The hotel is located in Tsim Sha Tsui which is our favorite area in Hong Kong to stay in because it is very near affordable eateries, shopping areas and MTR station. The room is spacious enough and the check-in/out service was very smooth.

I stay in HK at least 3 times a year for business. The GD Hotel is old and in dire need of a thorough cleaning and design update. Dirty. The rooms are small, which I expect in this rate class, but ...ugh. Also, note that short of a suite, despite different names of grades of rooms, they are all almost exactly the same with the only difference being higher floors for more dough.

Staff was quite attentive and sweet. My advice would be with their great personalities they should look for a job in a hotel that is as wonderful as they are, and the GD is not it.

Room Tip: Don't choose. Go somewhere else.

This hotel is completely run down and i would not recommend any one to stay here.THey are ripping off people with prices they are charging.Don't be fooled by the good lobby, once you enter the hallways you get an idea of the old and run down this hotel has become. The bathroom is extremely dated and doesn't seem to be cleaned properly and the room is so small that two persons can't even walk around the room. There are better hotels available at cheaper prices like The Kowloon Hotel which is nearby.DO NOT STAY HERE.

Conveniently located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, close to the subway, many restaurants nearby, this hotel is good choice for a reasonable budget. The bathroom had been recently remodeled. the breakfast buffet is a real disappointment (especially coffee) although it is possible to choose between Chinese, Japanese and continental.

Stay family of 3.
Pluses - great location.

Others, terribly hard beds. Had bites and scratches daily, ask front counter changes bed and issues and no action nor concern. Room and hotel in dire need of revamp. Deco is horrible walls floors bathroom windows dirty....
The outer and foyer is impressive, it then stops.....

Upon check out I was then forced to wait 30 minutes to confirm my mini bar of a chip and water, you read correct even thou they had my near $250 CC holding for 7 days. I have never in all my years had such little integrity over such......

I suggest looking elsewhere

Stayed for 2 nights in a Superior Room. Size was decent for HK. But we were put on a smoking floor without asking or confirming with us. The toilet wasn't cleaned when we checked-in. Service was mediocre. Front desk gave us wrong directions to Temple Street. Better hotels are available for similar price range.

I booked this hotel for a 2 night stay with 2 friends whilst travelling China. As the only part of our trip where we would stay in a hotel, we were prepared to pay a reasonable amount, and paid £79 each for a 3 bed room.

On arrival, we were impressed with the hotel reception lobby area was very clean and posh! Check in staff were very polite and allowed us to check in and go to our room earlier than scheduled check in. The room was a good size, (although not big), and our advertised '3 bed room' was, in fact, a twin room. The maid rushed in and set up a fold out bed and provided us with extra slippers, shower gels etc, but no spare towels. The maid was also polite and friendly. The beds were comfortable, and the room and bathroom very clean. You couldn't hear any noise from outside, but were able to hear doors slamming and the guest above us walking around. Our room was by the lift so could also hear that 'dinging'. There was also building works going on, and drilling noise is inevitable, but there was a polite note from the hotel with apologies. This wasn't a problem for us, as the hotel was just a place to crash while out all day seeing sights, and there was no noise in the evenings.

The hotel is in a great location. Prat Avenue is full with restaurants and eateries. However, if you are looking for good, authentic Chinese food, you need to travel further afield, as most of the restaurants are very western. It is close to East Tsim Sha Tsui subway, which is ideal, and is within walking distance to a lot of Hong Kong sights. The Hong Kong subway is easy to use and provides great links to all you could want to do. The Hong Kong taxis are also a good price.

As I said, this hotel was booked just as a nice place to sleep after a day out and about in Hong Kong. For this purpose, it was perfect, clean and comfortable. The location was a great bonus. I will definitely book this hotel again on my next visit to Hong Kong, and recommend.
