“An Oasis in the busy shopping district”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

First thing I can say is pay the extra for a Club Room, it is so worth it. Breakfast can be had in the club lounge or if you want the choice of even more food then downstairs at the buffet. The service is fabulous where ever you go in the hotel. With a club room you check in on the 36th floor in the club lounge, there are drinks available all day as well as a lovely afternoon tea and pre dinner nibbles. The breakfast is so large we didnt need lunch so would just have afternoon tea then a nibble for dinner which was still plenty of food. They even have jelly beans, M&Ms and gummy bears in jars all day for the kids. The standard of food and beverages available is fabulous. The room was nice with too many extra touches to list, there is a turn down service every night where they leave a little gift on your pillow, plenty of bottled water supplied and a very comfy bed. The rooms were impeccably clean with all toiletries supplied, even down to body scrub and a shaver with lotion. The ladies markets are just across the road and the hotel is above a large shopping centre with a food hall and supermarket. The pool is very nice on the roof with great views, towels etc provided then there is a steam, sauna and hot spa in the ladies toilets with showers and amenities provided if you are on a late flight you can freshen up there then sit in the Club lounge with a drink and something to eat, the staff are fabulous trying to fill us up before we got on the plane as they knew about airline food. The hotel is right on the MTR use it is so easy even for an Aussie with no trains near our home, you click on the map where you want to go it tells you the cost of the ticket put in your money and off to the well marked train platform, there is even a digital map on the train telling which station it is coming up to, we went to Shenzen on the train all very easy. I would not even bother to look for where to stay next time in HK I would just go straight back to Langham Place, even the kids are welcome in the Club lounge, all were well behaved during our stay and I find if they are not mine I dont take any notice. We will be back again as we had such a nice time and the place was fabulous.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a club room, it is worth every cent

Hotel location: excellent! It is directly linked to shopping centre, where the subway (MTR) station (Mongkok station). The shopping centre has supermarket (buy water, fruits, breakfast), branded goods etc. The location is clean, safe and organized. One block away from the hotel is chaotic, haphazard and throbbing with life. You can choose to stay within the sterile environment of the hotel, or step 1 block out into the real fun place. Two blocks behind the hotel is a market, selling fruits, vegetables, butchers chopping up meat at the shop front, etc. All around the hotel is good and affordable food in small and big eateries. The Ladies’ market (night market selling touristy stuff) is 3 blocks away.

Hotel room: the room is quiet and we do not hear noise from outside or from internal corridor. The room is clean and fresh looking. Our party comprised 3 adults and paid for 1 king size bed and 1 single (roll away) bed. There is only walking space, so for our party of 3, the room size is small, but this is to be expected in any city. Glass and mirror are used extensively so that the room does not feel small. The room has all the usual facilities (kettle, mini bar, flat screen TV with relevant international channels, bathroom accessories, etc). Our room came with free wifi, but we also note free wifi everywhere in the hotel common areas, without using any password. When we feedback that the wifi was weak in our room, the hotel gave us a booster without much delay. Small housekeeping matters were all settled quickly too, without much fuss or complications. Free bottled water is provided daily.

En suite toilet/bathroom: Good size, with bath tub, shower stall, wash hand basin and WC. Shower stall is stand alone and contains water in reasonably well. All stuff replenished adequately daily.

Hotel service: hotel confirmed my booking quickly. It also helped me to reserve dinner at its 2 Michelin star Chinese restaurant. Concierge and check in staff are helpful, patient, friendly and polite.

Hotel pricing: We booked for 3 adults and the quotation came for 3 adults sleeping on ONE king-size bed. If the 3rd adult needs a separate bed, additional charges apply.

Great room, a bit small though, the bathroom is very nice, lots of amenities, confortable bed. Great roof top pool, but often to many children to be quiet and pace full. Great great spa with dry sauna and steam room with an amazing view of the city! room service is very nice but pricy for Asia. The rooms and the hallways are getting tired though... great breakfast!

Room Tip: higher is better,

I've just come back from 7 nights at the Langham Mongkok.

It was my first time there, but definitely not my last.

The standard of service was outstanding and my room excellent. Highly recommend Club L.

Our room was on the 39th floor. Great view and got the residential suite which had a kitchen.

Air conditioning best ever and bed sooooo comfy.

Spent 2 nights here at the end of a Far East cruise. Very clean, staff extremely helpful, and good views from our room. Hotel was connected to a shopping centre for avid shoppers, and within a 5 minute walk there were several markets. If you wish to purchase anything from the markets make sure you barter and stand your ground. The area of Mongkok is more authentically Chinese than most other areas of Hong Kong, and there are plenty of little eateries that produce fantastic food at reasonable prices. Tip: For a really good view of Hong Kong at night take a visit to the rooftop bar in the Lan Kwai Fong hotel, a short trip on the metro, the view is fantastic.

We wanted to stay in a good hotel yet not too expensive like the HK side properties and Langham Mongkok fitted the bill perfectly.

The rooms we stayed in had iPhones, which we could use for local browsing and calling, which was very useful. The browsing speed was very slow though. The area being Mongkok was very busy and not much to do. Conveniently located with the subway right under. The food was quite good too.

Rooms are not large, but thats Hongkong. The roof top pool and Jacuzzi are definitely worth spending some time on. On the whole, would recommend it.

Room Tip: Try to take the room category with iPhones if you are an international visitor. The place also offer...
