Rooms are very well appointed. Our'shad a Nespreeso.machine and free bottled water. Room could accommodate a preteen on a rollaway bed. Fantastic spa facilities and a great pool. Easy access to luxury shopping. Not cheap but a great break. Many great facilities for the traveller including printers in the room, chargers for electrical equipment in both voltages. Decent hairdryer good soaps etc

Room Tip: Peak view rooms are cheaper than harbor views, but still have a ggod aspect.

We had 4 nights in the Shangri-la and right from the entry into the lobby it was obvious we would enjoy it. Check-in was easy and the bags in the room when we arrived. We expected and got a harbour view, (will ask for a bit more direct view next time but this is being picky).
The room was huge and well appointed King Size bed and big bathroom. Restaurants we used the main breakfast buffet and on day 2 the waiter remembered what I asked for on day 1 even with the huge throughput (service!!) in the evening we ate in the Lobster Bar & Grill over 2 nights because we enjoyed it so much and the staff made us welcome.
All in all the say it is a Luxury Hotel and we would agree with that. Will we go back, yes next time we are in Hong Kong it will be our base. Hi points other than how they looked after us is the fact it is also so central minutes from the ferry, peak tram or central shops.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a full harbour view, though it may cost a bit more?

The hotel feels more like a luxury apartment complex than a hotel. The fitness club is very well equipped and they provide water and fruit. The dressing room has a nice whirlpool and sauna for relaxation after a workout or swim. The pool is also lovely, with the same attentive, warm, and personal service found everywhere in the hotel. And you need the gym and pool to work off the incredible breakfast buffet with any variation of Western, Asian, or Middle Eastern cuisine. And an ice cream machine for brunch on the weekends. The bar was also a very comfortable place to relax every evening with a great singer (Tess Collins) and band during my visit. Would definitely return!

Sadly I wasn't able to stay on this trip but I did take tea in the lounge and it was the usual serene Shangri La experience. This is the best hotel chain I know - always a very high standard of service and always a pleasure to use their facilities.

I've stayed in several hotels in HOngkong. In fact, I've stayed in all 3 hotels in the Pacific Place and hands down, Shangrila is the best hotel for me. In terms of the size of the room, logistics, food, luxury, all 3 hotels fared comparably for me. But what makes SHangrila different is their attention to details and service. I was in Hongkong for a 4 day conference. Upon arriving to my room, what caught my eye was the lovely tea set provided. The kettle wtih hot tea was set in a a lovely insulated basket. Such luxury i've never seen before. This is on top of the regular complimentary water and the fruit platter. On DAy 2, I decided to wake up early to run at the gym. I did note that the lifts wouldn't stop at the 8th floor where the gym was. So I decided to go to the 7th floor and climb back up. On arriving on the 7th floor, i was met by a staff who told me that the gym was closed that morning owing to a last minute change in logistics of one of the event. the staff did offer to take me to the Mariott if i really wanted to run but i declined and decided to go back to my room. I did feel bad about waking up early when i could have enjoyed the room, the chilly weather, the warm bed and the soft pillows for another hour. Anyways, didn't make a big fuzz about it and decided to get ready for the day. That afternoon, when i came back to the room, i noted a personal note and a box of chocolate on the table for me. It was a note from the Shangrila rooms director apologizing for the inconvenienced they cause me that morning for the closed gym. I was so elated and ecstatic on how Shangrila cared enough to write a note telling me that my inconvenience is not acceptable for them. Now that's how top notch service should be. Shangrila is truly a winner.

everything about the "Shang" is centered around comfort and service. Every encounter with hotel staff was gracious and helpful. Our rooms were spacious and the beds exceedingly luxurious and comfortable. The proximity to Pacific Place was so convenient, and because we were staying for many days, it was helpful to have a food market, with a broad range of prepared foods, nearby. We had also stayed at the Four Seasons in Hong Kong (which was also amazing by any measure) but find that the warmth and attentiveness of the staff at the Shangri-la was ultimately more inviting.
