“Fine for overnight”

Was not the cleanest place but fine for my short stay. It had the best internet connection I ever used. Staff was fine but a little aloof and food from room service was very good. I would stay again if just for a lay over like this time but for a long stay I would go elsewhere. Being attached to the airport made it very convenient.

We were returning from New Zealand and changing apartments in Hong Kong so were required to spend a night in a hotel before getting into our new apartment.

We were very much aware of Regal Airport hotel having lived in HK for 18 years and chose it because it is just a 5 minute walk in an air conditioned walkway from the arrival hall.

We had no problems on arrival - the bell boys in fact greeted us at the door and took care of our luggage which arrived at our room 3 minutes after we did. Our room was suitable for our needs and unlike other reviews I glanced at the room was clean, well appointed, had a flat screen TV (not that we watched TV) and coffee/tea facility including an automatic pod type coffee machine.

It is not a resort hotel as some reviewers seem to expect but an airport hotel catering to short layovers and air crew. The ambience is nice and the lobby staff warm and welcoming - very acceptable after an 11 hour flight.

Would we stay there again - in similar circumstances yes. We didn't use the restaurants but I had used one before for a business meeting and the food and service was enjoyable and without hassle. Being 'local' HK residents we have always considered Airpot Regal a 'short stay' hotel of good quality and value.

I wish that the reviews I read today had been up a few days ago the last review given is very true. The wall paper in my room is peeling off and it's got water stains. My air con kept going on and off. When I called the front desk they told me to check the control panel.hello why would I be calling if the control panel was working. I flashed the toilet and it sounded like a fire alarm went off. I do not know what's happening with the plumbing. I went to the restaurant where they had the buffet but chose to order from the menu. Service took so long and they kept ignoring us. Food came 45 minutes later. The side light keeps making a funny noise. I Dnt even know why the 10 percent service charge is included on every bill considering the service I've had. I haven't even slept and I want my money back. I'd never come back here I wish I'd stayed at the Marriot but it was full.

We needed a hotel near the airport for one night and our choices were limited to 3 hotels only, so we chose the Regal since we didn't have to go outside from the airport area. That was actually a good decision since that particular evening it was raining hard!
Check in was very fast, but too serious and strict, not even a smile! The room was very good, with a living room, kitchen and a big room with view to the kids land playground. The bed was kingsize, maybe the biggest we have ever slept! Despite it's exactly next to the airport the room was very quiet.
If you are travelling with your family and luggage and you need to catch the next day's flight it's the best choice but it's too expensive...And it's really weird how is it possible a big airport like Hong Kong that is a hub for many flights has only 3 hotels and all of them freaking expensive without even free wi-fi!!!
Why can't they have a budget hotel for 1 or 2 nights for passengers?....

Room Tip: Our room was 3189, very clean and spacious!

I stay here around once a month and have previously given them good ratings. Each time when I have to stand in long lines for a check in or check out I have given them a break.

But yesterday I came close to missing my flight because of this I decided to downgrade my opinion of them.

Airport hotels deal with a lot of people who either are getting off long flights and are tired, or are heading off for flights. In neither case do they want to show up at reception to see 20 people in line.

To take the cake, when I complained to the young lady on reception about lack of people on the counter she countered with the comment "oh yes, a lot of people complain about that..."

Think someone would fix it.

Great location with direct access from international airport, however rooms were dirty and needed a good clean. The furniture and decor is also very tired and desperately needs updating (peeling wallpaper that was either patterned, dirty or both, very hard to tell). We booked superior rooms - I would hate to have seen what the cheaper rooms looked like. Took at least 15 minutes to check in after a long flight, and another 20 minutes to check out in the morning, which seemed excessive. Beds were a mattress on what felt like a plywood board. We were exhausted after a long flight, so just tried to ignore the negatives, however we would never stay here again. Very expensive for what you get.

Just a quick short one nighter
Beds are for Asians.. very hard
Always many people checking in and checking out, expect to wait along time. Handy: when checking in there is a stand where you can pick up express check out form.. do it for sure. The reason you are there is that you are either arriving airport late or you have early morning flight, you don't want to have to get up earlier in order to handle the checkout line

Hey hotel manager.. still have not fixed this yet... perhaps more people at front desk would help
