“Highly memorable stay with exceptional service.”
Reviewed 13 March 2012

I recently stayed at Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong to celebrate a special birthday with family and friends. We were fortunate enough to book rooms in the grand club wing which gave us access to the grand club lounge for breakfast and evening cocktails. Our choice of hotel proved to be absolutely perfect, we were looked after superbly from check in to departure. In our party we had 3 "senior citizens", young people in their 20s and 30s and a 10 month old baby so our demands were indeed varied. The team at Grand Hyatt dealt with everything totally professionally and in a way that made us feel very much at home. On my actual birthday whilst drinking my pre dinner champagne courtesy of hyatt club I was presented with a magnificent birthday cake in the model of a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket, presented by Gordon the hotel's General Manager!
At our request the cake was delivered to the outside restaurant where we we having dinner which was a lovely touch. Baby sitting was arranged with a lovely reliable lady who had worked for Grand Hyatt for many years. We booked a private guided city tour on a small coach via the hotel which suited us perfectly.

A special mention for Jake, the Grand Club Manager, and his team who were so helpful throughout our stay. For anyone planning a special holiday in Hong Kong or indeed any stopover I recommend Grand Hyatt 100%

I have been blown away by the opulance and beauty of this hotel . From the moment we arrived we have been treated with courtesy and the most respectful attentiveness. From the fruit on our arrival to the birthday cake this evening courtesy of our concierge ,we couldn't ask for more. Everything is immaculate, our room is spacious and comfortable, the bathroom is equipped with everything we could need and the hotel is very conveniently situated for the Star Ferry port, MTR metro line and and main streets. The staff are very knowledgeable and able to provide maps, suggestions for places to visit, dinner reservations etc etc.

Room Tip: Corner room is usually more spacious but does not neccessarily have a view (not really a problem for...

I stayed on a one week business trip. The bedroom was fine and clean with a relatively recent refresh. The bathroom was a little like a Sopranos bathroom with black marble and gold but still clean and good to use.

The gym is pretty good with some free weights and a decent selection of different cardio machines.

Breakfast buffet was great but then it should be at 300HKD so either have the breakfast included rate or "go for it" to try and get your monie worth.

The swimming pool was closed for some maintenace but looked a decent pool to relax by or train in.

Dont eat in the steak restaurant steak with pepper sauce good but the price will bring tears to your eyes.

Am booked to come back in 2 weeks time and won't mind it a bit even though the newer hotels around are better.

Our stay at the Grand Hyatt HK was nothing short of fantastic! The staff particularly Raymond (housekeeping) and Danny and mostly Jake were absolutely brilliant and couldn't be any more helpful. We were there to celebrate my mum's 60th and they pulled out all stops to make it extra special - the cake was superb and a work of art. We also had our 10 month old daughter with us and nothing was a problem, which of course made our stay very stress free. We'll be back - thank you!!!

Stayed for a week with a mix of business and leisure. Last stayed over 10 years ago and though the hotel looks largely the same it's been very well maintained. Had a harbour view room - fabulous view to both HK and Kowloon. Good size and very clean. Shower pressure wondrous!

Room and eating prices what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel, but with really efficient and friendly service the value is pretty good on the whole.

Conference facilities were very good, with excellent refreshments and buffet lunch.

Only downside is no metro station close by, but with hk cabs so cheap this is no real problem.

A great alternative to some of the glitzier new hotels on HK island.

Stayed in for 2 nights last weekend. Everything was perfect. Service with a smile, staff always willing to help, front desk made eye contact and was in high spirits, room was usual Hyatt, lobby restaurant staff was not hurrying us to eat, order or leave despite us coming at 11.55pm. Good job for a flawless operational excellence.

Versus my previous entry on another premium hotel in HKG, I am convinced Grand Hyatt is No 1 in HKG.
