“As close as I got to perfection”

Everything you need, before you even know it... Very spacious room and bathroom. All the amenities you can wish for. Attention to detail is an understatement...
You'll never have to wait for a cab or will have to ask for anything twice.
This hotel has a story, a soul and most important, normal dimensions! You don't feel overwhelmed by gadgets or bling-bling/kitsch decoration. It's just pure tradition, taste and class. Most beautiful flower arrangements ever.
The spa is expensive but I got a perfect manicure at 8 am sharp: an amazing woman named Rita, delicious nespresso and view on the harbour. What can a woman ask for more to start the day!
Adds the "pleasure" to the business trips!
And very important, if you need to be in Central: location, location, location.

Stayed here with some family members, ate in chinnerys and have the great breakfast in the clipper mezzanine .... Location next to princes building still a great attraction, and while staff seems to turn more often, current staff have access to an impressive data base.

Room Tip: I prefer the side facing the princes bldg as a bit less road/ traffic noise

The Mandarin Oriental is ideally situated near the harbour on HK Island. It takes only a short walk to the bus stops at Central, to the MTR (subway) station and to the ferry pier. We had a harbour-view room with an excellent view to Kowloon and to the phenomenal ICC Tower. The accommodation was outstanding, with very comfortable room facilities, luxury bathroom, Nespresso© coffee maker etc. and everything was very clean. Staff at the check-in desk, at the bell desk and in the restaurants was, as a matter of course, very obliging and friendly at any time. Overall, the Mandarin Oriental is our preferred hotel in Hong Kong.

This is by far our best hotel experience anywhere in the world. We were met by MO staff at airplane bridge at Hong Kong Airport, escorted thru the Immigration, Baggage Collection and Customs, then the Limo had been waiting just outside the arrival gate. All these processes took less than 20 minutes. By the time you arrived at the hotel, the receptionist would greet you as you stepped out from the limo. To our surprised, we were allowed to check-in even before 7 am. Checked-in was done inside your room. Room and bath were perfectly clean and all things that you would probably needed were available, even umbrella. (who would thought about umbrella, maybe due to occasionally drizzle in HK). Cleaning was done more than once per day, we found out when we returned to the room in the afternoon, room was clean and by the time we returned again at night after dinner, the room was in perfect condition again ready for sleep. Location is perfect, closed to MTR, Ferry terminal and lots of good food. Taxis are available in front of Hotel.
One of the day that we stayed in, was my birthday, and we did not return to the room until 9 pm, by 10 pm, the staff sent a birthday cake with a birthday card from Mr. Schuermann (MO General Manager), what a thoughful gift ! Basically MO would go to such an extent to please you.

Having enjoyed great service at MO Tokyo late last year, the MO HK was an automatic choice, and we were not disappointed. The room was outstanding and so was the service. Locationally great, with just a walk away from the ferry.

A little away from cafe district, but the ever vigilant doormen always got us a taxi with no wait. And fortunately HK taxis do not seem to refuse short trips.

Will certainly stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a harbour facing high floor

First visit after the renovations and over 10 years ago...and they still have my last visit details in the system! I'm very impressed. And they upgraded me instantly to a Harbour View room!!
I guess the lobby couldn't be changed at all, was basically almost the same layout. Unlike some of the other reviewers, no one explained to me the new room, and therefore i missed the morning papers which was in the butler compartment. The room and amenities made up for all that. Best hotel bed I've slept in for a long while.. Hermes toiletries, coolest looking hotel slippers (couldn't resist taking them home) Nespresso machine.
Breakfast was sufficient, not outstanding, but the seating could be improved, it looks cramped with lounge type seating even onto the walkway.
Will I stay there again? Definitely! But after I try out the Mandarin at the Landmark first..

Ideally located in Central, extremely close to Hong Kong station and piers and perfectly convenient when you arrive from the airport. Efficiency from reception staff, concierge and porters is flawless. Somebody from the reception showed us to our bedroom and explained the main features: light remote control, etc. Everything is designed to make your life easy and comfortable while staying in the hotel. The decoration is cosy and warm and makes you feel at home. I loved the bathroom, with its walk-in shower and bathtub. I had trousers and shirts dry-cleaned and washed and I was happy with the service. Breakfast buffet was sumptuous, so many good and tasty things to choose from to start a new day, definitely loved it. Staff was extremely efficient and welcoming and people smiling. We also had an afternoon tea during the weekend and it was worth it. The only thing I had to complain about (I wrote it in the satisfaction survey and got a prompt answer from hotel management, which is a good point and shows their customer-orientation) was that the air-conditioned was so powerful, even though outside temperature was barely above 15° beginning of March, in the breakfast room it was freezing cold, especially if you were sitting under the ventilation slit. It was pretty much uncomfortable and had to ask every morning to be seated away from ventilation slit. Nevertheless, I am very much looking forward to staying once again there and I hope I will be able to enjoy the spa and other facilities next time.
