“Great Hotel and Great Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

The Eaton Hotel in Hong Kong, cannot be faulted. The Rooms are good, the service is good, the bars are great the pool on the roof is great, and the restaurants could not be faulted. I particularly the international buffet, the food was sublime, and the wine, which I might add was recommended by a very knowledgable waiter, was to die for. Next year when we return to HK this is where we will stay. First Rate.

Stayed 3 nights in the Eaton Deluxe Rooms on level 17.
The room was quite spacious, comfortable and well-maintained, with minimum noise disruptions.

We booked a room with a queen-sized bed. It should be noted though, that the room with the king-sized bed was noticeably larger than the one we chose.
Anyway the bed was nice and comfy.

The free Wi-Fi was working pretty well and is appreciated.
Furthermore, the hotel location is pretty good, with lots of local and international dining options in its immediate surroundings.
The nearest MTR station is Jordan and it is only about 5 to 8 mins walk from the Hotel, with a lot of buses as well. There is also a large Sasa about 2 streets away and just round the corner of the hotel.

Breakfast was apparently decent with a mix of continental and local dishes but as there are a lot of dining options near the hotel, it is recommended that guests spend some time exploring them. Many of the cafes have been around the area for decades. There is also a convenience store and a 24 hour Tsui Wah restaurant located just next to the hotel.

Moreover, the swimming pool and the gym, though quite small, were clean and functional for a relaxing and healthy stay in Hong Kong, making the hotel a good value for your money.

The staff were very friendly, efficient and pleasant throughout our stay. Many locals and taxi-drivers are familiar with Eaton Hotel so the asking of directions is easy, when needed.

All in all, we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at Eaton Hotel.

Eaton is conveniently located on Nathan Road with many shops and restaurants down the road. Very close to Jordan MTR station which is about a 5-10 walk, and a short cab ride to Kowloon Station for the Airport Express (you can also take the complementary Airport Express shuttle to the hotel from Kowloon Station; a shuttle every 10 mins).

Staff weren't very efficient in checking me in since I had to wait 15 mins in a queue before someone helped me. They were to store my luggage while I roamed Hong Kong and brought it up to my room when I returned.

The rooms looked very modern but the carpet looked dirty and worn. The room was a little small, but since I was staying solo, it was adequate for me. I was impressed by how clean the room was, other than the dirty carpet. A complementary bottle of filtered water was provided in a reusable glass bottle as well as shampoo, body wash, and hand soap provided in reusable bottles with a pump. The bed was comfortable with relatively clean. There was an iPod dock with built in alarm clock on the nightstand. The wifi in the hotel was free and very strong with a 5-7 Mbps download speed. The room is not completely sound proof so you will be able to hear loud people talking in the hall or people slamming their doors.

I have stayed at different hotels in Hong Kong and I would rate Eaton as one of the better ones that I have stayed at. I would only recommend this hotel if you are travelling solo since the rooms are really small.

3 nights on business. Rooms were fairly small but that wasn't too much of an issue - this I HK after all. Staff were excellent in the main, helpful, courteous and prompt with most things. Leo on the front desk was particularly good.

However, it all felt a bit dated, one night the lights couldn't be turned off and the rooms themselves were not very sound proof. The reality is not as smart as the hotel's website makes out - but that's not uncommon!

There are many dining options, and the Japanese restaurant was good and great value. Location is also good with Jordan MTR very close and there are plenty of convenient stores and coffee bars nearby. Wifi was also fast and reliable.

Would I stay again? Possibly, but I'd go for the Club Rooms, which look smarter and have breakfast included.

Hotel is conveniently located near Nathan Road and is easily accessible to the MTR (approx 3 mins walk).

I was particularly impressed by the staff at the reception counter when checking in and out of the hotel. They were very polite, friendly and very meticulous. The room is of acceptable size and is really cozy. I am one person who pays great attention to the bathroom and am impressed by the good standard of maintenance. It is not only clean but also filled with the essential toiletries.

The free wifi in the room was good. i was able to connect to the internet and other applications with ease.

As I had little time at night, I still managed to walk across the street to shop at Temple Street at late hours, and was happy to get get some good bargains.

Getting to the airport is hassle free. One can also hop onto the free Airport Express shuttle bus that will bring you to Kowloon Station to take the Airport Express Train to the airport, just in front of the hotel.

I had a good experience staying at the hotel and would recommend it to all travellers, whether on business or leisure.

A spectacular way to escape the world and bustling Hong Kong... with lovely people like Marilyn, whom consistently go above and beyond their call of duty, it is no wonder I wouldn't dream of anywhere else to stay while I am in Hong Kong.
As a part of the E-Club, you can enjoy a bit of peace and quiet mid-day or late afternoon, as well as a nice happy hour with delicious cheeses, wines, and savory snacks... and if it isn't to your taste, no worries, the lovely E-club staff can help find something perfect for you! With Keith quick on the drinks and Renee always smiling and Mimi always inspired by great stories and willing to share big hugs and smiles, you even feel as if this little place is a big taste of home!
(My only comment is to bring breakfast back to the E-Club! A peaceful morning is the best way to start... it is more personal, more pleasurable and more efficient when checking in and out!)
