We stayed at the Traders Hong Kong for 3 nights en-route to Australia and overall we very happy! The hotel is very modern, clean and all staff were very nice and extremely helpful. The room was great, a really good size, with everything that you would expect from a large chain such as Traders. The resturant offers a good choice of food at a resonable price in the evening and also a large buffet breakfast. There is also a well equipped gym in the hotel which gives you great views over the wetsern district of Hong Kong.
The only potential down side to the hotel is the location. Being situated in the western district its around a 20-30 minute walk into the central areas and the nearest MTR at Sheung Wan but this is easily over-come by using the local tram service. The tram line is just one street away , a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and the trams are very regular (around every 2-3 minutes),cost peanuts and is a great way to see the area and mix with the locals.
Overall, its a great hotel and reccomend it to anyone visiting Hong Kong.

As a pre-booked queen bed was unavailable we were upgraded to a higher level (floor 16) with a great harbour view. The refurbished room was very comfortable and so was the bed and pillows. The counter staff spoke good English and were friendly and considerate, one even paid for a delivery of ours from her own pocket! Breakfast was included in our rate - and the buffer offered variety and the service was good. The hotel offers access to computer in the lobby lounge at no charge for guests. They have a shuttle to take you to central and a few other areas, however the tram is a couple of minutes walk from the hotel on Des Voeux Street. The tram costs only $HK2 for any distance (that is about 30 cents Australian) The Western District is 'authentic' Hong Kong and this location appealed to us. We would recommend this hotel for a short or long stay in Hong Kong.

The hotel is located a good walk from the main centre of Hong Kong, There is a shuttle service that runs from the hotel to the centre but this is infrequent and stops very early in the evening. Taxis to the hotel are very cheap though. The hotel itself is clean. The pool area was closed during my stay as it was winter. The buffect breakfast had a good choice of all types of foods. The room i stayed in was quite small but clean and had all the ammenties i needed for my 4 day stay. I had a view of the harbour which was a nice bonus so do ask for a high floor.
The only complaint i have about the hotel would have been the distance from the centre and if staying in Hong Kong again i would maybe find somewhere closer to main sights, restuarants and shops.

Stayed for 3 nights here looking for something new. Booked a club floor room and found the room to be typical HK fashion, small but clean with everything that you need to get by. Internet was included in the room rate and was pretty fast. Had breakfast twice which was better then I expected and had dinner buffet once which was not worth the price for the selection. The only downside experienced was that the so called Shuttle Service was nowhere to be seen. We wanted to have the shuttle pick us up from HK MTR station and waited for over 30 minutes before giving up and taking a taxi to the hotel. Also when we wanted to get to the Macau ferry terminal was told that it wasn't available for another 2 hours. I would maybe think about staying here again only because the room pricing is much better then most and the value is good. Just don't rely on any of the shuttle services!

The Traders Hotel was a mixed experience; front desk staff seemed professional and courteous, however several nibbling details left a sour taste, the rooms are tiny, as one would expect from a budget hotel - and while tastefully appointed feature an appallingly slow wireless service: slow as in "let me shower and shave while my webpage downloads!". The corridors smelt very smoky even on non smoking floors and the state of the hotel outside of the rooms leaves one feeling the the hotel needs a refit. Getting the courtesy shuttle is also a challenge; language barriers mean that you may end up in surprising places! Avoid if you're on business or need to be close to transport; trams are your only option here.
