“Very good hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

Stayed for 3 nights in a family room and was very pleasantly surprised with the room, hotel facilities and staff. The room was large by Hong Kong standards and comfortably fit a family of four. Our room overlooked the pool and jacuzzi and the standard of the room was very high. We enjoyed the pool facilities and it was very convenient being situated above the MTR and a large shopping centre with some good dining options. Breakfast was just so-so and I wouldn't recommend it if it's not included in the room rate. Will definitely return for the convenience and high standard of facilities.

Stayed here for a night with 2 friends.I caught the airport train into kowloon, and then a taxi from the station- very quick and cheap. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff all seemed friendly and helpful.Room was spacious for 3 adults, The markets, buses and trains are all nearby. We had a very late night flight when we flew out and they let us have a swim in the pool after our day of sightseeing and shopping and use the bathroom facilities to freshen up before our flight- which was so nice after a hot muggy day. One thing that amused and impressed me was when I was floating in the pool you could hear music under the water!!! I highly recomend this place!

We stayed here for 2 nights en route. A very comfortable 5 star hotel. At reception they gave us a room upgrade to a 17 th floor room with a great view. The bed was very comfy - marble bathroom and effective air con. Enjoyed the shopping centre attached to the hotel and ate at La Scala in the hotel and Peking in the shopping centre- both memorable meals. Would stay again. Pool loungers were in short supply.

Having only been to Hong Kong once before we weren't really sure where to stay this time around and only chose the Royal Plaza Hotel because it looked decent and fitted our family of 2 adults and 2 children in one room, but didn't have any real expectations beyond that. From the moment we arrived this hotel greatly exceeded our expectations. I had broken my foot 3 days earlier and without us even asking, the check-in clerk upgraded us to a larger room and then moved our friends who we were travelling with so that we could be close together. The rooms are exceptionally clean and beautifully appointed, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. The pool area was lovely and all the staff went out of their way to assist us. The hotel is in a great location in Kowloon on top of a lovely shopping mall and MTR station so getting around couldn't be easier. Highly recommended.

Really could not fault things at the Royal Plaza. I booked online quite a long way out and got a good price for a family room with two queen beds. Getting to the hotel from the airport was simple - took the express train and then the free shuttle bus from Kowloon station. Our room was very nice - overlooking the pool. The pool and gym were great - it was a pretty hot time of year (July) and the pool was not exactly refreshing as the water was pretty much like bath water, but I guess when the overnight minimum is 28 deg C there is not a lot you can do about the pool warming up. We had breakfast in the hotel once - it was OK, lots of choices, but relatively expensive, especially as there were quite good places in the shopping mall attached to the hotel. A short walk to night markets in Mongkok, good restaurants, the shopping mall next door has good shops in the reasonable price range (rather than all the luxury shops down by the ferry terminal). We would highly recommend it and definitely stay there again. We also had a very late check out as we were flying at midnight and managed to extend our room for not too much extra payment.

Just stayed at the hotel for three nights and am very disappointed that the service standard has dropped since last visit one year ago. At the last stay, there was eager and helpful bell boys welcoming us the moment we stepped out of the taxis and every room had a nesppresso coffee machine for us to make our complimentary cups of coffee every day. However, for this stay both there was no bellboy to welcome us. We had to carry our luggage out of the taxis and to the rooms ourselves. There was also no coffee machine in the rooms anymore. In addition, we had to wait one and a half hours for one of our to be ready. The counter staff also took very long to do the checking in.

I stayed at the hotel for a week for business. From the airport I took the express train and complementary hotel shuttle bus(K5) which proved to be excellent and quick. The mall attached to the hotel is really convenient for grocery shopping and quick and cheap but also good dinners. Because of the mall the hotel lobby is quite crowded. Rooms are bit noisy as well. Other than that an ideal location for me. Overall prices are a bit too high in my opinion, but you do get the quality with it.
