when the receptionist aknowledged that it was my 50th time at their hotel , I was a little surprised , but on the other hand it's always been my favourite hotel at HKG .
From the limo waiting for me at the airport , to the service , to the wonderful sight of the Bay from the rooms , to the various excellent restaurants , to the location in kowloon , everything for me made this hotel the best choice during my frequent trips to and from China .

Room Tip: Chose always a room with Bay view

The hotel is probably the best positioned of any on the Kowloon side of the harbor when it comes to proximity to the harbor. Watching the comings and goings on the harbor while enjoying a cool drink at sunset in the lobby lounge is worth the price alone.
I stayed in a harbor-view room, which had recently been renovated. First class bathroom, wonderful true king size bed, and plenty of space are features, but of course at the end of the day it is about the view. Yes, it is expensive, but given its position it is worth every bit of it.
Check-in and out was a breeze. Staff are unobtrusive yet there when needed, such as when looking for a taxi when it is pouring with rain. I have been staying at this hotel for more than 12 years...I will be back.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get a harbor-view room...you owe it to yourself!

I have stayed at the Intercon for several trips over the past 3 years. First off, Asian hotels are usually far and away more luxurious and service-oriented than their European or American counterparts from the same chain, and this is no exception. However, even among Asian luxury hotels this stands out for the drop-dead amazing view of Hong Kong harbor that hits you the minute you walk into the lobby. We usually stay in a room with Executive Lounge access and a harbor view. The buffet breakfast at the lounge is extensive and very good, as well as the evening cocktails. Good selection at the bar as well. The room is a good size, minimalist Asian modern, very bright, and the bathroom is 5 star. How lovely to wake up in the morning to the view of the junks, cruise ships and ferries in the harbor and the HK skyline. At night, the lights are mesmerizing. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. No other Intercon comes close, and very few other HK hotels do.

Room Tip: Splurge for the harbor view and the Executive Floor.

We stayed at the ICON HK 6/21-6/23 and had high expectations for the InterCon. As an Ambassador our room were upgraded but were not offered the harbor view side and don't really see how the room was a level up from the standard room. The TV doesn't lineup directly in front of the bed so you kind of have to watch TV on a slanted angle. One of the biggest issues we had was that the old-fashioned toilet (with a metal lever handle) and the extremely loud flush. The swimming pool seems ok but the infinity pool was "under maintenance". This should have been communicated upon check-in but you only would find out if you ask the staff by the pool. There was not even a sign put up. Besides that, the local and the view of the HK skyline is great.

Room Tip: ask for harbor view

The property sits behind the avenue of the stars which is an attraction in itself. The hotel has a very nice view of the harbor. Although it is a hotel that is not easy to get to via public transportation. The room we got was on the eleventh floor and had a partial view of the harbor. There is still construction going on beside the hotel but the construction is happening underground and we did not hear any construction noises. Room itself was nice although a bit dated. Service was top notch and hotel staff tried to do their best to meet our needs.

Great hotel, with outstanding lounge. This is the place to stay in Hong Kong. A little pricey, but well worth it. Easy access to ferry and to the subway. Very nice area with the Kowloon shopping district

Stayed here for 3 nights on vacation. Originally booked regular room but after hearing all the rave reviews here, I upgraded to the Harborview. Personally I think that if it wasn't for the view, the rooms would not have been worth it at all, but wow, the view of Hong Kong Island side did not disappoint. I must have spent 90% of the time while I was in the room looking out the window. The rooms certainly aren't cheap but for those once in a lifetime experiences and special occasions I think it would be worth it to splurge on.

The room itself is also quite nice. After staying at two W hotels during the same trip I would describe the IC HK as classic elegance. The one nitpick I have is the toilet. It had one of those bar flush handles that you would find in a public toilet. Seemed out of place at a 5-star signature property. Other than that, the lobby was beautiful, the infinity pool also with the view of Victoria Harbor another great experience, and the staff was helpful and friendly. I actually can't wait for the opportunity to stay here again. Loved this place.
