“Good-sized and clean rooms, quiet location, professional service”
Reviewed 25 January 2012

Highly recommend this hotel: reasonably-sized rooms (for HK standards!), well sound-proofed (can't hear neighbours, the corridor or outside traffic), and very clean. Great location - might seem far from the tourist hotspots of Causeway Bay and Kowloon, but it is a 5min walk to the Quarry Bay MTR station, which can get you into the midst of the hubbub of HK island in 10mins and over to Kowloon in 15-20mins. If you want to be close to the action but not have crowds of people at your doorstep, this place is ideal. The tram stops right outside the hotel, as do buses if you know where you're going! The hotel does offer a free shuttle service across both directions on HK island, but we didn't utilise it as the MTR is just too close and convenient!

The service is close to faultless - very professional and friendly staff. Even when we ran into a major problem with the room when we checked in, it was immediately rectified and very professionally handled by the customer service manager. Only slight downside would be the lack of local food places nearby (North Point is far busier and thus foodier), but with a Wellcome supermarket across the road and the MTR/tram so close it's not a major hassle.

Look out for good deals on rooms on various websites - the prices seem to vary so do shop around!

We are Long stay guest in the appartment suites.
The place is not value for money considering the property market.
Recommended for short stay for two months..good.

The hotel management revises the rents evey year without any notice to you.
Always negiote a long stay package well in advance either through jet airways or local agents in mumbai and delhi.
A lot of corporates are sending there people to stay forone year and they all need to leverage a good deal.
Last year advt 18888 on net.
This should be inclusive of breakfast which is a good deal.
Livingin hong kong is expensive and if your company pays no problem. But just incase you have to pay then its better to negiotiate prior to firming the booking and ensure no surprises latter of hikes.
Otherwise a well located property and its rates as 3 star.
its other property the resort is priced at 9500 and is 5 star.
The grand is highly recommended for all honeymooners/CEO as its location and ambience are fine.here again negiote prior if you like value for money.

Room Tip: please always negiote for sea view as they charge 200hkd extra than hill view. personally I feel th...

The hotel is excellent from the service, the rooms, the location and food. I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Hong Kong. Whilst not located near Nathan Road for those who wish to shop regularly the train subway is no more than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. From there you can go anywhere in Hong Kong very quickly. I will stay there again when next in Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Get a non smoking floor if not a smoker.

We stayed mid-December 2011 and enjoyed it. It's located a bit out of Central, but the MTR is close enough so that it's okay (just count on an extra 15 minutes to get to the hotel from Central). We took a top-floor one bedroom suite, which was just big enough for the four of us and got a great price for it on the web and upgraded to a top-floor harbour-view.

There's a few reasonable local restaurants and fast food joints and the hotel restaurants do spectacular yum cha and a reasonable breakfast (mostly western). There's also a small supermarket across the road that we found ourselves most days. The room had a small kitchenette with a microwave that was really useful as well.

Think about the top floor package if it's on offer ($500HKD a night for free internet, minibar [soft drinks and beer] and fruit basket [simple] as well as a harbour-view room on the top floor). If you use the internet or the minibar a bit, this is fabulous value, and the views are good (although unfortunately blocked a little by an office block).

The staff were great in the restaurants (and had fun with our young kids) and nice elsewhere (although very business-like). Only problem was a discrepancy with the bill. In the end the hotel conceded (which was nice) but ruined the effort somewhat by saying that we were still wrong. If only instead they'd acknowledged a difference of opinion, rather than having to state that we were wrong (which we weren't) we would have left feeling perfect.

Room Tip: The higher the better

We stayed here over the New Year as it was one of the few hotels that were reasonably priced over this busy period. It wouldn't have been our first choice as I think hotels in Central are better located. Exploring the city, I'd also be quite interested to stay in Causeway Bay next time as well because it seemed a lot more interesting than the location immediately surrounding this hotel.

The hotel seems to be popular with tour groups and a variety of foreign guests. The lobby and reception seem a bit dated, even with a lounge singer and piano. Staff were nice but not particularly accommodating when asked for a high floor and then given the fourth. I also asked for a harbour view but got a view that immediately looked over the back of the local police station. Thank you.

Rooms were somewhat small and although clean, could really use a refurb, especially with stark lighting and drab colours.

Hotel is well located from the metro station Quarry Bay which was very convenient. WIFI is NOT free in the hotel but there is a Starbucks around the corner in an office building which has free wifi and some good restaurant options. In the back streets around the hotel, there are a variety of little restaurants which was nice and a big Wellcome (grocery store) across the street which was most welcomed.

All in all, a decent hotel but no real compelling reason to stay here. I'd try for something more Central.

Room Tip: high floor

We were there from the 11th of Jan 2011 till the 14th Jan 2011

The Hotel is Good, clean and modern, although small rooms, we had the Harbour view room which had partly views of the Harbour,

The hotel is far from the attractions but the MTR is just across the road which makes it easy, however be ready to spend a minimum of 11 HK dollars per person for a single journey to the town center/attraction, there is a shuttle bus service to the town but again you don't want to be time bound.........

The hotel breakfast was quite nice for 135 HK dollars pp.
There are 2 bakery's near the MTR station, also a supermarket called Wellcome ( yes its Wellcome ) , Mcdonalds and a pizza hut all near the hotel

BUT..............the hotel staff was NOT friendly, i don't mean they were rude but no smile and no welcome, the staff treated everyone like customers and not guests as they always do in any hospitality industry ( must say Kennith was very good at the concierge ) actually a basic hotel don't think 4 star rating is appropriate for this hotel, no bell captains to take your luggage to the rooms or bring it down, overall dont have too many expectations from this 4 ****

oh ! we bought Octopus card for our travel and saved some money, its for 150 HK dollars per person with a 50 dollar refundable deposit, however when you go to take your refund they deduct 9 dollars............which they don't tell you when you buy the card

Room Tip: Harbour view rooms are OK
