“Excellent hotel”
Reviewed 24 August 2014

We stayed at Rosedale Hotel Kowloon for 4 days and it was a very comfortable experience. Got a room on the 25th floor facing the nearby residential area. Room is clean and size is quite decent considering the price and fact that Hong kong hotel rooms are tiny. Room comes with a ledge to relax and enjoy the night view after a long day of fun and shopping!

Try the sky bar at the hotel. Normally they will have some sort of promotion (when I went, it was baked lobster at really affordable prices). If not, just have a glass of red wine or beer and relax with a good view of the harbour and cooling breeze.

Staff there were friendly and gave us some tips on the nearby areas. The hotel has a shuttle service to places like Kowloon MTR, MongKok, etc. But the timing between each bus is about an hour long so its either you are on time for the bus or else you can take the MTR (Olympic) which is about 10 mins walk away. It is possible to walk to MongKok (20-25mins) but since you are on holiday just take a relaxing ride in a taxi. The taxi meter will probably not move or just slightly so it will still be cheap.

The area around the hotel is full of good eats. Opposite the road there is a stretch of food stores. For those who are into fruits there are a few fruit stores selling fresh fruits. There is also a 24 hr mcdonald and a supermarket to get your essentials.

For travellers who are into shopping, this hotel may not be the most convenient for you. For those visiting areas of interest like the Disney land, lantau island cable car, Victoria peaks or just want a relaxing stay, then I highly recommend this place.

Rooms - the usual expected small size of any other hotel in HK, but very clean, the view is definitely much better on the higher floors
Location - near to MTR, but Olympic stn is not really on the main line. Easy to transfer around on the various MTR lines though. Can be quite a lengthy walk to Mongkok area.
Service - courteous staff, even had birthday treats from the hotel management for my partner's birthday. A pleasant surprise indeed. Rather odd though, that the shuttle bus is only a one-way thingy, sending you to the destinations only, but not doing pick-ups. Roundabout shuttle service would have made up satisfactorily for the hotel's off-central location.
Overall, still an enjoyable 6 nights' stay at a comfy place.

We stayed at the Rosedale on a 3 night stopover in Hong Kong. Located in Kowloon it is in a good location to enjoy some local flavor (a walk to the various neighborhood gardens is really wothwhile to relax and soak up the locals). Can pretty much echo Yuke A, Tegan S, CJW comments. The topfloor restaurant/veiwing deck provides a great view over to Hong Kong Island. The courtesy shuttle down to the ferry terminal/shopping area is great and runs regularly allowing you a number of stops to get on and off at different shopping precincts. Staff are polite and helpful, we had a mix up with a prepay on one of the booking sites (not the hotels fault) and they handled it quickly and no fuss. Rooms are small (welcome to HK) but really well appointed and we had a cool light changing glass wall on the bathroom. If your going to HK Island make sure you visit the Park it is awesome including exotic bird cages and is lovely and cool during humid days.

Room Tip: Go higher. Breakfast is excellent but there is plenty of local bakeries/eateries all around the neig...

We stayed in the Rosedale for a one nighter after two nights elsewher in Hong Kong.

Our room was on the upper levels and faced the Harbour. Yes the rooms are small and
but great views, clean, tidy. All part of the game to experience living in a confined space.

Value for money, yes in comparison with four others we looked at and definitely in comparison with what the Travel Agent quoted.

Breakfast selection Excellent, staff service Very Good the concierge gets out vote for best service he was helpful, knew his stuff and engaged us more than reception staff.
Added Value:
Free Breakfast
The complimentary shuttle a bonus.
The late check out requested and granted appreciated. (Would have been better had they responded to this request when it was made at the time of booking.)
Free Wi Fi, vgood modern A/C, Room Service fast and accurate.
Paid $HK1116.50 for the night in a Deluxe Queen Room

Would we stay there again when we return to Hong Kong ?..... It would definitely be in the mix.

We stayed for four nights. The room was very small and too dark, very little space to place luggage. The bathroom was very tiny. But the room and the bathroom were clean. Housekeeping kept cleaned the room daily and refreshed bathroom toiletries but they never replaced the glass we had used with the clean glass.

The staff were nice especially concierge desk, they were very helpful and friendly.

It's located about 15 minutes walk to Olympic MTR Station. There a lots of mini markets across the hotel

We arrived at the hotel after our flight from Shanghai which had been a long flight with a few delays, the taxi ride was around 230 HKD and took about 25-30 minutes the hotel is very easy to get to and well known by taxi drivers.
When we arrived at the hotel and we were amazed, actually thought we were in the wrong hotel because it was much better than the photos online.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and speak fluent English
The rooms are very modern and clean, the bathroom is quiet awkward and uncomfortable as it is very small.
There is a sky bar on the top level which was the best part of the hotel. The view was amazing and the food and drinks were 5 stars and reasonably priced about $13 AUD for dessert and $7 for a cocktail.
There isn't a lot within walking distant of the hotel you have to catch a taxi to Nathan road for restaurants but there is a McDonald's conveniently located literally across the road from the hotel

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family wanting to go to Hong Kong

The hotel itself was very classy. The room was small, but that is typical in Hong Kong. It reminded me of being on a cruise ship. Housekeeping kept it cleaned daily and refreshed bathroom toiletries. The workout room was adequate for my needs. Breakfast was good and plentiful, with many choices from croissants, pancakes, fried rice, dim sum and salad (but coffee was always cold). Seating was limited and we shared a table often (no big deal). Concierge desk was very helpful with maps and ideas. The service and view from the rooftop restaurant were excellent. The only negative was the long wait in the morning for the elevators. Shops around hotel were reasonable and bakeries were fantastic. Short walk to the Metro Station. All cab drivers found the hotel by just showing them it marked on a map.

Room Tip: Our room on 27th floor had a great view and was quiet.
