I stayed at this hotel for 2 nites in April 2014, the price are reasonable with free airport /hotel pick up services! The day I stayed in hotel was really busy, even after 3pm I cannot check in to my room and they don't know when I can check in, till I insisted to know the time, the staff then find me a room to check in immediately.
You need to carry your own luggage to the room even though this is a 4 star hotel.
The room is big and nice, king size bad, flat screen tv, sofa and table, bathroom is big too, nothing to complain.
15 mins walk to Shatin central shopping centre, hotel provided free bus service to Kowloon and Disneyland.

Dear heraliwy: Thank you very much for staying at Regal Riverside Hotel during your recent visit to Hong Kong. We are sorry to learn that you encountered problem upon check in but glad that our associates were able to resolve the problem and checked you in without further delay, and the room arrangement was to your satisfaction. Regal Riverside being one of the very popular hotels in the district, our lobby area can get congested during the prime time, however, our Concierge staff would be more than happy to provide assistance to deliver your luggage upon request.

Thank you again for your valuable comments and we apologize for inconvenience may have caused. All of us at Regal Riverside look forward to welcoming you back soon.

The hotel is located near sha tin mtr. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from sha tin mtr. There is a very big mall located just at the mtr.

Generally, the room is clean and basic amenities such as toothbrush, bathing soap and hair dryer are provided. Although there are 4 single beds, the room is not crampy. Bathroom is of normal size and there is a bathtub to shower in. However the air conditioner seems to not work very well. The temperature adjustment does not work and always stays at the same warm temperature. But at least it is still considered cool enough. Furthermore the air conditioner is dry which caused bad skin condition for me.

Stayed at this hotel in end 2012 and again mid 2014. The location is not that remote as some of my friends claimed. Food and amenities are plenty around the hotel and there is New Town Plaza which is so big that you don't have the time to go through them. Getting around to the towns area is easy so with the Sha Tin MTR station nearby.

Just returned home from a 7 nights stay at Regal Riverside Hotel in Sha Tin, Hong Kong. I stayed here because it is easy for me visit friends in Sai Kung and Yuen Long as well as very easy access to Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.

Location: Sha Tin is in fact very central, with the Regal Riverside only 10 mins walk (across River Shing Mun) or 1 bus stop away from the main New Town Plaza where you can eat and shop till you drop. Sha Tin MTR station is in the Plaza and Sha Tin Wai MTR is only 10-15 mins walk away. Sha Tin Park (right next to New Town Plaza) is worth a visit in the morning where local practise Tai Chi. Both the North and South Garden in Sha Tin Park is worth seeing. If you don fancy the 10 mins walk to the Plaza, there are local shops (Watson, Mannings, Welcome, 7 Eleven etc) around the hotel as well as a few places to eat.

Hotel Facilities: Absolutely near perfect with heath spa (steam room, sauna, and gym complementary to all hotel guests), and outdoor pool which was perfect as my visit was during the last 7 days in May and Hong Kong was having a heat wave (32 to 34 degree cent). The hotel caters for a wide range of cuisine such as Italian, Japanese, Thai and traditional Chinese with a wide range of pricing and special offers suitable to all. The Moon Café opened till 1am is perfect for me.

Room: My room is spacious and located on 15th Floor, contemporary, creative design very clean with a large double bed. Sheets and towers can be cleaned and changed daily on request otherwise every 3 days as part of the hotel's environmental policy. You still get daily room clean and tidying as you would expect. They even tidy all my clothes, folded neatly in my drawers. Room service and dry cleaning service are available but not cheap - your choice. 2 bottle of mineral water is provided as standard. There is a safe deposit box, Ipod charger, iron with ironing board in the room along with tea and coffee making facility - all complimentary. I love the bathroom, built with frosted glass with the usual shampoo, shower gel, comb, body lotion shaving kit comes as standard. Hair dryer is in drawer if needed.

Transportation: I have mentioned the bus and MTR station, the hotel also provides a airport shuttle bus service. Alternatively you can take the A41 bus which stop outside the hotel. The 299x bus outside the hotel takes you to Sai Kung (by the sea and known for its seafood restaurants and golf courses) is definitely worth a visit. Added to these are taxi which you will always find outside the door of the hotel.

Staff: I have mentioned the excellent housekeeping service and overall everyone I come across is very friendly, efficient and happy to help attitude. I have a minor problem with the room fridge on 1st day and it was fixed straight away.

Wifi: All guest get free access to 30 mins wifi every 12 hours, which is very useful as one could imagine.

Overall my 7 nights stay is perfect and the question would I come back - Most certainly yes with my wife and kids next time. Hopefully this would help people to decide and avoid any uncertainties.

Room Tip: Use your Wifi in the morning so after 12 hours you can use it again in the evening therefore free 1...

We had a last minute decision to spend the Labor day holiday in Hongkong and since it was also a peak season there, we had less to choose from. To be honest, we were a bit hesitant to book Regal Riverside because it was quite far from downtown; but we just decided to choose it because it was the only 4-star hotel by that time which had Triple sharing rooms available and we didn't want to spend too much on hotel costs by booking separate double rooms. The pleasant surprise was that we didn't have to worry about airport transfers because Bus #A41 from the airport stops directly opposite the hotel. Also, going downtown is a breeze because there are buses that stop just outside the hotel that goes to TST, Jordan and Central. When we went to Disneyland, we just took a bus to the Shatin Bus Terminal (10mins away) and board a bus that goes directly to the Disneyland Resort.
The rooms are clean and spacious. The beds were on the softer side but the pillows were a bit hard. The Bathroom is not squeaky clean looking, but it could just be the lighting which is slightly dim. To be fair to housekeeping, the toiletries are always replenished, along with the complimentary bottled water. The kettle we got was defective which resulted to our electricity being cut off late at night, but we only got that fixed the following day, which was disappointing.
Apart from that, the 5-day experience was not regretable. Although my friends said that they will not come with me if I decide to book again.

Dear gbytes: Thank you for choosing Regal Riverside Hotel and sharing your valuable comments on Trip Advisor.

We are pleased to learn that in general you had a pleasant stay with us and found that our hotel is easily accessible to the airport as well as the downtown areas. We apologize for the short circuit problem caused by the electric kettle, our housekeeper is reminded to pay more attention on the set up in room to avoid similar happening.

Again, thank you for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you again in near future.

Low room rate and free shuttle from airport as well as in city . Number of restaurants in the hotel to choose from without going elsewhere. Dislike is this hotel handles too many tour groups that make the lobby/hall like a market.
