I spent 3 nights in this hotel from 14th june to 17th june 2014. The location of the hotel is good. Close to stores and main area. But apart from that every part of the hotel is pathetic. First of all it doesn't deserve the 4 star rating. 3 stars is wat it can be given the max. The room was disgustingly small and the bathroom door couldnt be locked. The overhead shower was loose and the water would leak out of the shower. The spout didn't work and v had to only use the hand shower with little water pressure.

The hand dryer was 25 years old and so was the television. The staff was probably taught to be rude and not be courteous.

The breakfast was the same with not even an iota of change on all the days. The lobby has only one sofa set and guests have to stand all the while they are there.

There r quite a few good hotels around the area like panaroma and holiday inn. This hotel has only spent the money on lobby decoration and not on the rooms. Please DO NOT waste your money behind this property.

The Hotel is going through a period of revision but will come up nicely for those who seek a very sound location and a pleasant breakfast. Check in, out and staff worked seamlessly however a few smiles may have improved my review. Significantly the rooms are compact, clean and housekeeping kept the standard. The breakfast buffet is repetitious but sound choices and a great cup of coffee. The property is well located near all transport, Star Ferry and Nathan Road. Shopping opportunities are everywhere and no shortage of good eateries. Anywhere within Tsim Sha Tsui is my choice for accommodation in Hong Kong since I have visited since 1978. It is now very easy to spend $200 plus per night for a Hotel but once the Guang Dong's overhaul is completed, it will be a very good investment for Couples or a Business Traveller.

Room Tip: Executive Rooms offer a bit more.

When you enter the hotel, the lobby is very spacious. Front desk staff were friendly. Checking in was also a breeze.
Our room was at the end of the 5th floor, right wing, fronting the street. Room was cozy but carpets are worn-out & the smell of mold can be traced. There are also water marks which formed around the aircon ducts. At night, you can hear the street noise but bearable. At some time, we could smell food being cooked or prepared but we are not sure where the smell was coming from. We, however, recognize the friendliness and helpfulness of the housekeeping crew who provided us with necessities which we asked for.
But the best thing about the hotel is the proximity to the TST MTR station and nearby restaurants and shopping stores. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the hotel headed to Canton Road.

Room Tip: It would be good to ask for rooms not fronting the street. There are nearby bars with sounds echoing...

The hotel is located in Tsim Sha Tsui which is our favorite area in Hong Kong to stay in because it is very near affordable eateries, shopping areas and MTR station. The room is spacious enough and the check-in/out service was very smooth.

I stay in HK at least 3 times a year for business. The GD Hotel is old and in dire need of a thorough cleaning and design update. Dirty. The rooms are small, which I expect in this rate class, but ...ugh. Also, note that short of a suite, despite different names of grades of rooms, they are all almost exactly the same with the only difference being higher floors for more dough.

Staff was quite attentive and sweet. My advice would be with their great personalities they should look for a job in a hotel that is as wonderful as they are, and the GD is not it.

Room Tip: Don't choose. Go somewhere else.

This hotel is completely run down and i would not recommend any one to stay here.THey are ripping off people with prices they are charging.Don't be fooled by the good lobby, once you enter the hallways you get an idea of the old and run down this hotel has become. The bathroom is extremely dated and doesn't seem to be cleaned properly and the room is so small that two persons can't even walk around the room. There are better hotels available at cheaper prices like The Kowloon Hotel which is nearby.DO NOT STAY HERE.

Conveniently located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, close to the subway, many restaurants nearby, this hotel is good choice for a reasonable budget. The bathroom had been recently remodeled. the breakfast buffet is a real disappointment (especially coffee) although it is possible to choose between Chinese, Japanese and continental.
