I loved the quality of the hotel and room.

The food was good and the views from the 31st (maybe 32nd) floor over the harbor made for a wonderful setting for a meal. The prices were not cheap but where in a Hong Kong hotel are they :)

I had a 1 bedroom suite which was very comfortable. Great bed. Good working desk.

The bathroom would be the only down side. The water pressure and temperature were good but it was so tiny.

Having Victoria Park right across the street was a nice plus.

I would certainly return.

LOCATION, GOOD
We attended HK convention centre, the location itself was close enough for taxi and shuttle bus.

ROOM, GOOD
The room itself was simple and clean enough for us.
The price was cheap.

CUSTOMER SERVICE, BAD
Most of the staffs we encountered (reception, restaurant) were a bit grumpy, and seemed annoyed when we talk to them. Bad staffs.

OVERALL
We would stay here again for the price.

Dear Himalaya2010,

Thank you for your review. It is great to hear you enjoyed the location of the hotel and found the room to be comfortable and clean.

We are very concerned that you found our Front Desk and Restaurant staffs to be grumpy, and seemed annoyed when you talk to them. Please be assured that this is not usual and that the appropriate follow up has taken place with the service team to ensure that your mentioned do not occur again in the future.

We thank you once again for your valuable comments and sincerely hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to our hotel again when your next visit in Hong Kong.

Stayed here for 5 nights over New year. We opted for a junior suite which had a separate living area with dining table, chairs, .small sink tea/coffee making facilities and a microwave as well as sofa, and tv. The bedroom had plenty storage space and the double bed was comfortable. The rooms could probably do with some sprucing up though, but we were happy enough. The staff were excellent and very helpful. They all had some English and a couple of the staff spoke it quite well. . We were on the 28th floor and never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for one of the 3 lifts. Breakfast was included in the price of the room, we didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised with the buffet which had a selection of British type fair, ie eggs, bacon, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, to Chinese dumplings, noodles, rice, vegetables, toaster, selection of breads muffins, fresh juices and cereals. Thoroughly enjoyed sampling the different dishes on offer. I went up to their skylounge one evening but was not impressed, I found it a bit smelly and dingy, the carpets could do with being replaced or at least getting a good scrub. The view from the windows was on to some fairly run down looking apartments, however looking out to the left of the window you could see Victoria Park and the harbour. With regard to location it's not right in the heart of causeway bay, and by crossing the road at the library and a ten minute walk through the park you come into the tin hau area, which was ideal for us as we were visiting people who live there n that area Alternatively the main lively shopping part of causeway bay is only a short walk from the hotel. I found the hotel value for money and if I were to return to Hong Kong would stay there again.

The Rosedale is located in walking distance to Causeway Bay, so if you fancy HK shopping sprees than this is a good option. The hotel is a rather typical city hotel, small rooms which are a bit weary and outdated, busy elevater queues, no pool etc. so for the price I have stayed in much nicer hotels. As mentioned the location is fantastic for shopping so if thats the priority it is a good option.

My second time at Rosedale on the Park. Love the location close to Causeway Bay and MRT.
Lots of eatery around hotel but then again this is Hong Kong, lots of good food everywhere.
rooms were small but this is standard in Hong Kong, plus in HK no one stays in their room.

The hotel's location is decent enough (between two MTR stations and is within walking distance to the Causeway and Wan Chai shopping districts). However, hotel's actual entrance is on Shelter Street, so it is not where the Shuttle Bus from the Airport Express Station will stop (i.e. you have to backtrack a bit after getting off the Shuttle Bus). The room is very small (probably okay by Hong Kong standard) and there is just sufficient space two two single beds (or one double bed), a small table and a bedside desk. The room needs maintenance as everything in the room is kind of old. The staff are generally okay and friendly (but we didn't have to deal with them much at all).

Rosedale is unfortunately a quite forgattable experience: old-fashioned decoration, tired staff and very slow elevators. The rooms are average and badly need to be updated. One would expect that Rosedale tries to make it up with efficient service, but here again it was lower than average: I ordered a non-smoking room that was supposed to be ready at 2 PM. I showed up at this exact time and it wasn't. They kept me waiting for almost an hour and a half to make up the room, after trying to divert me to a nasty-smoky smelling room where I could not even open the windows to ventilate. Yuk...very unhealthy. Similarly, the concierge wasn't too eager to help: I had to take a bus from HK island to Shenzhen bay, but wasn't too sure where to catch it. Very confident answer from the concierge: there aren't any bus to this destination. I had to unpack my laptop, connect to the WIFI while standing in the lobby, and I indeed found my information. Frustrating. One positive point though: sleep quality was good: comfy bed. As for the location: its in causeway bay, not far by foot from the shopping district / Time square. However if like me, you come by MTR and drag a heavy piece of luggage, it will take you a good 20 mn to reach the hotel, slaloming between people in the super-crowded streets of causeway bay +trying to make your way up a very cumbersome sky bridge. Its definitely better to get there by taxi from Central directly. In short: go there if Hong Kong is in a busy period and you got a heavily discounted rate inferior to 1,000 HKD / night (130 USD). Otherwise there are far better options all around Hong Kong island.
Tip # 1 => There is a starbucks right behind the hotel for breakfast. I don't think it is worth to pay the extra 68 HKD for the hotel's buffet.
Tip # 2 => The closest ATM is right behind the hotel, within the St Paul's hospital, opposite Starbucks.

Room Tip: Always go for the non-smoking room. Don't accept a smoking room thinking "I will ventilate...
