Rosedale Hotel Kowloon
Ranked #122 of 727 Hotels in Hong Kong

Check google map for exact location. I was agree with previous review which is a new and clean hotel. But staffs not so friendly except the concierge which was great help and friendly.

Located at Tai Kok Tsui west kowloon was not a great place to feel the "LIVE" in Hong Kong. Nearest MTR is Olympic station. If you at Hong Kong for Disneyland it was good as the Olympic station is the same line to Sunny Bay / Tung Chung.

Room was tiny and like they said, no place for suitcase or anything. Bathroom even smaller with atomic glass.
Staff not allowed we entered breakfast area with sandals and asked us to change. When we back with shoes, saw a group of people with flip flop eating their breakfast.
There was a security at reception area which not very children friendly.

Overall, this was not a family friendly hotel but clean. Thumbs up for the concierge staffs and thumbs down for the reception staff and security.

Room Tip: Excutive room was same size with standard room.

We stayed in this hotel in early Jan 2013. The hotel was new, and had been opened for only 4 months. After reading reviews here, we were worried about the size of the rooms, but we found out they were adequately sized for 2 adults and a 4-year-old. There's free wifi in the rooms, and a decent buffet breakfast provided. Hotel is located a short walk away from Olympic station, and Mongkok station. It could be a warm walk in summer, but it was a good walk to get the appetite going in winter.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel over new year 2013. I had read good reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to book.
The first thing to note is that the hotel is far away from the bottom end of Kowloon and walking from the hotel to the clocktower for example will take you a good hour and a half at a good pace. However the Olympic MTR station is close by and easily accessable from the hotel, so if you are happy to use the MTR (get an Octopus card), it is easy to get around. They also have a shuttle bus running to Kowloon MTR station every hour on the half hour, which works very well.
The hotel is very modern, but with the modern facilities come modern tiny rooms. The rooms are so small that there is no room to keep your suitcases after you have unpacked them, you have to send them downstairs for storage.
There are also no drawers to pack your clothes in, as the one large drawer is taken up by a safe. the bathrooms are so small that the shower door and toilet door are used for both requirements, but there is very little room to dry yourself off and no space around the basin for your toiletries.
Having pointed out these problems, the hotel is well managed and modern and if you can live with the few negatives, then I would recommend this hotel, especially at the good price I got for the room. The hotel staff are very polite and professional. There is a supermarket and 7 Eleven and MacDonalds close by.

We stayed here for 4 nights and got very disappointed, especially taking into account the price.

Pros:
- new and clean room
- near a big shopping center (high standard)

Cons
- too small, no space for luggage
- very poor illumination in the room
- a bit far from subway stations
- could not find a western-style breakfast nearby (we did not have a BF plan at the hotel)

We stayed at the Rosedale for 3 nights leaving on New Years Day. We booked an executive room on the 25th floor. Room excellent but tiny which we expected in HK. A short walk to Olympic MTR and the hotel has an excellent shuttle bus service which we used a lot.

Breakfast could be improved and the lifts get very congested and repeatedly stop on every floor on the way down even though they are full.

Plenty of places to eat nearby. Head across the road and down the street past MacDonalds and a couple of 2 hr laundries within a couple of blocks.

Great hotel, super clean and friendly.

Hotel is relatively new and the general decor/standard of fixtures and fittings is good. Its also cheap, or at least our deal for occasional corporate use is cheap (hkd800) and seems therefore good value. Rooms are clean and obviously new but are small - you would not want to spend much time there as about the only place to sit is the bed. The restaurant somewhere near the top of the building I found to be poor - black marble walls, black ceiling and black/white basic furniture is like some throwback to a sixties cafe in the UK, and the service was poor and erratic. The music was way too loud (as a bar ok but it is the main restaurant) and half the food we ordered they couldn't provide, nor the first choice wine. Also if you check in early off an overnight flight don't try room service as it doesn't start till 1030. Overall, ok at the price for business use if you eat elsewhere, but for European tourists they will have to up their game - the many other hotels are better than this, and a lot nearer the sights in central Kowloon. Also, when I checked out I was promised a refund for an overcharged service charge, but it never arrived on the credit card.

Room Tip: Lifts were slow at times so you might get one quicker on the lower floors.

We booked their Executive Room while there was a promo at Agoda.com. Knowing that it was such a reduced price, I was thinking that there will be a catch at one point, but instead we saw a beautiful brand new hotel! We were very happy with the overall feel of the hotel, from the reception to the lobby up to our room at the 29th floor. Housekeeping staff answers quickly. We've been in HK before, and we've been expecting the compact sized rooms as all HK hotels are like that. We were happy with the teeny bit of extra space to move around and the window seating area. We also spent a good 10 minutes oohing and aaaahing at the techie features such as the door viewfinder and the bathroom glass frost.

The breakfast selection was fair, there were coffee and fruit juice, congee and noodles, some mixed rice, chicken sausage and sliced hams. There were some bread to toast and some pastries. The hash browns and croissants were great, I could munch on them for hours. They also have some fresh fruits and yoghurts. If you would rather go outside for breakfast, there's a McDonalds and a bakery just in from of the hotel. There are also a lot of hole in the wall restaurants near the area in case you wan to give local dish a try.

The distance to the nearest MTR was not a problem for us, we didn't even get lost on our first try. We just crossed the street then walked to our left to the Olympic station, about 10 minutes away with a relaxed pace.

It's value for money, we would recommend this hotel even for first timers, and we wouldn't mind staying here again in our next HK visit.
