“Nothing much to add - great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 March 2009

Chose this hotel a) because I am aware of the Langham hotel in London and b) due to all the positive reviews on Trip Advisor.
I dont think there is much I can add to what has been written already staff great, location fantastic (stay here and see real Hong Kong - its a leisurely 30 minutes down to the tip of Kowloon and you get to see loads on the way) and Club L very good.
The only downside was the pool was closed for 3 of the 4 days we were there (only opening on the day we departed) and we deliberatly chose a hotel with a pool and no concession was given except that they would pay for a taxi to their sister hotel 10/15 minutes away-bit inconvenient.
One word of warning though - I booked our rooms via the hotels website and it was offering a special deal where the room was discounted but it stipulated that the costs of the rooms would be charged immediately to my credit card and the booking was not changeable or refundable. No problem for us so booked some 3 months ahead of arrival.
During this time no charge appeared on my credit card statement and I assumed that I would be charged on check out however during this time the exchange rates had fluctuated massively meaning that in real terms I would be paying more for my room than if they had charged me at the time of booking.
I raised this with the hotel Duty Manager on the day of departure and she agreed with me that their web did state that I would be charged when booking and that she would look into it. She then went away, worked out the differences in exchange rates between the time of booking and then adjusted my bill accoringly with little fuss and lots of apologies.
I do not think this is deliberate as by not charging at the time the are losing out on interest (little at the moment I know) and guaranteed revenue should you cancel.
Great hotel, great city, I'll be back.

This was our fifth trip to Hong Kong and I think that I shall never stay anywhere else.
From its interesting accommodations plans, to the kitschy artwork everywhere (see photos) to the signature fragrance (ginger) permeating public areas, to key holders ("Place Me"), pillow menu ("Spoil me"), room service menu ("Feed Me"), spa menu ("Pamper me"), the hotel is full of quirky and cute touches and swathed in soothing colors and ambience. The breakfast buffet is to die for (about 60 items daily). The rooftop pool and 41st floor spa with their panoramic views and five elements themes, impeccable services and amenities is routinely mentioned as one of the best in Hong Kong, and every member of the staff seems genuinely happy to serve and to serve well.

The location is quite accessible to everything if you aren't afraid to use the MTR (which is clean, efficient, and user-friendly). Mongkok is probably the most colorful neighborhood in HK, and certainly the most commercial with the local food and fish market, ladies' market, sportswear market, flower market, bird market and jade market all within within walking distance.

We were upgraded, which gives you a higher level floor but no doubt the rooms are the same. The pillow menu includes not only your choice of size and shape and softness, but also whatever aromatherapy infusion you desire or need. The windows are fitted with movable seats, so you can look down at all the activity below while doing email or whatever. One of the best shopping malls in town with many food options is connected by a walkway. And there is free internet in the business center.

When comparing prices on this hotel I got a better special offer from the hotel itself than from many of the consolidators, so go there first and try to get a combo that includes breakfast and internet.

One last touch: when you ask for a cab to get to the Kowloon airport station, they give you an envelope containing a card with the location for the cab driver. On the outside of the envelope it says "Miss you Already."

I'll start by saying that any HK hotel with a pool is a bonus. This one is not only on the rooftop with great views, but it's heated! There's a whirlpool as well and a gym on the level below, with equally impressive views.

The rooms have everything you need, not that you spend long in there. Beds are comfortable with a choice of pillows, and the TV is a flatscreen. Best of all though is the bathroom. The glass wall lets you see the skyscrapers of Kowloon as you take a bath.

Situated in Mong Kok, there are better locations for tourists but the MTR is within a 5 minute walk (via the adjacent shopping mall if you don't want to get wet). There's also a market nearby where there's everything you can imagine on sale, and some things you can't imagine!

I never sampled the food here as I prefer to eat out. There's a restaurant in the mall that does good dim sum breakfasts

We were recommended to stay here by Trailfinders and they were absolutely right! We upgraded to a club room and had the use of their lounge which is fantastic with breakfast, morning coffee, afternooon tea and cocktails available when you are! The rooms are so luxurious with bathrooms to die for! We found the huge supersized bed to be really comfortable with choice of pillows. The hotel staff are so helpful, courteous and pleasant and attend to your every need - we would thoroughly recommend a stay here as an oasis in a mad city! Truly affordable luxury - they certainly know how to treat their guests.

What all the reviews say about this hotel is true! We were in Hong Kong for the Bledisloe cup and decided on the Langham. It was probably the best hotel I have stayed in. The rooms were quite small (normal for Hong Kong) but felt spacious due to the clever use of glass and mirrors. The bathroom was really nicely set up the space was managed in such a way that it didn't feel small.
The gym, pool and spa facilities were amazing. The rooftop pool was so convenient and the gym had heaps of really new equipment, bottled water and towels and was well staffed. There are free internet facilities or paid internet through the TV in the room. Probably if I had one criticism it would be that there weren't enough free internet terminals but for most people if you are prepared to pay this isn't really a problem.
We didn't eat many meals in the hotel, although we found that those we did were really nice, especially the Chinese restaurant and the lunch buffet. Cocktails weren't bad either.
The hotels location in mongkok was great. It is attached to a shopping centre which was convenient if we needed to grab something to eat or do some airconditioned shopping. There was a subway station attached to the shopping centre which was also really handy. It's close to a couple of markets including the ladies market and a quick trip on the train to everywhere else.
The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. All in all a really lovely stay. I think it would be perfect for a girls shopping trip or a relaxing holiday if you want a bit of luxury.

This hotel has everything you would wish for, very luxurious, clean spacious and comfortable. We upgraded (for a small fee) to a higher floor room which gave us a better view.

The room had all mod cons and a huge bed that was turned down each night for us. The hotel is located next to a shopping mall and in the middle of chinese market district.

There were lots of restuarants used by locals, and the metro is across the road.

Our stay was perfect the hotel made that possible. I would not stay anywhere else in Hong Kong.

This is my first contribution to tripadvisors readers and as I use this fabulous website to choose the hotels in which my spouse and me will stay I contribute too.
We stayed 5 nights in Langham Place Hotel and it is a very nice hotel, the staff is really attentive to every needs you will have. It's located in Mongkok area which is plenty of life. Next to Ladies Market, Mongkok Computer Center, and a lot of little shops of sports goods. The rooms are big for hong kong standards, very clean, but the toilet paper is badly situated and the beds are really tough. If you have problems with tough beds don't go there ! Otherwise it's a spendid hotel.

Another point that seems to be Hong Kong phonical isolation standards is that you can ear people talking or walking in the corridors. You can ear your neighbour's TV or alarm clock. It's a bit annoying but we stayed in the Mariott Renaissance Kowloon Hotel and Starwolrd Galaxy (Macau) and it was quite the same.

You have internet access in the 5th floor but you cannot connect your own laptop. For use internet from your laptop you need to pay a fee a 120$HK for 24h.
