Panda Hotel, Hong Kong: The Panda Hotel is located within the Kowloon Island of Hong Kong, at a drive of about 20 minutes from the airport. It is connected to the city with the help of MTR. The entire complex houses a mall on the lower three floors with hotel lobby on the 8th floor. The rooms, although comfortable, do not have double beds and are instead equipped with two single beds. Also the facilities of swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam bath are free for the guests. The rooms are comfortable but the absence of double beds is a glaring miss. Also, the HK$1500 pre-deposit (refundable) for any calls or drinks you may consume from the mini-fridge in your room does seem a little harsh. Also, there are KFC and McDonald’s close-by if you prefer not too eat in the hotel restaurant. All-in-all it’s a decent experience.

Arriving late into HK on my return trip home from Australia I was soon through customs and in a taxi to the Panda Hotel. Situated on the top of the Panda Shopping Mall you enter onto the 3rd floor into an open check in area and yes, there is a Panda theme.
In a broken English I was asked to book in on the 30th floor and was taken by a smart young porter to the lift and off we went.
On the 30th floor was a lounge and free internet and was greeted and booked into my room.
The whole of the top floors was an executive experience.
The lounge was in white settees with a distant views of the area, the internet was available from 6am to 12 midnight with assistance for all your needs.
Breakfast was a buffet and would suit all tastes, although Dim Sum for breakfast was a new experience.
The room was clean and had a good flat screen tv.
As this is mainly a transit hotel a bookable shuttle bus runs through Kowloon to the end of the Peninsula and convenient for the big stores and Star ferries to Hong Kong Island.
From the hotel there is also a connecting airport bus for $hk 100 / £10 which is cheaper than the taxi.
The only thing I would not do is buy coffee from the bar. but that's another story.
I would use the hotel as a one night stop over again but you would be tied to the shuttle bus if staying for a longer period.
An excellent place for an over night stay.

Three of us, my parents and I stayed at a room there for four nights, and paid HKD 2,220. We enjoyed a promotional rate - 4 nights for the price of 3.

The room was clean, well-kept and the housekeeper was really affable. The reception though was brisk and efficient, but not always courteous.

The hotel is about a 20 minute drive away from the city, but fortunately, the hotel provided free shuttle service to Tsim Sha Tsui at almost every hour till 10 plus at night.

What put me off a little was the HKD 1,200 deposit we had to pay upfront on check-in. Apparently, the hotel needs to protect itself from hotel guests who refuse to pay up for snacks taken from the mini-bar in the room.

We did not know that the mineral water provided in the room was NOT complimentary. And ended up paying HKD 60, which the hotel deducted from the deposit returned to us on checking out of the room. Thought that was quite sneaky

Nonetheless, it was a pleasant stay and the hotel staff were all really helpful

Highly recommended

Stayed in this hotel for about 6 nights booked through priceline for about $75 a night. You can book this hotel directly Panda website for less as they constantly run weekly promotions. If you stay longer than 1 week, they will give you a $60 per night rate.

The hotel is located in a rather inconvenient location but has shuttles every hour plus MTR is about 20 min walking distance away, not convenient but manageable. The hotel room is rather small and matress rather hard, but overall I had good night sleep. It's good and quiet on the non smoking floor of the hotel (make sure you get those rooms), as the mainland China tourists will occupy and noisy smoking sections and I heard it could get rather noisy at nights. The hotel has a nice business center on the top floor, daily internet via wifi will run you about $12 a day, and the connection is very weak at times as the internet connection can be completely out at times. I would not recommend this hotel if you work on your computer a lot and have to be online.

The gym and swimming pool and sauna is very nice and the place is very updated. The staff looks tired and unhappy most of the time. But, overall for the money, it's worth the troubles and the small inconveniences.

Booked 2 rooms at this hotel back in April so got a pretty good deal. When we checked in we asked for adjoining rooms - they were way at the end of the non-smoking floor (13) but this was perfect for us since we tend to be loud. The check-in people were not very fluent in English but they were nice and accommodating and we were able to get our request. Our room was big in comparison to other hotels in Hong Kong. The rooms looked newly renovated, they were very clean, and the beds were comfortable with down comforters. The bathrooms were also very clean. The concierge and travel desk were very friendly and willing to answer the countless questions we had regarding getting around HK. One drawback to this place is its location - quite a distance from Hong Kong and Kowloon. The MTR is a 10-minute walk away - in the July heat the walk can really sap your strength. Another drawback is the fact that there is no free WIFI. I think these days having free internet access is a huge guest drawer. But a huge plus for this place is that it has a mall in the building - and a $10 dollar store that we went to practically everyday of our stay!

Had been to Hong Kong a few times. Stayed in Kowloon area for my past visits, but found Panda Hotel room more spacious. Not sure if that's because we gotten a free upgrade from a superior room. Though we arrived late morning, we were able to checked in.

As we were travelling with a 3 year old kid and total of 4 adults with elderly, taking a taxi from airport to the door step of the hotel seems the best value for money option (cheaper option of bus A31 need to walk a distance with luggage), costing about 200 - 250 HKD per trip, inclusive of luggage surcharges and toll fees.

Being away from downtown is not a problem as the hotel provide free hourly bus service to Tsim Sha Tsui (about 30min travel time). Need to register with the conceige beforehand though to secure your seats, especially travelling during peak hours). Midway drop off at MongKok (1 street away from A2/C2 exit of Mong Kok MTR station), China Habour City and MTR Hung Hom is possible.

Alternatively, a slow walk (5 - 10min) to Tsuen Wan MTR station is fully sheltered, with shops and eating outlets along the way. Though internet access in the hotel is chargeable, there are 3 internet stations within the Tsuen Wan MTR station providing free 15min internet access. Similar internet stations are also available in other MTR stations.

Hotel did not provide free bottled water, but that can easily be overcome by boiling our own water. The dimsum in the second floor chinese restaurant of the shopping arcade is reasonably priced. Just across the street, there is a bakery shop and tea cafe.

The hotel lobby is very spacious and the panda decoration are appealing to small kids. Will still consider to stay there for my future visits.
