The hotel is stylish but not really surprising?Davis Hotel in Bangkok is similar?rooms nice, internet tv
etc very good!..irritating only one tap? In the little hallway?not practical at all?And most of all..?very thin walls!!!...could literally hear the neighbors "romancing" !?..so not much of privacy??so beware haha!

Everything you want in a 5-Star hotel, and more. Walking to restaurants and shopping in all price ranges was enjoyable and fast. Staff pops up with help before you ask. Internet link through large flat panel TV in room. Courtesy shoe shine service. I can't say enough good things, and there was no bad.

Stayed at the Mira Hong Kong for 5 days during my recent business trip. The hotel is very trendy and well located for visitors to HK on the Kowloon side - in the hub of shopping - Nathan Road.

It takes approx 30 - 40 mins from the airport, depending on traffic, and I paid HKD $ 220 for the ride. There are other modes available like the MTR and airport bus but not aware of charges.

The check in was smooth (kind of) except that the bell boy had already moved my luggage which he unloaded from my cab to the luggage room - wierd since i was just checking in. The lobby is trendy and feels like you have entered some upmarket danceclub (except that there is no loud music playing).

The rooms are spacious - as per HK standards - though I have lived in bigger - mainly on the main HK island. As mentioned by other reviewers - the bath is not too private and the placement of the basin is odd - there is a tray that slides on top which has your drinking water etc.

Internet connectivity was offered free and very stable and fast. I could connect my laptop and Iphone effortlessly. Housekeeping was efficient and I used the one touch "my mira" several times on the phone and was never disappointed.

Breakfast is nice - large spread of Asian and western - but every morning I used to hate the over enthusiastic service staff - even before I could sit and take a breather I would be asked for tea / coffee - almost relentless every morning.

The room was quiet - very clean but found it too dark for a business room - would suit someone who is in HK for shopping or the exciting dance clubs in the neighbourhood. Similar to some other reviews, other than the rooms, i found the corridors etc very very dark - kind of gloomy especially if its raining outside.

Next door is the One shopping centre - very good but even better is the Mirador shopping centre which is under the same hotel management - fantastic japanese shops like Muji and some great local / international labels.

Would definately recommend this hotel to someone who wants to be in the midst of Kowloon shopping and wants to feel like they are living in a dance club.

Having been upgraded to the club city room we were able to check in away from the hussle and bussle of the lobby. The club privileges are great from afternoon cakes to evening aperitifs and drinks. We had a great stay for the 2 nights we were in HK and would definitely recommend this hotel. It's extremely central and a short walk to everywhere. It's very modern and the features in our room were unique and original, not to mention the novelty factor. We were also treated to a complimentary bottle of champers as were on honeymoon!

A great hotel when staying for business or pleasure - the location, in the heart of Kowloon's shopping district could not be better, surrounded by cool bars, restaurants and shops.
The rooms are large and well equipped with every modern convenience - ipod docking stations, internet connection and mobile phone for your stay. Not for the self conscious - the bathroom walls are made of glass!
Spa and pool area inthe basement is luxurious and elegant - check out the relaxation beds!
Fantastic choice of restaurants and bars, including a Michelin star quality Chinese.

I came to this hotel having stayed at the (also 5 star) Fairmont in Beijing and I must say I was really disappointed. Perhaps the Fairmont was exceptional and obviously HK is a different market, but it fell short on too many things for me and in fact it should have been better, because HK is a more mature market. Our room was very small, for example the sink is outside the bathroom, where you would normally have your wardrobe, tea making stuff etc. The room was clean-ish, but for example the area above the bin was dirty where people had splashed things in. The bathroom is that sliding door-with-glass-walls-and-privacy-blinds type design, but the door did not shut properly. This is not very nice when you are staying with a friend, or a new partner perhaps! The lobby and public spaces are very dark and moody, which I personally don't like - it's like walking into a cave when you come in from oustide. The hotel is well situated if you want to be on the Kowloon side. It's on the equivalent of Oxford St however, so it's not the most relaxing place to be, but then again HK's not relaxing. Good shopping nearby as everywhere. There is a park over the road.
On the plus side, the bedlinen is very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The bathrobes are also lovely. The in room media/connectivity is very good. The swimming pool is exceptional. The massage was good (a man, can't remember his name). The French restaurant was eye wateringly expensive but very good and the service there was very good. It's well meaning but a bit inept elsewhere in the hotel - you get the sense that they want to be helpful and professional, but they don't quite know what they're aspiring to. As I understand it this hotel is part of a project to regenerate this area and take it back upmarket - the owners also own the shopping centre over the road. I would say they're not quite there yet. But if you are a 20something looking for a trendy destination it might work for you and as I say, I have not been to other hotels in HK to compare it to. I suspect that real 5 star experiences cost quite a lot more. However if you are in this market I would check out the W

Stayed at the Mira for our wedding anniversary after 3 days in disneyland with our 7 year old. It was our second time at The Mira and we were again not disappointed. Reserved online and got exactly what i requested . Non smoking room in red ( stayed in a green room last year). When we arrived they prepared the room for our anniversary. Beautiful flowers all over with chilled champagne . The room was very clean, very pretty done ib a very elegant minimalist fashion. The Mira has very well designed rooms. Very functional with clean lines. Amenities in the room are just great. There is a wireless keyboard which my son loves . They have a mobile phone you can take with you around the city so you can access the concierge and your family can access you as well from any hotel phone.

The breakfast buffet has very good well thought of selections. Coffee is great too. The indoor pool is wonderful. However, it is not kid friendly. The shallow part is heated , too hot for kids. The pool with normal room temperature is too deep for kids. No kids allowed after 8 pm. I guess it was not meant to be for families with children. Maybe they should have a separate pool area for kids then.

Over-all though our stay was wonderful and will definitely go back to Mira when in Hongkong.
