walk to MTR. Very good continental breakfast. Double glazing blocks most traffic noise. Rooms have small fridge, flat screen TV, small safe and tea and coffee making facility.

having booked and paid for a business suite for 3 adults was faced with arrogant, dishonest practices of still being charged with an extra bed.... arrived late with my mother and my daughter and was too tired to even spend my energy but not worthwhile. for the price u pay go stay at the ibis that is next door, has a better location, and a real hotel and am sure u would not face this shortminded, deceiving and dishonest practices. a total DISAPPOINRMENT

Having been to HK numerous times (60 and counting) I had never come across the LBP, and was weary walking up to it as the blue building screams more back backer then business hotel. Downstairs is a security guard (who will buzz you in after hours). The reception was on the 4th floor and the service exemplary. I was allowed to check-in early, the room on the second floor was spacious for HK (it had two single beds but that was remedied easily by pushing them together. Shower is slightly cramped (6'4" does not help) but all in all a great place.

The location is good (not great), I'd say a little out of the way from everything, but then again H is not really that big.

Room Tip: if they say construction is going on on the floor below you they are not kidding.. ask for a differe...

This hotel is of the type that has become common in Asia. The reception desk is on the 4th floor and the hotel occupies the floors above. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating without exception. My room was a mini suite with a separate bedroom. The bed was very firm, which is the way I like it, but not for everyone. There is a flat screen TV in the bedroom and another in the small living room. I was upgraded to this room by the staff, so I don't know what the standard room looks like, but judging from what I saw during my 8 day stay I expect it is just fine. The continental breakfast is better than most. The fitness center has a couple of treadmills and one weight machine that is of fairly low quality, but quite new as of this writing. The hotel is gay friendly and situated within walking distance from the Hong Kong gay scene.

I read in a lot of the other reviews that people got free upgrades while checking in. Low and behold, we got one too. The upgraded suite was huge (by Hong Kong standards). There was a living room with couch and flatscreen tv, small dining room area with table and chairs, several cupboards, a sink and fridge in the "kitchen" area, a large bathroom and small bedroom with closet, desk and another flatscreen tv.

When first seeing the outside of the hotel I was skeptical, it looked like San Francisco's Chinatown, and not in a good way. However, I was pleasantly surprised upon entering the lobby. It was very small but pristine and the staff were friendly. Overall the hotel was very clean and the room was fantastic for the price.

Pros:
- Loved their toiletries (I almost never use hotel provided toiletries because I have sensitive skin but theirs smelled great and didn't give me a rash.)
- Room + free upgrade
- Housekeeping (The room was scrubbed floor to ceiling daily)
- Breakfast included (More than enough variety but you have to go early or they run out of things. Typical offerings: hams, breads, boiled egg, sausages, hashbrowns, yogurt and fruit)

Cons:
- The shower leaked

Overall I thought the room was spotless and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful and the location was very convenient!

From the outside we the hotel didn't look great, more like a backpackers than a mid-budget hotel but when we went inside we found the staff to be very friendly, professional helpful. We checked in with Pepsi and she was excellent to deal with and gave us a room upgrade. The room was great with comfortable beds a good shower and range of TV channels. There was a good fitness centre and the breakfast served was ok. I have previously stayed at L'Hotel Causeway Bay and Butterfly on Morrison, neither of which served breakfast so this was a decent bonus.

Booked this hotel because it was was ranked high on Tripadvisor and the price is acceptable.

The hotel is about 5 min away from the nearest tramstation, 10 min from the nearest MTR station and about 20 min away from LKF. Other than that, there isn't really much to do and see in Sheung Wan.

When I checked in, they gave me a free upgrade to a mini suite without me even asking. The room is spacious, however a bit dark as sun light is being blocked by the surrounding buildings, which is very common in Hong Kong island. The complimentary breakfast is limited but nice.
