“good standard hotel, on train line, great staff”
Reviewed 16 November 2011

This was an excellent budget plus hotel for that shopping trip to Hong Kong. Staff were extremely efficient and pleasant. Large sized room with views of skyscrapers (if you like that at night!), it had a large fridge and microwave oven which was very handy. Spotlessly clean. @Wifi available HK$120 per 24 hrs which was reasonable, although most hotels offer it free now. The train stops right at the front door, but don't bother re airport as the hotel can book you on a shuttle which operates every hour and is much easier, and in fact cheaper, than rail. Cost HK$90. I believe you can also catch the bus directly to the airport from behind the hotel for aboutHK$15. Whilst I looked in the touristy shopping centres, I found prices much cheaper in the 'locals' shopping centres and same quality

wide variety of buffet breakfast for vegetarians as well as non veg... fruits, juices... best of facilities like wake up call, clean swimming pool... large lobby, huge hotel similar to a 5* hotel amenities... room size is big, good for triple sharing also.. high quality bathroom amenities... Location is a big negative point as its very far from the main areas like Tsim Sha tsui, almost 45mins -1hr drive & all Indian restaurants, shopping areas are in Tsim sha Tsui only....

Room Tip: all rooms are good... higher the floor, better the views

I wanted a reasonably priced hotel to stay at for 15 nights and found the places I've patronized in Hong Kong and Kowloon in the past to be pricey now (an increase in some cases of 250%!). I assume this is because of the number of mainlanders now visiting Hong Kong to shop. After 8 trips, I decided to try this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews.

Yes . . . it is in the "New Territories" and would not be suitable if you're only visiting for a short time. However, the shuttle bus ride from the airport takes only 40 minutes (no worse than going into Hong Kong) and the MTR train system is excellent (get an Octopus Card) and is easy to use to go everywhere, if you're staying for awhile. I had a very large room (king bed, separate sitting area and kitchen on the 25th floor overlooking the park for $74 a night. The view was fantastic particularly at night. This hotel has 28 floors, is 11 years old and the staff's command of English is quite good. The tv selection of 41 channels is varied and 16 are in English.

There's an excellent grocery store in Tower 1 (floor 2F) that would put some Walmarts to shame. Great selection for anything you might need.

The one negative was internet availability. Only some rooms are wired for LAN (you need to ask) and wifi wasn't accessible in my room. I found the lobby wifi was very weak so I ended up going to the local McD's to use my ipad.

I found the housekeeping to be perfect and would consider returning.

Room Tip: High floor facing park

This hotel is far from anything you might want to do in Kowloon or on Hong Kong Island. So if you want to sightsee, it's a bad choice. We had a two day layover between flights and just wanted to relax. This hotel is modern and clean. However the toilet required multiple turns of the nob to flush. The shower had great water power. The room was a disappointment. We selected the hotel because it promised big rooms. We, however, were given the tiniest room in the entire building. 1501. Smaller than our room when we stayed in Wan Chai in the center of the city.
We had a king size bed with a nice duvet cover, but it dominated the room. This was a single room at best. The tv was an old style fat one. No flat screen here. We couldn't have both our suitcases open at the same time. The room was that tiny. But it was clean and quiet.

We did have a wall of windows that overlooked. Well, the mall and the street. No amazing view there.

The internet was expensive in the room, so we used the free wifi in the lobby. The hotel has an airport shuttle for a fee. Much cheaper than a cab though. It's a small mini-bus that runs pretty much every hour.

For food we went to Taste Cafe right around the corner. It has outdoor seating and connects to the mall.
We were in Building #1 I think. The pool was in the other building.

We enjoyed the movie theater in the adjacent mall.

When I asked for the code for roof top access, the front desk neglected to tell me that I had to hit the code and then the # button. This left me stranded on the roof for ten minutes until I called the front desk. They were hesitant to help me, until I repeated the code. Then they told me to push the # button. Not worth the trouble to see it.

Room Tip: Check out the floor map I included below. Shows which are tiny rooms. Stay away from 1501

Really-really nice hotel! It has VERY BIG rooms (for HK), a kitchen (stove/big fridge/MW oven). It is located between two VERY beautiful parks (Dragon park and Tin Shui Wai Park), bwsides there is Wetlands part 20 minutes by feet, very nice promenade along the river (15 minutes by feet) which goes directly to MTR Tin Shui Wai. There is a HUGE grocery store in the same building if you prefer to cook.
The only downside is that you need to ride 30 minutes by MTR to get to Tin Shui Wai and then transfer to 706 light metro to get to the hotel (4 short stops from MTR). But on the other side, the area is very calm and green. A lot of apartment complexes, schools etc.
And oh yes, very-very nice view from the window to the park.

Room Tip: I way staying in 2107 which is very-very nice. Would definitely recommend. I think on higher floors...

Whilst this hotel is in the New Territories I did not find it to be a problem, as there is a good public transport out the front of the hotel connecting you to all parts of Hong Kong. There is also the hotel Shuttle bus to both the airport and TST (the trip to TST is 22HKD but is cheaper than the MTR)
There is a nice park between the hotel towers as well as two small shopping centres. Not far down the road are the beautiful Hong Kong Wetlands well worth the visit.
The only real downside for me was no information about the hotel or local area in the room. (chanel 1 just advertises the pool and restaurant without giving enough info) As a result I had to go ask the front desk basic questions like what time is check out, where and how much is the shuttle bus, where is the swimming pool etc. The staff were always very polite and helpful. It would have been nice if the hotel provided a few items of cutlery and a few plates and bowls but the supermarket next door did have the items at reasonable prices.
I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to my friends. It was very easy to get to mainland China from there.

The surrounding area is great, 45 mins by shuttle into town (not included) airport shuttle (not included), rooms are nice, but the concept of customer service is beyond everyone but the front desk staff and the cleaners. After 5 years living here ( economic crisis helped as rents dropped) the stay is not worth the price. I have yet to meet a manager here who is nice, or will actually do something about any problems. They are dismissive, and attempt to make you feel guilty about any problem you may have. Services such as in room internet are not free, tennis courts, not free, (bar is very overpriced for the area, food, also overpriced at the hotel, ( food can be found at local restaurants for much cheaper, and much better quality, and 7/1 has much cheaper alcohol. For an international city such as Hong Kong there are much nicer places to stay... now that rents have gone back up, the costs far, far outweigh the benefits of this far off hotel in Hong Kong. Overall, for the price you pay, you can find a much better place much closer to the city area of Hong Kong...
