“The Best Of Both Sides”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

We have stayed at the Harbour Plaza North Point on two occasions and you just know good service when you receive it. The staff are fantastic and are very well trained in customer service. Our first trip was in 2007 and we last visited in 2012. We travelled with two young boys 6 & 11 then 11 & 17 on the second trip. The hotel were very flexible in accommodating us as there was a bit of confusion when we first arrived with only a sofa couch for the two kids. But they quickly solved this and had another bed brought up and were very helpful in making sure we were happy with the outcome. Make sure you touch base the concierge who are the best for local info and all speak Yin Mun (English) The location is ideal on the blue MTR line and only six stops from Central Station which is the main stop on the Island The MTR is a very safe form of transport and you will have no issues travelling beyond the tube. The Hotel is convenient to the North Point Station being about a two minute walk across the road past the Welcome Supermarket. (great for milk & cereal as the breakfast in the hotel can be little sharp) The MTR is an extremely safe way to travel in Hong Kong and once you master the Octopus card you will be a converted MTR traveller. Just a debit card you can buy at the bigger stations and load almost anyway and just scan onto a station and scan when you leave. Plus you can use it anywhere you see the the Octopus symbol which is just about anywhere. There is so much to do in Hong Kong, Disney Land (full day), Ocean park (two days), Big Buddha (great condala sky ride) Macau, the outer Islands, the markets and don't forget the night markets. If you are looking for a family destination where longing by the pool and sipping drinks all day aint for you, then Hong Kong is a great option. We would leave the Harbour Plaza at around 0830 and would not get back till around 2100 cos there is so much to do in this city. I should say the hotel has great pool on the 9th floor and a well equipped gym but given there is so much to see and so much to do, this fantastic hotel is just a launching point for the best 6 to 10 days an adventurous want to experience

Room Tip: No issue on room selection as the rooms are in the tower but I would encourage all visitors to Hong...

Stayed here as part of a business trip. Sixty metres from MTR and also buses and trams at the front door. Good location but not near the tourist areas, shopping or night life.

No free wi-fi and the lifts were shocking. In addition the bar service was very slow.

Great buffet breakfast and the staff were fine. Fair hotel but not right in the action but it was cheaper than Kowloon options and with the MTR the action is only 15 min away.

Most of the hotels in Hong Kong, even 3 stars, provided free wi-fi to guests but not this one. The hotel rate is not cheap. It is quite disappointing and inconvenient that one has to pay for extra cost for such a service. It is a bad customer approach, if they want to attract future guests, they need to consider customer satisfaction and need. I would book another hotel which has free wi-fi.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite, and it was amazingly comfortable. The bedroom itself was a very nice size for Asia, but having the extra sitting room made it a great place to relax, even have company for a while. A small kitchen is in the suite, but I didn't use it at all. The shower was a bit of a tight fit for western standards. There was a retractable clothes line in the shower, which could come in handy. It had a great view of the harbor, and part of the nightly light show.
The hotel is connected to a small mall, and just across the pedestrian crosswalk over the road is the MTR station.

Room Tip: I would suggest choosing a higher floor for better views of the harbor, but know that due to angles...

Stayed as a couple for two nights in November 2012. Loved the hotel but wished I'd stayed in Kowloon to be near the night life across the bay. However this hotel has everything. Meals were great and reasonably priced for our pocket. Dessert after dinner has to be seen to be believed and there are no limits on your helpings. On one of the evenings we were offered free lobster as a starter. What can I say! Getting around Hong Kong is easy. You can choose tram, bus, taxi, star ferry, and underground trains. On departure I left my jacket ion the foyer and a security man came rushing out with it. They pay great attention to customers at all levels. When we presented our passports at reception I was stunned to have the receptionist bow to us. Staff were so polite it was totally disarming. Lovely people. Just across the road from the hotel there is a Starbucks and it was a wonderful place to repair to and watch the local people rush around on their daily commute after a long day exploring. The entrance to the underground is next to Starbucks across the road from the hotel. It's frenetic and exhilarating. Wish I had more time to explore. Catch a Star Ferry across to Kowloon and visit China Town I felt as if I was on a film set and Bruce Lee was going to jump out a door.

Room Tip: If you are going to Kong Kong I'd suggest to stay in Kowloon. That way you are right in the midd...

Have stayed in a basic room, a one bedroom suite and a two bedroom suite in this hotel... One phrase comes to mind for all these experiences: "Great value for your money". Real bang for your buck!

Room sizes (except the basic room) are reasonably good. Reasonable layout of the rooms too.

Tremendous convenience... Quarry Bay Railway Station is just across the road! A grocery store is less than 10 meters away!

Staff is helpful, shows concern (and I have experienced great improvement in English standards among the staff - over the last 7 years...)

Stay this hotel as part of our anniversary trip to Asia this summer. I had emailed the hotel in advance to let them know it’s our anniversary celebration and not just I got responded right the way and arrived to our room, special amenities were well prepared inside with a personalized message for welcoming. Special thanks to Gary Wong for his wholehearted hospitality and made our anniversary trip a memorable one.

The hotel is not in the central area of HK but located in good location where MRT station just across the street. Free shuttle bus service from Hong Kong station to the hotel and to the nearest city plaza which is very convenience for traveler. Our room was harbour facing, very clean and tidy. Room package was a good deal and lots cheaper than comparable hotels in town while the service was exceptionally fantastic. We will definitely stay here again on our next return to HK.
