“Simply pleasant stay”

It’s always pleasant experience staying in this hotel as the service is good, staffs are polite and friendly, liked the lift carpet display changed according to the day of the week serves as a reminder when you step in, last but not least - not forgetting to mention about the top quality toiletries given.
Shopping - conveniently connected to Pacific place mall which is one my all time favourite shopping spot.

Although there are good reviews for this hotel, for a 5 star hotel in terms of service this is a 3 star hotel and no better.

Pros
Location - excellent with good connections for all of HK
Room - large room with nightly turn down service.
Cleanliness - very good

Cons
House keeping - although I forgot to turn on the do not disturb I was in the shower and although housekeeping came in, instead of walking out they proceeded to ask me if I wanted turn down service and I had to emerge from shower as could not hear them!
Room service - no English tea refilled when it was obvious that I was drinking this. Also realised been charged for 3 drinks from the mini bar and only drank one!
Breakfast - for £30 the breakfast was a disgrace. Poor quality, pho was a weak broth, had to repeatedly ask for tea top ups and sugar, eggs took 10 mins to arrive and bill given half way through your meal
Restaurant - only attempted the Thai restaurant and after the experience didn't venture to any other restaurants. Food worst I have had and what was worse was when they collected dishes ask if meal was ok I said no and the server then giggled and walked away. I later noted this to concierge desk downstairs and all they did was apologise- awful service.
Taxi - madness to get a taxi in the evening and had to queue for 20 mins and the concierge was not directing traffic in the car park drop off point well and so caused chaos and resulted in many a taxi not attempting a pick up.
Check in - very slow I had to wait 15 mins to start the check in process.

There is probably more but I have stayed in better 3 star hotels and on the service better 1 star hotels. Will not stay at a shangri la again.

It is a great experience when you arrive here - total focus on you from entrance to check-in to room. Customer experience. Good rooms and great service

Liked it so much I will take my partner there for a few days for a holiday.

What an absolutely amazing property in the middle of Hong Kong! I recently had a two day business trip in Hong Kong and found the Shangri-La location perfect. The room was very spacious and the staff extremely helpful.

Try to get a room as high as possible for a greater view.

We spent 1 night on the outward journey to Sydney & 2 on the return. expensive ? yes, but we all need to sample this type of service at least once in our lifetime. From booking in at reception, to booking out again we were treated to the sort of attention & service that only the best can provide. The welcoming pot of Chinese green tea delivered to the room within minutes of arriving, the huge bowl of fruit, the robes & slippers etc, plus the fantastic & friendly staff made this a great way to unwind between the long flights. The old saying that *you get what you pay for* is absolutely right. WE LOVED IT !!

couldn’t believe that we will experienced a most horrible lesson and received a very unconcerned attitude from Mr Jack, Concierge Department in your hotel. We spent over 30 mins for waiting a taxi to Central (3:00pm, it’s not the peak hour).

There was a long queue outside the hotel. However, all the taxi drivers requested the destination to Kowloon only. We requested Mr Jack to call the taxi for the guests. He said they have called already. Then all the Concierge staffs were chit chat and didn’t have the intention to help the guests to solve the problems. As mentioned, a family was in a hurry to airport after check-out from your hotel.

Mr Jack said that there was car accident nearby. (He didn’t mention the extra place) During this period, We saw that the Concierge staffs were very helpful for those guests waiting to pick up their cars and ignored the queue.

Finally, we requested Mr Jack to ask the Concierge Manager to go to the main entrance. He replied that the Manager was inside the lobby and asked her to go herself. We was at the first priority for the taxi. If we went to the hotel to complain Mr Jack, we needed to line up again. My wife called me after she got a taxi and explained what had happened and she could’t find any car accident nearby or traffic jam.

Mr Jack (Concierge Department)was the most rudeness hotel staff i ever met.

I signed up with Tripadvisor to log this review - the location, views and service were outstanding. Have family in the region so a great place to stop over. I will return and will likely have a family group there in the next year or two when we can all figure out schedules to meet in one city. At the top of my list.
