The Island Pacific is a clean, well run hotel. There was a large breakfast buffet and the staff were friendly and helpful. At the back of the hotel you can jump on a tram that will take you to the nearest metro station in less than 15 minutes. It's worth paying the extra for a room at the front of the hotel because you will get a good view of the Kowloon and the water. The Island Pacific "does the job".

A fairly nice hotel but only stayed one night. Chose it because it is close to the docks to get a ship to Macau. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The actual area doesnt offer much other than Hong Kong ambiance but from high up in my room the view was very nice.

Over all a good hotel which if you intend to get a boat in the morning this is the place to stay otherwise get something in a better location.

I have to say I enjoyed my stay at Island Pacific. It is located in Sheung Wan, which is easily accessible by public transport from Central so it is easy to go out or dine well and return to the hotel without extra hassle.

The room I stayed in was adequately sized and fairly well furnished. A small detail was a big stain on the carpet, but other than that, the rooms were cozy and spacious enough for two people and the view was fairly nice as well. I especially enjoyed the large windows, which lighted up the room nicely in the mornings. The service that was provided was very friendly and sometimes even felt a bit excessive, but I guess that is a nice thing.

I tried also the buffet dinner at the hotel as I got one person for free. The price normally is around 280HKD+10% SF. The food is mostly delicious but it's lacking variety. I was actually a bit disappointed at first but I found out the reason for the lack of food as the buffet is also all you can drink. So overall I guess it's an ok deal as if you have a few glasses of wine and a beer in central, you already end up paying some 200HKD. If you prefer not to drink alcohol, then I would say the buffet is delicious but definitely lacking variety.

I must see I really enjoed our stay t the Island Pacific Hotel. We stayed there 3 nights in 2 twin bed rooms on the 11th floor.

It started off great with checking in 2 hours before the allowed check in time.

The rooms are a bit small, but very modern and clean. But I must say that everything worked out just great.

The hotel personel are very friendly and will help you with everything you need like finding a taxi or giving you tips.

The hotel is located in an old original Hong Kong neighbourhood with a lot of little shops and 24 hour supermarkets (7-11). Its a 10 min walk to the nearest MTR station, and just walking down the street. But you might consider taking a cab because it can be very hot.

Island Pacific is great if you looking for a modern, professional and nice hotel. The online downside Is that theres no free wifi; but hey.. There's enough to see!

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel, we were arriving from Nez Zealand, exhausted after a long flight, and we didn't know what to expect... and it was the perfect location! We asked them in advance how to get there, are our flight was arriving very lately, and they told us to take the Airport express and then a taxi: when we arrived, the concierge took all our bags and we went upstairs to do the check in: they upgraded us in a great room with a gorgeous harbour view, the room was very confortable, and the concierge brought our bags directly to our room.

After a good night sleep, we had 1 day to go to the post office (we wanted to travel light so had to post some stuff back to France, nb: do not hesitate, I posted 17kg of luggage and they arrived within 1 week!!!), visit a bit the city, and go to an other HK Island in order to see the light show... Everytime we went to the reception to ask the concierge where to go, which bus to take, how long it would take, how much it would cost and if we would need some change, they were there for us! Thanks to the excellent service of this hotel, we had the time to do everything we wanted, to see even more things that what we were planning to, and everything stress-free!

And yes, as it has been told in other reviews, the hotel isn't in the touristic city center, but this is even better because you don't have a touristic flow when you get out, as you would have on Nathan road, instead you see the street market, local restaurants, and you can easely grab the bus if you want to reach the MTR or take the boat to the "touristic area".

The harbour view room is so great! Shuttle bus is convenient going to IFC mall, and getting to MTR from there is hassle free. Love the location cos its not too crowded.
Overall a low budget hotel that impressed me with their service. I got no complains.
