Rosedale Hotel Kowloon

This hotel is eye catching and sleek, and relatively new compared with the other hotels in the area. The room is rather small, but the bathroom is well designed. At night, the room can be quite dim as the furnishings are dark-toned and there are few lights in the room. However reading lights are provided.

The hotel has a great rooftop bar/restaurant which offers great views over the city. It was practically empty when we went up. The staff were attentive and came out several times to check on us, because we were sitting in the cold (which we enjoyed)!

Wonderful hotel. Provides coach drop off to various destination such as Mongkok, China Ferry Terminal etc... Plenty of things, restaurant and shopping around hotel. Discovered an exotic restaurant serving snakes and turtle steamboat. They also serves very good glutinous rice.
Room clean and well maintained. Encounter with the electronic room door lock sensor . Overall 4 stars out of 5. Recommended.

I actually stayed here for 4 nights in July 2013, but forgot to review till now.

ROOM: I got an executive room for myself and my mom. About $115 a night including breakfast but not the 10% tax. Pretty good deal! Rooms are still small but its HK and was okay for us because we both are under 5'5'' in height. We somehow managed to fit 5 pieces of luggage in that room too. lol. 2 large suitcases, 2 carry-on and 1 package.

BATHROOM: Bathroom is small but I liked the atomized glass option if you want privacy. It goes from a clear glass bathroom to opaque. You are provided things like mouthwash, soap, shampoo, conditioner, robe and slippers, etc. They also have a little clothing line you can use to dry any under garments, towels, etc.

FOOD: Having breakfast provided was convenient because most places nearby arent open till around 10am. Breakfast is just passable. Nothing fancy. If anything there is a convenience store at the corner where you can buy some cold foods (chips, cookies, drinks).

SERVICE: Its OK, but I dont think they change sheets in the room everyday during your stay. Probably just before you check in. My mom tested them. Put some lipstick on the corner of her bed sheet, was still there during our stay.

LOCATION: Near Olympic Station. Walk 5-10 minutes. There was construction when I went so I had to walk down and up a pathway to get to station. I think as long as you are near a subway station it should be okay. Its about 30-40 min subway ride to areas like TST or places like Lantau Island/Disney World. Its a bit dead at night in this area, but not unsafe. If you want more nightlife, you need to head down to TST or Central.

EXTRAS: They have a free shuttle bus for guests, takes you to popular areas/some malls, was very convenient for us. This service is offered from early mornings to afternoon. We usually took a shuttle downtown and then subway/taxi back.

P.S. There is no pool.

Overall, I would totally recommend this place if you are travelling as a couple, solo, family of 2 and perhaps friends if you are very comfortable with each other. Haha.

Room Tip: the higher it is the better. floors 21 and up are probably safe bets. my room was in front of elevat...

the room despite being small have everything you need. it is also cleverly designed all spaces fully utilized.

don't expect good customer service as almost everyone in hongkong are generally rude.

note also that if you intend to take cab rides most taxis don't know this hotel even if you present the hotel card. believe me i tried more than 10 cabs in different locations no one would take me. must say that the cab drivers are the rudest of them all!

there are a lot of good food surrounding this area as well.

so overall I'd say I had a pleasant stay at Rosedale. Definitely value for money.

Mid priced, well located hotel in mong kok on the Kowloon side of the harbour with a high quality of finish and super service standards. We're had a very happy stay here for our first visit to Hong Kong. The staff have been fabulous, very nice room with city skyline views, the free (hourly) hotel bus shuttle downtown has been great. We've been happy with our choice of hotels

Room Tip: We had a standard room and declined an upgrade - the standard room is very nice

We stayed here for 3 night on a stop over. Hotel is clean and modern. Rooms are absolutely tiny but we didn't really mind as we were out exploring all the time. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's located about 10 min walk from Olympic mtr station which was handy, also McDonald's just accross the road was a life saver as I wasn't a fan of the food! The roof top bar was amazing, views stretch for miles and was a fab way to spend an evening. Also very near ladies market for the shopping. The breakfast was a very generous spread, all kinda of everything so something for every taste bud! Definitely a thumbs up for a quick stop if you don't mind the tiny room and don't want to get too settled!
