“Excellent location and Loved Club L and the Spa”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Originally booked in a twin room on the club floor but upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette. The rooms are small so glad we upgraded so we could spread out - one in the bedroom and the other in the living room. Would have preferred more room vs. a kitchenette since we did not use it. The location is fantastic - night market and ladies market down the street. Can access the metro by going next door to the mall and heading to the lower floor to the subway. Club L is worth the extra funds!! Had breakfast in the morning and then came back after a day of touring and would use their amazing massage chair on our tired bodies while sipping a cocktail. The spa was fantastic - did a full day of treatments to help with the long flight home and it was magnificent. Beautiful views from our room and the pool was incredible.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the club level

The location of this hotel is very good from a convenience perspective. It is right next to the Mongkok underground station which is part of the Tsuen Wan line which connects most parts of HK without interconnections. The rooms are of a decent size and very neat and clean. Enjoyed my stay here.

I've stayed at Langham Place four times now. Each experience has been good. The rooms are top notch, the view is always good. The bathrooms are spacious and very comfortable.

Experienced concierge the first time this past visit - strong rain and wanted a specific type of restaurant. They supplied umbrella's, and smartly told us a restaurant on the next block would be best option as we'll have hard time getting taxi back to hotel in strong rain. Restaurant was perfect - exactly what we wanted.

I like Mong Kok as it is closer to real Hong Kong, not all touristy like TST. The Metro is right across the street. Will stay here many more times in the future. And, they reminded me to get my FF number on file - even got extra FF miles for the stay.

We were greeted with fabulous service right at the front door as the bellman offered to take care of our luggage. Check in was smooth and quick and since there were three of us, we were even offered a free upgrade to 'Trio Place' and granted our request for a room on a high floor on the 32nd floor. Having stayed in the 'Essential Family Place' room before, we were surprised by how wonderfully spacious the 'Trio Place' room was which provided wonderful views of Kowloon as well as the Hong Kong island. Everyday, the maid knocked on our door and asked us if we needed more towels or water bottles which was a nice touch. The location could not have been better with a 7-Eleven convenience store close by as well as the adjacent Langham Place shopping mall which is conveniently connected to the MTR. Mongkok is also a wonderful district with a vast array of local shopping and dining experiences. Overall we had an excellent stay and Langham Place Hotel would definitely be our top choice for staying in Hong Kong.

This was our third stay at the Langham Mongkok and for the following reasons:

1. Ease of travel to and from hotel to airport/city and shopping. If arriving into HK airport you can buy an Octopus Tourist travel card within airport confines. Once purchased you just push your bag along to meet the internal train that transports you to the Airport Express train that will take you to HK [so easy]. On return you cash in your Octopus card for refund on unused travel.

2 From there you transfer onto the MTR [underground train system] to Mongkok and when you get off the train follow the signs to Langham Place and then take escalators up into the hotel. So very easy - and if you have had a long haul flight makes the travel in nonstressful

3. The hotel service, room and facilities are top class. Makes your stay special. Rooms provide all necessary facilities and room is serviced daily by friendly room service attendees. Rooms very quiet. Hallway carpet needs replacing as well faded and not really up to standard of 5* hotel.

4. Special mention: Swimming pool and spa [located on level 41?] - amazing and has a relaxing ambience about it with the most amazing views over Hong Kong. Pool is luke warm and after a swim relax in the many deck chairs [totally relaxing]. After a day out sightseeing this is the 'most perfect relax at no cost"

5. Extra special mention: Breakfasts in Ground floor restaurant. Assortment of continental fruits, pastries and foods: Asian breakfast foods [try the steamed dumplings with sauce - devine]: Cooked English breakfast assortments [they will cook your eggs of choice or have scrambled readily available] with sausages [chicken yummy] and bacon etc and on this occasion indian breakfast foods. All delicious and constantly restocked. They serve tea and coffee at your table. Fill up and it will last you well into the day.

6. Extra special mention [2]: Ming Court restaurant. Dress up its top class and they will make you feel top class. Silver service so to speak. Top quality food and in good serving quantity [we actually ordered too much food as we considered that they may be small servings - but were wrong. Well done Ming Court for providing good sized servings. Totally blown away by a dish that was made up of egg whites with prawns. Total skill and lots of eggs had to be used in this dish. If going there - do try it. Service was friendly, helpful in explaining dishes and very welcoming. No wonder this restaurant has a Michelin star! Would I go there again - most definitely and not just once but several times in my next visit

7. Disappointing: Buffet dinner meal. My husband and I considered foods lacking in taste and some foods very bland . Didn't enjoy meal at all and would not go there for evening meal again.

Overall would I stay at Langham Mongkok again - most definitely for above reasons. Excellent hotel with great facilities and service. Front desk were very helpful to us and housekeeping services excellent.

5.

Room Tip: harbour view

This beautiful modern property is in the VERY busy Mongkok neighborhood, an older quarter of the city that still has a 1920's feel. As noted by others, it is adjoining a huge mall and the Mongkok MTR (subway) station, both of which can add great convenience to your stay. But wander outside and you will get a sense of heading back in time. Small shops, street stalls, old neon signs indicating long closed nightclubs, it's all here. Langham Place is also central for walking to many of the markets. I walked to the Flower Market and Goldfish Market in the morning, the Jade and Ladies Markets in the afternoon and then the Night Market after dinner. Check out the beautiful rooftop swimming pool complex, even if just for a drink. Amazing views.

Service is excellent throughout. Rooms are very luxe. Great TV/movies/internet in the rooms. But don't spend too much time indoors!

Room Tip: Others have reviewed the value of Club Rooms, but the Standard rooms are lovely. Higher floors have...

Great location, the extra cost for a club room was worth it. The service was excellent and we were upgraded to a room with 180 degree views over the city and harbour on the 39th floor! The lounge facilities wre excellent as were the helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again! The hotel is close to shops, ladies market - making shopping very easy!

Room Tip: Definitely go for the club option
