“A Remarkable Stay”
Reviewed 23 June 2012

We arrived at Langham Place just before 9am on 4th June, exhausted after an overnight flight from Paris. The reception girls at Club Loung gave us a warm welcome and offered glasses of FRESH orange juice. To our surprise, the room was ready for us to rest. At 3pm, I went to the Club L again and requested change to a larger room. Teaki, a reception girl, helped us carry our substantial luggage and move to suite room 3836. As soon as she opened the door, we were so pleased to see a marble kitchen equipped with Miele electrical applicance, a big lounge and a spacious bedroom, marble batheroom and even wardrobes with marble floors. Both lounge and bedroom have floor to ceiling glass windows facing the beautiful bay. The suite is beautifully and stylished furnished. It was worthy every extra penny to upgrade.

The housekeepers made the suite spotless and the bed crisp with fresh linens every day. Some viewers mentioned about a hard bed, I would say a firm bed, but with 6 different pillows it provides a nice sleep. The turn down service was fantastic and each night a different small gift was left on the bed site table: jelly beans, stress release star, a bag of dry lavender flower.

The staff in Langham Place were so nice and all greeted us with smiles, especially the staff at Club L, very friendly and helpful. My husband needed a dentist urgently upon arrival. Vincent, a manager tried to contact the dentist several times till an appointment was made for the same day. Vincent not only printed out the map of the location, but also came down to show us the easiest way to go there. I had a fall at Holliday Inn and the staff there provided first aid on my wounded knee. When I came back, the Club L staff noticed and they were genuinely concerned. Soon after I came to my room, the front desk manager Dennis Law phoned in, enquiring about my injury and offered to help. I was really touched.

The Club Lounge provides superb breakfast. Every morning 4 kinds fresh pressed juice, nice fresh fruit salad, top quality smoked salmon, cheese and a lot of other varity of food. Our first breakfast started at 10:28, 2 minutes before closing and we surpried to see plenty of food on display: full jugs of fresh juice, full tray of fruit salad and other items. The following morning, I noticed the kitchen staff kept checking and putting out more fresh food all the time. Fresh orange juice was provided all day long. In the afternoon, you could have high tea there. For those who are chocolate lovers will be happy to see nice chocolates available from afternoon to night. In the evening, the Club L has very tasty canapes.

Ming Court is the best pace for Yum Cha. Each small dish is artistic and so delicious you could not find elsewhere. Prices were reasonable for that quality.

Some people comment a good hotel as "Home away from home". Hangham Place is better than home! Superb food, excellent service, friendly and caring staff, luxurious room, good location (HK$40 - 50 to Tin Sha Tsiu by taxi). Will definetly stay there next time visiting Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Room 3836 is really beautiful and spacious.

We stayed at the Langham Hotel for 5 nights. There was a group of us so we paid for rooms that included use of the lounge area so that we could gather in the lounge to relax after a day of shopping or sightseeing. The service was fabulous and the food and drinks in the lounge were plentiful. The hotel is a short walk to the night markets and the subway so although not right in the middle of the busy section of Nathan road was very convenient.

We did not really enjoy Hong Kong apart from Disneyland as we felt very claustrophobic in the crammed and busy city. However, the langham place was quite a pleasant environment to be based in. The staff were friendly, the hotel is clean with a nice modern design.

The location was great, with easy access to good food (great huge dim sum restaurant a few blocks away), good shopping and the subway. We took the subway to quite a few places but in retrospect, we should have just remained in Mongkok for all the food and shopping. The subway and the streets of Hong Kong are generally not stroller-friendly.

Only complaint was that someone tried to open our door at about 5am. I notified the hotel of this incident in the morning and they got back to me after reviewing the surveillance footage. Apparently a drunk guest was trying to find his way back.

I stayed at this hotel for business for one week. Situated in Mong Kok, Kowloon next to the Langham Place shopping mall it is a really great hotel to stay. Langham Place and Mong Kok is one of the epicenter for shopping in Hong Kong, the hotel is next to the Mong Kok subway station. It can be reached from the Lantam airport easily via train to Kowloon station and then Taxi for $5.- Rooms are on the smaller side but excellent equipped with everything you need, including all the electronic toys for your ipods, free internet (I avoid any 4-5 star hotel which is charging for internet). A Spa, pool, great restaurants with excellent breakfast buffet serving exceleent food add to the overall stay. The staff was extremously corteous, always helpful. Compared to the US SouthEast Asia is normally at least 2 notches in service above any US 4-5 star. Can only strongly recommend.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms above floor 26.

We stayed over for one night and the views from the 25th floor were fantastic. The bath was just what we needed after a long flight from Melbourne. We had dinner at the hotels restaurant and found that to be a great experience.

We stayed here 4 nights in May. Great place to stay if you're planning to spend a bit of time in Mongkok. Hotel is very close to the MTR but it takes 15 minutes or more to get into Hong Kong Central. As we were traveling to Central everyday, we found taking the subway so often a bit of a drag, although the subway is clean and efficient and not too crowded if you avoid peak hours.

The art in the hotel is edgy and everywhere. We ate at the hotel's 2 star Michelin restaurant Ming Court. Wonderful food, excellent well priced wine list and exceptional service in a beautiful setting.

The buffet breakfast was OK, but I gave up trying to find a good cup of coffee in Hong Kong. The milk is pretty ordinary! Concierge service was very good. Try to take advantage of one of their free walking tours of Mongkok. Very informative and helps you to get a great feel for the area. The shopping in Mongkok is fantastic. Don't miss the Ladies Market and a whole street just devoted to shoes!

Overall, the hotel was good value but we wished they included free wi-fi. Signing up was cumbersome and the service was relatively expensive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high enough floor that it's accessible via the express elevators. Cuts waiti...
