Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong

I stayed at the Shangri-La Kowloon In November for three nights.
The staff are very friendly and very welcoming.

I stayed in a Deluxe Harbour View room which was amazing.. especially the view at night.

We had dinner at Shang Palace - incredible food and the lobster is worth a try.
The buffet breakfast had a great amount of choice of cakes, english breakfast, fish, salads etc.

We also discovered a little spa and pool next to the gym which we didnt know the hotel had - this was nice to relax in before we caught our flight.

The location is great close to all the bars, restaurants and shops.
We went on a few trips with grayline from the hotel which were great - good way to see Hong Kong - altough the traffic is a nightmare.

Overall was a great stay and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a Harbour View

Great that it is "near the station" but it was quite a long stretch from the station's entrance to the actual train itself. Went to use their health club/ pool facilities and ohmy! I thought it was just a tub. View was actually great that you could see the harbor. Breakfast was quite extensive but disappointing.

Room Tip: Get the one with the view of the harbor

Dear c_sheena, thank you for sharing your experience on TripAdvisor. Whilst I was delighted you enjoyed the views and found the location convenient, I am concerned that you were disappointed in the breakfast offering. I will be getting in touch with you directly to get more details as we are keen to make improvements in our standards. Thank you for staying with us, regards Timothy Wright

This is a truly great hotel. Everything works, and I mean everything. The staff is fantastic, the rooms are beautiful, and the buffet breakfast on the mezzanine floor is the single best hotel breakfast on the planet. Bar none! The location is perfect (right in front of the TST MTR stop) , the lobby is gorgeous, and there is a starred Michelin restaurant in the building. Staying here makes you understand what the word "guest" truly means. Staying anywhere else in Hong Kong (including the very tired Peninsula) is a mistake. The Shangri-la Kowloon gets my vote for one of the top 10 hotels in the world. It is perfect!

This hotel must rank as one the best my wife and I have ever experienced.

My wife and I certainly endorse all the comments so well expresed elsewhere and the Horozon Club room was wonderful witha suoperb view over the harbour.

The breakfast is absolutely amazing and the quality of ingredients and choice was mind boggling.

Room Tip: Take the Horizon floor - we stayed in room 2128- What a magnificnt view!

This was our "pre-honeymoon" so we decided to stay in Kowloon Shangri-La Kong Kong for 3 nights. The quality of service was just as good as we expected, and we like the corner room they arranged because we could see a little harbor view from our room!
Thank you Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong for making our "pre-honeymoon" so wonderful, and we would definitely come back again in the near future : )

There's really not much to complain about at the Kowloon Shangi La. The lobby is great, so your welcome to the hotel is impressive. The location is excellent, if being in walking distance to the Kowloon shopping areas is of interest.

Room service is a bit slow, to be honest, but the food is very good.

The rooms are large, modern and luxurious. Because of the way the hotel is angled, the views from the "harbour view" rooms, while great, are not of the entire Hong Kong harbour....as they are at the Intercontinental. So if you are a fan of pure views.....while the Shangri La's is really, really good, the views at the IC are even better. But this is really splitting hairs:-)

Of the really upper end hotels in the immediate area, the Peninsula, the Intercontinental, and the Shangri La, I would probably opt for the IC, purely because of the views...and the rest of the IC is pretty special as well.

The Pen is a small level above the Shangri La, but also a lot more expensive, so unless money is no object, the SL is a better deal for the cost.

If it's an all-out weekend, and money isn't an issue, I'd go for one of the harbour view rooms at the Pen. But these will set you back a LOT. The IC has better views than the SL, but the SL is a bit more impressive in other ways....so that's a toss up.

The reality is, that you'd be over the moon with any of these hotels, including the Shangri La! 'A great hotel by anyone's definition.

I stayed in a Horizon club room and the staff in the horizon club are amazing, what fantastic service.
They find you a seat, get you food and drinks direct to the table, you don't have to lift a finger if thats what you like. The view of the harbour from the club is also breath taking.
This Shangri La and the Shangri La Shenzhen rate for me as the 2 best customer service hotels that I have ever stayed in and I have been to a lot of luxury hotels in many countries. The management should be very proud of the culture and level of customer service. The room was well appointed but not extravagant and the hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from Nathan road which I actually liked because of less crowd and no annoying hawkers trying to sell you fake watches and cheap suits. I will stay here on my next visit.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, get a harbour view room.
