This hotel is a gem! Superbly located on Hong Kong Island, this is a true 5 star. The service is near to perfection. Several experiences have convinced me not to stay in any other hotel in Hong Kong during my business trips. This is the kind of hotel where you feel at home just after you stepped out of the taxi. The service is perfect and constant. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, all slightly different, yet similar by their decoration, neat and elegant. There is always a little attention in the room upon arrival. Everything is spotless and well maintained. The air conditioning in the room is silent. The room has a large work desk, equipped with cables, plugs, adapters. Everything is well thought out and functional. Tea, espresso available. I also tested the spa: a great experience. Mandarin is one of my favorite hotel that has earned my loyalty.

This is possibly one of the best hotels in the world. Rooms are perfect. Beds are so big and comfy and it's the best shower. Staff are helpful and it's the little extra features that make this place so special.

Wow! Luxurious digs, great restaurants and room service -- be sure to try the lobster bisque -- but most importantly is the friendly and warm staff. I stay in fine hotels all over the world, and can't remember being so impressed. Hotel spa, gym, and pool delightful. You can't go wrong staying here.

Great hotel in the heart of HK. Last time I stayed at a Mandarin hotel was Miami which was equally great, but there is a non-fussy edge on service that other parts of the world could learn so much from. Housekeeping takes on a whole new meaning - every detail paid attention to, nothing too small - your cable rolled up, your make-up tidied, water replenished regularly. Rooms are large, perfect 5 star - a Hansgrohe state of the art shower, which helps the jet-lagged European traveller. Whilst Mandarin is a classic and contemporary 5 star, it exceeds itself on the service front, and it's not just some staff, it's all staff. Right down to check-out - lovely start to finish. Could not recommend this hotel more highly for a business trip. Great gym too - not too big, but well equipped, and v. bright being on the last floor. And just to top it, I was trying to balance my ipad on the treadmill and next thing a member of staff brings over an ipad holder to place on top of the machine - this hotel has thought of everything... well done!

I recently spent three nights at the Mandarin Oriental. It was outstanding. The service, from the moment you step in the door, is wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff, and there are plenty of small but welcoming touches available: plenty of free bottled water each day, Chinese tea offered on arrival, valet shoe shine. The rooms themselves are large and spacious, with a very nice decor and wonderful bathrooms. The breakfast buffet had all you could ask for. My only gripe was the end to pay for internet access, which in this day and age should be included in the price. But beside that, there was nothing in this hotel that wasn't first rate. I have stayed in more expensive hotels in Hong Kong, but the Mandarin Oriental easily matches them. I will certainly stay here again.

If you are not on a tight budget then this is THE place to stay in Hong Kong. I lived in Hong Kong for many years and know it well. This return trip after a long absence was made perfect by this most fantastic hotel.
From pick up at the airport to checking out my husband and I felt totally spoilt and indulged. Each member of staff was charming and we'll trained and nothing was too much trouble. There is a charming indoor pool where the life guard was ready with. Fluffy towel as we stepped out of the pool and a complimentary snack. Total joy.

Room Tip: The view across the harbour is spectacular at night

I have not stayed in the Mandarin Oriental is many a year. In the past I remember small rooms with an above average but worn decor with small old bathrooms. What a difference time makes.

I was not thrilled that we had to stay in the hotel but I was the guest of parent company. I think they reserved something nicer than a standard room. The rooms was larger than I remember with a big bathroom, full bathtub and waling shower. The decor was awesome, rich deep woods, firm matters and excellent linens. I the feeling of staying in an old school rich uncles house.

The hotel service was excellent but the restaurants another story. In the coffee shop we had to wait for ever to get served coffee. The breakfast buffet is very nice.
