“Stylish hotel in a great location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2011

We stayed at the Mira Hotel for a week while we were celebrating my birthday in HK and had a wonderful stay! I am sure this hotel will make it into the top 10 on tripadvisor in the near future!

The Mira Hotel is fabulously trendy - the foyer, the restaurants and the rooms have wonderful design features that makes it stand out from the rest! The room was comfortable and is very techy (with ipod dock, the lcd television and internet all hooked up). The free wi-fi in the room and the use of the mobile phone while in town is also a great bonus.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Tsim sha Tsui with a plethora of shops and restaurants right at your doorstep. Only a couple of minutes walk to the MTR trains and a few blocks from Victoria Harbour where you can watch the spectacular Symphony of Lights show! We were tossing up between the Mira and the W and are so glad we picked the Mira based on its location. We taxied past the W on one night and it seemed to be in an isolated area with not much happening around! So if you want to be in the heart of the action then Mira is definitely the right choice.

We also enjoyed the Mira Spa everyday after a full day of sightseeing and shopping and found it incredibly blissful and the staff very attentive! The Mira is also very accommodating when our flight landed early in the morning and the hotel was happy to store our luggage and allowed us to use the spa to freshen up. The same courtesy was extended when we checked out but our flight was only later that evening.

Overall we would highly recommend the Mira! The also know how to put in a special touch - they brought me a birthday cake to celebrate the occassion! While the cake wasn't particularly to my taste, the gesture certainly puts it in a class above a lot of other big name hotels.

Top location on Nathan road which is THE central shopping district. Great yet not big rooms with a lot of technical gimmicks. Free internet in the room is highly appreciated. Excellent breakfast, very clean and nice spa with huge pool. The hotel is extremely stylish. Service is very good. I checked out in the morning and could use the spa and pool area in the evening in order to take a shower and relax. The price level is high but adequate. Next time in Hong Kong, I will book the Mira again.

Hotel is great.

Nice staff. Nice location. Excellent breakfast.
The room is great - but you have to like technology....else, it won't work.

Booked one of the spa suites - the room was extremely stylish and equipped with all the bells & whistles you could hope for- free internet, two tvs, mood lights, discrete toilet, designer bathroom products & heaps of english channels. The spa was by far the best - it was a long rectangular shape which allowed you to lie down & watch the spa's tv. The shower, which also doubles up as a sauna, was well designed and suited the sophistication of this room.

Tried the hotel spa which is rated one of the best in asia. We tried a few spas in Asia and this one was definitely the highlight. We loved it so much that we booked in a second trip while we were there.

Visiting Hong Kong twice a year for business, and usually staying on the Island side, I decided to give the Mira a try and experience a stay in the central Tsim Sha Tsui area.

The location is very good. Shops and restaurants are abundant as pretty much anywhere in Hong Kong. The hotel is very close to the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station (5 minutes and you're on the train) making it very easy to move around the city. What I disliked about the area is the continuous harassment from sellers of knock off bags and watches, it's funny those first 50-60 times. Then it just gets annoying. A tip: if you need to travel on the East Rail, don't go on foot to the East Tsim Sha Tsui station, it will take you 15-20 minutes. Take a taxi to Hung Hom instead, it's fast and less expensive as well.

Self proclaimed a design hotel, the Mira delivers what it promises. The funishing is stylish and each piece has its own character. The lightining is pleasant, but the overall effect is pretty dark as there is a lot of blacks, greys and browns on the floors, walls and furniture. The room was a Mira-80, an 80 sqm suite with two queen beds, a living room with a desk, sofa and TV, a bathroom with a Thai sauna and a secondary bathroom. The room was equipped with big LCD screens, a computer (unfortunately unable to play divx media files) and a number of phones. It can feel a bit overwhelming, if you not that tech savy.

The bathroom sports a very large mirror, which includes a hidden TV panel. When it's off, the panel looks like a mirror. When we turned it on, it projected a pornographic movie. We had a laugh, but some people might be offended, especially if they're visiting with young children.

In general, the room was comfortable and pleasant, even if a bit dark and not as noise-proof as I'd expect.

The hotel offers a SPA, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi and a small but well equipped gym. The swimming pool looked much better than what you mostly find in a city hotel, while the gym seemed appropriate. A little problem I had with the gym, is that after you use it, you need to return to your room, walking through corridors with air conditioning set to what feels like 13-15°C. It gave me a nasty cold, so not cool.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, noteworthy is the juice station where you can request any custom juice you might like made of the several fruit and vegetable available.

We also tried 'Cusine Cusine', the Chinese restaurant who received two Michelin stars. Unfortunately my cold prevented me from fully appreciating the experience. In general, the food seemed excellent, even if there were way too many items on the menu.

We also had access to the Executive Club lounge, which felt of a standard slightly higher than what's usual find in hotels of this class and therefore I can recommend buying this options.

Overall a good hotel, for both business and pleasure thanks to its central location. Might be unappealing to people not that familiar with technology though.

I stayed at the Mira for one night as a stopover flying back to Australia from London. I had booked the room using HotelClub.com and found it quite confusing trying to work out the room types that were on sale via HotelClub and trying to compare them to the description on Mira's website. I arrived early in the morning and although check in wasn't until theafternoon, the hotel staff did their best to check me in to my room early. I ended up upgrading to an executive room, which had possbily one of the best showers I have ever used. The room included afternoon tea, supper and drinks in the evening, Bose iPod dock, free WiFi, local calls and internet access via the flatscreen TV. Breakfast was also included in the price, which I sampled some of before my very early flight the next morning - a huge variety and lots of fresh food. There is also a michelen starred restaurant on site.

The room was beautiful, with all the latest technology and views over Kowloon Park, marble floors, large bathroom with seperate bath, audio controls in the bathroom. Bottled water and fresh fruit was also provided.

The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, concierge found a Chinese doctor for me to get a massage, rang and booked the appointment (and managed to find one open over the Chinese New Year Holiday). The health and fitness facilities were also fantastic. I wish I had longer to there to spend the whole day in the hotel to make use of it all!

This is a very large hotel which you excpet to have a certain level of service, but it is the small things and staff that make this hotel fantastic. The location in Kowloon was very good - a short walk to the night markets, across the road from Kowloon park and about a 15 minute walk to the Harbour.
