Stayed two nights at reasonable rate as booked via British Airways. One of the Harbour Plaza chain. Room good and view from 30th floor spectacular. Noisy neighbours in adjoining rooms. Restaurant OK but nowhere as good as the Harbour Plaza Metropolis at Kowloon. Breakfast didn't have the range of its Kowloon sister.
I will stay here again if staying on the Island as its only 6HK$ into Central on the MTR

Room Tip: Rooms with Harbour view spectacular especially top floors

We elected this time to stay in a one bedroomed suite at the hotel (consists of one double bedroom, bathroom, living area (with pull down double bed), a dining area and a small kitchen. Whilst a little more expensive, we found it invaluable as a young family visiting family in Hong Kong - giving us a great base for an extended trip & somewhere to entertain friends & family. The room(s) are a couple of years old - but clean, non-offensive and just right for a home away from home. Our apartment was cleaned from top to bottom each day - and on the few occasions we had to contact housekeeping they were very efficient. Great view from the window overlooking the harbour (if you are lucky or pay the extra!). On this trip we didnt visit the restaurant - although on the night of our arrival (around midnight) we indulged in room service & the quality and service was excellent. Internet access is available although quite expensive at $130hk /24 - per device (not room!). We took advantage of the pool on several occasions which never seems to get too crowded, but is clean and pleasant and is well positioned so it is always 'slightly' shaded.
For us, the location is perfect if you need to be on the eastern side of the island - although it is very quick to get to Causeway Bay, Central or anywhere else really. Across the road is an MTR station (Quarry Bay exit C) - literally about 50 yds. Buses are available outside the hotel in both directions (east and west). If you're not in a rush, the Tram also stops outside. Taxis are easy to catch here & if your Cantonese is a bit rusty - the conceirge is available to help. Overall, superb location, efficient, comfortable hotel at a reasonable price (although shop around for the best deal)

Room Tip: Be nice to the hotel staff - it goes a long way!

I stayed for 6 nights, having booked 8 months earlier for about £47 per night. Checked the price just before I left home & it was £184 per night for the same room !!!

Very close to the subway station, use exit C, don't use exits A or B, as quite a long walk to hotel !!. Subway just a 15 min journey into central Hong Kong. There was a supermarket just across the road from the hotel, along with a 7/11 & McDonalds which provided my evening food & drink. The pizza place was expensive however..

The room was much larger than I expected with a nice bathroom. There was a strange/bad smell from one area of the room but the housekeeping staff gave the carpet a good clean which resolved the problem. The room unfortunately had a connecting door into the next room, which meant there were noise problems, along with gurgling waterpipes at certain times. The worst noise was on the last night when a family of inconsiderate Asians inhabited 3 rooms on the corridor and continually moved/shouted between them for several hours. I don't know why Asian people generally have a lack of respect for other people staying in hotels. Had the same problem in Dubai.

Overall, I liked the hotel, & would certainly consider staying here again, depending on the price.

this was our first trip to Hong Kong and our agent recommended this as a good place to stay. We found it good on the whole, breakfast was fine with a good choice, and because of a refurb and the pool being closed, they gave us an afternoon tea that was great, lots of little snacks and cakes. Like a previous review we found the bed extremely hard, like sleeping on the floor, and the pillows also not too good, but the room was large, nice bathroom, and quiet with good air con although we didn't need that in early Feb .
There is a bus to take you to and from the airport. Unfortunately I found this out after we got there' as although I e mailed and asked if they had one' they didn't reply which was disappointing, We caught it for the return journey and for $260 for 2 this was cheaper than the taxi which was $390.
The hotel is very convenient for the metro station which we found easy and cheap to use, also for $1 we had a tram journey which lasted a whole hour!

My husband and I stayed at Northpoint Harbour hotel with our credit card points.  The hotel was nice and served its purpose on our trip.  The room was clean, staff were friendly, and very close to public transportation.

The hotel is not close to the touristy areas but that was OK for us as the metro was around the corner which allowed us to get to any area within 5-10 minutes.

For our first day in Hong Kong, we had breakfast (coffee and pastry) at Java Mama, which located at the lobby of the hotel. It was good but very expensive.  Instead, opt for the yummy pastry shop located right outside the subway station where the pastry is right out of the oven and starting at 10 HK dollars.  I don't know the name of the pastry shop but it is a yellow building.

This isn't your 5 star luxury hotel by any means but, like I mentioned, it served it's purpose for us. It had a clean room for us and was very closed to th

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in Feb 2012 and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is a bit out but with the MTR a two minuite walk away and a bus stop outside the hotel and free hotel shuttle bus travelling was not a problem. The hotel offered an upgrade to a suite with unlimited WiFi use and unlimited drinks in the bar between 5 and 7pm. We decided not to upgrade and our room was really nice and a very good size and between 5 and 7pm its buy one drink get one free in the bar anyway so if you like a refreshment thats the best time to try the bar out. Hotel staff were really friendly and the rooms were cleanded to a hight standard every day. We booked through Alpharooms and had to move our booking on a day but they charged us an extra night which was totally out of order as we only moved the booking on a day due to flight change as snow at Heathrow stopped us flying on our original date. Never booking with Alpharooms again - also looks cheap but high charges for paying with Visa, switch etc.

This hotel has perhaps the worst beds and pillows of any four-star hotel I've ever stayed at. It almost felt like the room was haunted. I didn't get a single decent night's sleep during my stay.

Avoid at all costs!
